</shameless plug>Heh, it's all good. Sometimes you need to plug a little to make people aware, because it sucks when you spend the time updating a list and you get a minimal amount of buzz in the thread. I've had that once or twice when updating the roster here... spend ages updating it, and nobody took any notice of it for several hours. :(
It's all right for a topic like this one, which will get frequent bumps, but in the Wi/Ht, you need people to come along an notice that you've updated. I love people like gfoxcook coming along and chatting there, as it keeps the thread front page news :P

No problems here - a whole 7 users completing all requests and we've got a decent amount to shoot at this week. I've got 12 left to do, which works out at about 2-3 per day, so that's all good.

That's the thing with non-list makers. I have the same sort of issue with Dream-of-Duke demanding that I update the Saves list. I've done the stat pull for this update yesterday evening, after the cricket, so I might be able to finish prepping the list for publication over Lunch, with publication around 1700 - 1730 this evening.

I know it's had a hell of a lot of work put into it, but from what I saw with the way that the Bitey series has unfolded over its current plethora of episodes, I believe that he pushed the boundaries with the first few episodes. Maybe it's me saying that he doesn't deserve credit for this movie, because his progress in 'pushing the boundaries of Flash production' have progressed on an exponential scale, leveling out at Waterlollies.
Maybe it's also me saying that he deserved this award more for his work on Bitey of Brackenwood or Prowlies, for example, which were great and deserved the credit. I just didn't think this episode had the buzz of the rest of the series

OMG! Excuse me for being a little controversial, but how can such a dissapointing flash be voted the very best of 2007?! Surely you guys on the panel must have seen the wow factor of Adam Phillips' earlier works on the Bitey of Brackenwood series. This hasn't delivered anything new or amazing to me, as Bitey was so far ahead of its time, but for me, the time has caught up with this series and we haven't seen anything new, or innovative, when we consider the large amount of time spent between episodes.
As you can probably tell, I wouldn't have ranked this in the top half of the rankings, as my favourite for this award would have been What is Love, Blockhead Ghostmas or Madness Consternation.
Face it Tom, if you re-released Pico, with the same graphics but a new plotline, the only reason it would be voted so high would be because of your name being attached to it. I like Phillips' work, but it seems that there have been some fanboys of his creeping into the judging panel.

It just happens from time to time that you forget to add something important to your post (even if you've double checked it), so you just wait a few minutes and post again.

That's the general consensus for anyone wanting to get onto this list. The one thing that you'll need to work on is your B/P score, as the 60% bonus that you get to your Voting Power from that will mean it's slightly easier to get into the list.

At 5/30/08 06:12 AM, Thestickcreator wrote: A true Englishman should stick up for their country but isn't anybody worried about the major decline in our lands economy?
I'm not worried about it - the housing prices have seen unsustainable growth for the past 10 years. Why has it suddently atarted to drop now? Because the price growth was unsustainable.
The amount of people using cheques instead of money out of the bank last year was much higher than the previous year.
I use my credit card, rather than cash whenever possible - that way I can sort myself out with paying off the bill at the end of the month, improving my credit rating, so that I'll have a better chance of getting a competitive mortgage when I get into the housing market.
I mean, all that work from our Victorian forefathers to make England the bigest empire has been wasted by those greedy socialist MPs from labour and Conservative. NHS is a great example of a falling economy.
Shows perfectly how much you know here - socialism is something espoused by Labour, by all means, but the Conservatives baulk at the very thought. How can the NHS be an example of a failing economy?!
Yes, we had a great empire, but when you're spending more money on running the constituent parts of the empire, I think it's about time we let them prove how they can run themselves better. Let us look at Zimbabwe, for example, as Robert Mugabe is doing a great job there.
Our economy is suffering, but not failing, because of the mortgage crisis from the US, coupled with the large amount of fuel duty raising the prices so much. If they cut that in favour of other taxes, it would help the economy. The question is, where else could they generate such a revenue from? The place they can generate it from is by taxing the high-end earners with a super income tax, that takes around 30p in the pound, for people earning more than £100,000 per annum. Of course, you could raise this exponentially, for people like Premiership Footballers, who deserve to invest their vast wages back into the country that they play in.
did any of you chappies hear that they're knocking down St Richards and keeping the horrinle Worthing hospital.
No I didn't know that, but the Conservatives closed my local hospital some years ago in favour of the large, new hospital which was built outside Worcester - The Royal, which isn't exactly the best hospital in the world.
Heather Mills-McCartney was being driven around the countryside in her limo.
Suddenly a cow walked into the road and, unable to stop in time, the limo hit the cow.
Slightly shaken up, the driver went to see if the cow was alright. 'Is it alright?' asked Heather . The driver prodded the cow with his foot and shook his head.
'No ma'am, it's dead.'
'Well you were driving, so you can go tell the farmer what happened!' So the driver went off to the nearby farm.
A couple of hours later he came back holding a bottle of wine, his clothes scruffy and messed up.
'Oh my god, what happened to you?' Heather exclaimed.
'Well ma'am,' explained the driver, 'the farmer gave me this bottle of wine, the farmer's wife gave a kiss and their daughter made love to me.'
'Just what the hell did you say to them?'
'I'm Heather Mills-McCartney's driver and I've just killed the cow.

Joba seems to have the stuff, the question is will he be physically/mentally capable to keep it in through the transition.
He's taken what else the opposition and the media have thrown at him so far, so I think he's up to the task mentally. Physically speaking, he's young, so he should have no trouble coping with it - he was a starter in the lower leagues, so that shouldn't be an issue.
Still, I like how Girardi is handling him carefully by having him pitch more than 1 inning in his last few outings and giving him more days off in between.
Definitely a quality coaching decision.
I'd also like the oh-so-rushed Jim Moloney of MLB.com to check his facts before he finishes an article about the votes. Here's what he wrote:

Hopefully, he'll have more chances in Montreal, which is a street circuit, but not as slow as Monaco. I'd like to see him do well, as the underdogs deserve their moment in the spotlight every now and again.
It´s just like when Alonso hit Heidfeld on the hairpin.
It's harder to get excited about that, since Heidfeld has a car that is capable of competing for points every race weekend, whereas Sutil really doesn't. Get him on a car breaking circuit and he could do well, since if he doesn't get his car killed by the track conditions, he could use his more reliable, but slower engine to a great advantage.

Yeah, he drove it well, despite the early tyre issues - if you're going to have them, have them then, when your mechanics can fill you up with a fat car, so you don't lose much out on the road.
Other people that deserve a mention are Nakajima who finished 7th, which isn´t too bad, and Kovaleinen who finished 8th after starting last. I missed qualifying so i don´t know why he started last, but he didn´t do too bad :)
Yeah, Kudos also to Adrian Sutil, who was about to reach his career best finish of 4th, all for Raikkonen's best efforts to avoid hitting him smashing the poor lad's rear suspension.
Also, Raikkonen finished 9th so he didn´t get any points, letting Hamilton take the championship back :D
He tried to do something that wasn't his natural race - he tried to be concservative, to avoid tripping over Sutil. A few other incidents involving Ferrari front wings have proven that he's still trying to drive on the ragged edge in Monaco. Not wise, unless you have the finesse in driving of, say, Jenson Button, for example. Kovalainen knew exactly how to nudge him out of the way in that chicane :P
