So good that you posted it twice. I agree.
'Animator vs Animation IV', 'There's a Man in the Woods', 'This Actually Happens A Lot', 'Construxion Time Again'. This was a damn good month for movies.
Ragemelon and Fairy Powerful for the win!

I definitely like this look the best from everything I've seen so far. Also, I think ratings in the thumbnails is a good idea, but I don't see how the description hurts if it's only there on rollover. Maybe you could replace it with preview stills from MP4 movies?
Above all else, I love the unified search. I hate having to choose between the things I'm searching for, which is particularly not useful if you only have a vague idea of what you're searching for. Would it be that hard to return all movie and game and user and forum and art and etc. results or is that a serious resource drain?
I made a tiny game that I think has potential, but it's not gonna be ready in the next 45 minutes. I'll submit it next week :)
Newgrounds has had interns? I wish I had known that before I got an internship. Will you guys have a job open Summer 2015? :) (PS Brewster is great)

I guess I was talking about the design. It's just that in the book, there's a tutorial for making a store website that looks/feels similar to the Newgrounds store (Cart on the side of the page that is updated asynchronously, even with the "rails flash" to let you know). It almost feels like the store was basically just taking the store in the book, and adding Newgrounds style to it.
Nothing super interesting, but looking at the rest of this Forum, I felt that wasn't too frowned upon.

Who's the lying bastard that said there were two tankmen left on the subreddit?

Crud, I'm at about $90... Guess I'll need to make a game then... Thanks for answering!
What's the minimum amount of revenue that you need to make in order for Newgrounds to actually pay you? Last I heard, it was $50, but I crossed that a while back and haven't gotten paid. Did they bump it up to $100?

Perhaps we can get something out of observing cats.

It always does.
I like it, though I do find that it has maybe an overly perfect view of cats. "They live and let live". Not if you're a small creature or an ankle.
I wanted some feedback on the serial that I've started writing, and I figured that this would be a good place to get it. If anyone has time to read it below, feedback would be much appreciated (and I'll return the favor, if you want me to!)!
"Frank was not getting his pants back. That was just not happening. He had tried. He had failed. He had gone back to the TV. He had gotten back up to make himself some tea. He had seen the massive collection of ceramic, silver, silver-looking, plastic, organic, and fungal objects inside his sink. He had said "fuck it" and gone back to the TV again. He had fallen asleep thinking of his pants and of his sink full of life. Horrible, horrendous, hideous life.
He had a dream in which he got his pants back using only what he could find in his sink. The method he used to get them back was really quite ingenious. As he strode triumphantly down the street in his newly reacquired pants, he decided to make sure that they hadn’t lost any of their vigor in their absence.
They were astounding comfortable as he ran. They would be as good as new, so long as he didn’t soil them, should the hobo that was outside of Whitey King’s Burger Whatever that he had kicked as a test catch up to him. It was the hobo’s own fault in Frank’s mind. No, Frank would not spare change for him. He would just spend it on booze or drugs. Frank liked those things much better than saving animals from Whitey King’s wrath, like the hobo wanted.
Once Frank was confident that the horrible hobo would not catch him, he stopped to catch his breath and the hobo caught him. He started screaming about a bunch of bogus bullshit bologna about the end of the world. The hobo was frightened by Frank’s outburst and let Frank go.
Frank woke up.
He made himself a bologna sandwich. It was disappointing at best. Frank thought about his dream. He decided that he would never think about it again.
While he was not thinking about his dream, Frank went golfing. Or at least, he tried to go golfing. They wouldn’t let him
onto the course without pants."

It doesn't need to be strictly animation though. Crafts such as stopmotion or claymation are fine as well, and so is live footage that makes use of effects, that's partially animated, etc.
I swear that I read that somewhere at some point in the past, but I can't seem to find it now. I'm asking because it seems like more have shown up ever since mp4 videos were added to the site, and most just feel out of place. If so, this probably shouldn't be here.Yeah, I know it's been said, but I'm not sure if it's a definite rule or not. There are lots of speedpaints poppping up in the portal too, as far as I know it's all gray area.
Righto. I know that if a live-action video has animation, even just for FX, it should be fine, but one's that are only live-action seem out of place. I also think speed painting is out of place, but less so. I'm fine with one's where the art is good. I'm also surprised that no one has started submitting Let's Plays.

This was a pretty good year for me, personally, and I can't wait to see where Newgrounds goes in the future! On a side note, sorting playlists by views is sort of depressing...
You know what these Follow Fridays got me thinking about? What if in addition to being able to support Newgrounds, you could also support artists that you follow? You could tip them or set up a subscription to support them on a regular basis. It would be a cool way to support the artists you love and would probably bring in more revenue for them than just Flash Ads :)
Congratulations to all of the winners!
PS I just realized, what are the Special Day awards gonna be if the store closes?
Guess I'm gonna need to buy a shirt soon. Does this mean a wider variety of digital goods will be available in the future? Donations to artists, or micropayments in games could be pretty cool, in my opinion.

There's are many things on Newgrounds that warm balls, but I don't think my game is one of them. Thanks for the Daily Third, Newgrounds! You have no idea how much it means to me! :)

Hey, that did the trick! I need to reload twice and then it was good. Thanks for the advice, kind stranger!
Is anyone having trouble updating their game files (the actual swf) on Newgrounds? I keep trying to load a new version of my game, but it just says (loading...) for a second or two and then disappears, setting my height to 480px and width to 640px in the process. If anyone has any advice, it'd be much appreciated! (Sorry if this is the wrong forum!)

Do they need to be .html? You can change any .html file to a .php file and, without even adding <?php?> tags, it will pretty much be the same thing, except with dynamic functionality. Then use include and make a navbar file.

Yeah, I guess I wouldn't qualify for that "REALLY funny" thing. I tried to be different with patterns in the enlarged pixels, but does it just come off as a sprite comic?
PS I miss VGCats...
I've been making a weekly comic for 2 months now, and I'd like to get some thoughts on why it sucks so hard and if it even does anything right. If anyone has time to read a few, just follow the link below and search around. If you don't feel like express thoughts in sentences (who would?), a simple "x/10" would be nice. Thanks to everyone, and sorry if I'm spamming!
I'm just now realizing that this is a crappy title for this board. I really meant "Is anyone else sick of TheShadling posting to artist news every week?" I really didn't mean to imply hate for the guy for anything besides that.

Yeah, I'w certain that other people do it as well, he's just the one that I always notice. Perhaps I shouldn't sound like I'm targeting him specifically so much.
