So I attempted to read this entire thread before I posted, but I kept getting the same thing. From what it seems Ferris, you dislike electronically (or what you call artificial) made loops, whether or not they were made from scratch. You seem to think that just because it's a loop, it's completely unoriginal and written with eJay. In one of your posts you linked to a song loop by DaGrahamCraka, which easily formed this argument for me. That loop was obviously made electronically and entirely from scratch. Obviously you did not notice this and automatically assumed it was made with presets.
Now, let me put some perspective into this. Let's say I want to write a classical score, but I want to make it loopable and short to be used as background music for something like a game. Perhaps I want to include flutes and violins, horns and saxophones, lots of percussion and much more. However, I cannot play all of these instruments. I'm simply not talented enough. So I have two options: hire other people to perform the parts or use prerecorded sounds to produce the music. This is how it works for electronica artists who make these loops. It's all done the same way, only a different genre.
Credit should not be taken away from someone just because it's a loop. Musical composition takes effort any way you look at it. Writing something that's 30 seconds long takes as much effort as something that is 30 minutes long. Obviously there is a lot more time that goes into the 30 minute song since it's longer, but you must remember that time isn't the same thing as effort. Just because you wrote a song that's longer doesn't mean you tried harder than the other person.
I tried my best to explain that. I hope I got my point across correctly.
