Topic: Why I'm not doing my summer reading

At 8/29/08 03:05 PM, GenericName54 wrote: Simply put, the books are boring. I cannot see how they can ask us to read 2 or more books that fail to hold my attention for more than a few minutes. The first book I tried was the curious incident of the dog in the night-time.

Was that about a kid trying to be a detective or something?

I got up to page 26 when I realized, this isn't going anywhere. The author just sidetracks alot and the book seemed like it would never get to the actual content. I liked the author's way of thinking and how he was writing the book which is why I got that far, but a book so bland will not keep me. Attempt number two was Marley & Me. I read 5 pages when I realized I couldn't even remember the first page. The words faded out of my memory as soon as I moved onto the next one. The third try was My Sister's Keeper. I got through half of the first page and then I closed it and dropped it behind my bed. So now when school starts rather than writing an essay on the books I did read,

Sounds to me that whoever is giving the orders to read thos books is an illiterate person.
Then again, it's just for an essay.

I will write an essay about why I didn't read them, why I found them boring, and why I decided not to try the rest of the books on the list.

Sounds good to me, I don't think your teachers will be to keen about it. I tried that before...

I think there will be a sidequest to get back Judith's spear. I was in Game Stop and there was a book for Tales of Vesperia. Maybe that's a guide?

Possibly.
Might be a story book though, or something similar to that, probably a guide though.
I find it challenging to find the quests myself.
To find them, I just talk to every NPC available, like a detectiv.

A question to ToV, can you use different characters as your display character that runs around?

I've seen that phrase somewhere before, I don't recall where though.
They say that when you die in every Tales RPG. I think. They said it in ToS, dunno about ToA or ToL, never died.

Yes, that'd be where I heard it.

You would think that the game would try to encourage you...
Encouragement is for pussys.
Ahahahaha, just remembered that Disgaea 3 is for the PS3, awesome.
Awesome.

It is.

*IMPORTANT*
Does anyone have a gamefaqs account that can post on the GameFaqs boards? Because I kind of need to use it. I'm stuck and I need to know what to do.

Sorry, don't have one. Why do you refuse to ever sign up on things like these? Just use a fake email or whatnot.

Laharl of Disgaea is now level 608. Getting closer to 9999.

There isn't a guide on GameFaqs for it yet. And most of all the sidequests I find out about are through guides. I'll be roughing it through.

Yeah, I wouldn't have thought that there'd already be guides out for it, kinda early.
But it's part of the fun finding all the side quests.

Also, I died. Not against the amazingly hard boss that I beat around three bosses after the one that killed, oh no. I died against two joke characters that were basicly the tutorial. I thought dying would just mean I don't get the exp and they mock me, or something.

"And they were never heard from again."

I died a little on the inside.

I've seen that phrase somewhere before, I don't recall where though.

Woke up and the first thing I decided to do was to report to you about the game.

Now THAT'S devotion!

Wall of text.

I watched a few gameplay trailers. Karol is like Genis a hundred times worse, ugh. Yuri seems okay, the will-always-stay-cool-no-matter-what-sit uation-guy. I see them trying to port a little bit of Kratos into him, very noticeable. I might look into it a bit more.

Now,

Yes, they are stunningly nice. Nice to see that they've put more voices into the game, adds more feeling.

Now, I might be back later, I got my ass handed to me by an overkill boss at around 4 in the morning.

It's awright, happens.

Do you plan to play the main story and then go doing all the side quests or what?

I haven't told anyone to leave yet though, I probably should though because random new people who make terrible post and include a random picture is really annoying.

They are annoying. They barge in here without reading the rules like there are free games being handed out.

Awesome.
I'm back and fully loaded.
Sounds like you had a great time, glad to hear you're getting a PS3 by the way.

I seriously did, I am surprised what one week without newgrounds can do.

Now I need to get one myself, but i'm still unsure....

Because it's not PS2 compatible anymore?

OH HAI THERE

While I was gone I have reached THE gaming enlightenment.
From the 21st 'till the 24th in Leipzig, Germany the GAMESFUCKINGCONVENTION was held. It was massive. Very. In fact, it was so "very" that next year they're having it in two separate places, in Leipzig and Cologne. Sadly, I wasn't able to get there. I could've killed. Anyway.

I've started on playing GC again, primarily Chrystal Chronicles and Phantasy Star Online I & II.
For the PS3 I will be needing a modchip to play PS2 games, Sony is a moneymaking WHORE. But thanks for all the games and consoles, Sony.

With a little luck the PS3 should be mine in a few weeks.

///
Cericon, what has possessed you to even think about going to GameStop? They are a complete ripoff. They offered me 61.50 Euros for 4 PSP, 2 GC, 10 GBA games.
But you might be lucky. Maybe.

Mendou, I bet it's real tiring having to direct all the noobs here to the nearest Exit with a kick...

Awesome.
I'm back and fully loaded.

'k.

World-moving stuff, right...?

Has anyone played Monster Hunter? I have it for the PSP, it's hard as heck as the monsters seem to have taken steroids. They even look like it.
Basically you start off in a small town with standard armor and a standard weapon.
Apparently you want to become a top class hunter, so you need to do various quests which include collecting stones that explode when dropped and defeating wyverns/dragons that make you look and fell like an ant.

I haven't even reached Rank 2 in the game and there are 5.
It consumes a lot of time.
