Looked good to me except this. The LIMIT clause takes the starting value and how many records to show, so I think you would just want:
$endOn = 100;

Because it's not a range, rather a starting value and a number of how many records you want.

It's called pagination, and if you are using MySQL you would use the MySQL LIMIT clause: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/s elect.html

Anyway, I see exactly where fwe is coming from. I'm making a platform engine for my new game right now, and it is extremely difficult. It's insulting when someone comes along and says "if you have a sidescroller engine, please email it to me". It belittles every programmer.

No.

But anyway, it would look like this:

$url = 'http://www.somesite.com/file.gif';
$parts = explode('.', $url);
$count = count($parts);
$file_ext = $parts[$count - 1]; // That displays gif, not .gif.

This is not a good week for Scott Boras. First A-Rod goes to Yankees without him, then Kenny Rogers parts ways, and then, to top it all off, we find out that Warren Buffet is the one who advised A-Rod to do that. The 3rd richest person in the world thought Boras was a bad idea LOL. Eat that Scott.

Ohhh, interesting. I've never seen it as a choice during checkout on domain sites though. I guess I never look for it on Amazon and such.

That's not what I'm asking. I understand it's a debit card, which is what we also have here. They do the same thing. I'm saying that here as far as I know debit cards are not usable on the internet. Is this card usable on the internet? Because if it's like our debit cards he's going to have a difficult time finding a place that accepts it if it's not physically usable on the net.

Possibly the funniest thing about the A-Rod thing is the Yankees also have a better offer for Lowell on the table than the Red Sox... They better revoke it quickly, or some people say he could play first base for them.

Do you like read every other line?

"A team, of course, can talk directly with a player as long as it doesn't try to circumvent his representation."

That means they can make a deal with A-Rod WITHOUT Boras as long as Boras drafts the final contract and gets his portion. Boras works for A-Rod, if A-Rod doesn't want him at a meeting/negotiation, he in no way has to have him there. If Boras doesn't "elect" to do whatever A-Rod tells him to do, he gets the boot. And also, the Yankees have to protect themselves. They have to make sure it's not a ploy for Boras to go to other clubs and tell them the Yankees made so and so offer, try to beat it.

Anyway, it's all naught. They've probably already signed the contract because the only way the Yankees were going to negotiate is by saying here's our offer, if you leave this room, it's off the table, because they can't have him using the offer to make other clubs bid higher.

Of course, Boras is a money-hungry pig. I'm sure he'd rather elect to not be there and still get paid rather than risk getting fired so A-Rod can play for the team he wants to play for.

lol true, but he still comes out look weak and his rep is pretty damaged.

They are very close to a deal. People inside say it's almost 100%.

I also find it funny the Yankees won't meet with Boras, they only want to talk to A-Rod. Although it violates baseball's Collective Bargaining Agreement, it sure makes it more interesting.

It doesn't violate anything... A-Rod is an adult who can negotiate with anyone he wants. Boras would obviously still write up the contract, just not negotiate the actual contents.

I wonder if the Yankees will be able to sign this dude again? I mean, who wouldn't want one of the worst post-season performers in Yankee Franchise history back?

If it wasn't for A-Rod, the Yankees has no chance of MAKING the playoffs last year...

Why not just make a step for the file(s)? Because there's no possible way to get the same level of web-based upload tool than you can with Flash. You can even do it all on the same page and just embed the uploader, have an "upload" button in it, and the file is uploaded before they submit the form. Begin to upload a video on Youtube as there's is a good example of a good 2 step process.

What's the point of this?

Why not just use a much sleeker Flash file uploader? With Flash you can easily do a great file uploader, with progress bar AND it's great with large files.

You missed my point entirely. That's not where the "full time" discussion began if you actually take a look at it. Some people were making the sad excuse that the reason this forum is so unhelpful is because there aren't enough "full time" Flash people around here, when that's completely untrue. What I'm getting at is the people who don't do Flash as a "full time" job can still be HELPFUL, unlike it has been implied in the last page or two. Someone called the amount of expertise around this forum "pathetic". Please, just stop. There are so many skilled people here, that it would be better to call why this forum is so unhelpful a mystery rather than make stuff up. Let's just be honest, there's loads of skilled people here, but getting skilled people to donate their time to help people is a challenge.

I'm having trouble finding the link between being good at Flash and doing it "full time". I think you guys are getting the terms "professional" and "full time" confused. Full time is simply the time you spend on it. Professional on the other hand means you do it well to make money... I think the question you're trying to ask is how many people here do it PROFESSIONALLY, not necessarily full time.

That's why I think your estimation of how many professionals there are here is greatly skewed. If you've gotten a game sponsored by Armor Games, then you're a professional, you've made money with your skills in the Flash field.

When Bill Gates started developing software for companies he was in high school. Did he do it full time? No. Was he a professional? Yes. So yeah, just because a lot of people here don't do Flash/programming full time, don't relate that to them not being good enough. That's silly. I think it's mostly related to them still being in school.

Yeah and the way I decided to do it was just add the gun with ActionScript (addChild()) and then use a point within the character mc to set the x and y of the gun each frame. That's really the only option I could think of that I know would work.

Aahh, I see what you mean. I don't really have time to try it because I've tried a million things and I'm running way behind, but thanks for the suggestions. You can read bellow of how I'm going to have to do it.

It's stupid, I know. There's probably a workaround but I haven't figured it out yet.

Yeah it's so fregin annoying. You have to use like callbacks on the MovieClips to tell them to run the code once they are loaded (like on the first frame of the MC, call a function), but it's extremely annoying to do :\
