The only reference I have for as3.0 help is this blog, emanuele feronato, but it's a lot of specific stuff I think, so likely not what you're looking for, still helpful though.

As for the art question, of cooouuurse the score would go down if it's unoriginal artwork. You may have to do some searching a seek out an artist yourself, or, create the engine, use some sprites to fill it in, and then make a new thread with that to show. That would have more appeal to artists then just a broad idea.

That was a impressive response length for the internet. My general advice here is to look at a few different pictures of the real life object you're trying to draw, make note of a few outstanding properties, and emphasize them in your representation, which is pretty much, 'draw it like it.' Try doing a google image search for gatling gun and looking through those. Your picture is pretty much the bear minimum of getting the point across that it's a gatling gun.

I don't pay any fees when I deposit to my bank account, but I guess it's because I'm in the USA. It is a bit strange that they don't accept paypal as a form of payment though...

It highlights the dissonance between moral business practices and effective business practices. Maybe it stops a few quality developers from going to him, but I guess the misdirected traffic pushes the balance for him. Plus he likely only cares about money, not image. A site run by one person can only go so far these days with kongregate destroying the quality flash game market, and I guess on the other side of the spectrum addictinggames destroying the cheap game market. It seems less and less profitable to be an independently owned game site with big names taking over.

The cleveland show was really not bad. Trainwreck is not a word I would use to describe it. The fact that there is now a fat son, a baby, and a daughter is a bit lame in itself, because it feels like family guy, but the characters have enough variety to make it feel new. I also liked the fact that it had a coherent plot, sure family guy has plot, but this show kept to it much better. They do cut aways, but I never really got tired of those anyway.

Overall it wasn't amazing, but it made me laugh, and is definitely much better than I expected from what I heard about it.

Hero is a pretentious 21 year old going to a fashion design college. Everyone he meets makes fun of him and he murders them all and wears their skins sewn together.

Madness plot is essentially who kills, where they kill, maybe a little why they kill, but mostly just the killing.

both? collect fuel and boosts separately and use them at separate times? or have the boost automatically trigger on pick up and have fuel be triggered by the player. fuel use gives more control while boosts give an extra effect of speed increase and excitement. You could even have both triggered by the player.

If you choose one, I think boosts would be more entertaining, gives a sense of suspense as you try and wait as long as possible before using them, plus it's more fun when you use one. This is where I often get plans jumbled though, trying to decide which combination of elements to use....

Eh, when I first started I always had people who I could ask programming questions, and I still do I just ask fewer and more complicated questions. Not that I am volunteering, I'm just saying there are people who wouldn't mind talking to you and answering your questions. Maybe try messaging some people that you see around the forum and starting up some friendly convo.

True they can, but ag has no reason to fake the emails, and I don't think it's reasonable to assume zuggz did the work expecting no compensation, which is the argument that would have to be made because he without a doubt could prove he did the work. Plus I think there were other people who contributed and got a split so they would be witnesses. Though since it's an international issue I have even less of an idea of the logistics but it's probably enough of an issue that having a trial is a fantasy...

I just didn't want "you are not entitled to the money" to convince zuggz to forget the issue all together. Also didn't read that he already emailed ag and such... >_>

Another point I forgot to mention is that the artist signed a contract with ag licensing something he didn't have full ownership to. That probably has some legal ramifications to.

But anyways... I hope the communications with ag goes well, and that the fgl guys try to help you out too.

I could say to you "You mow my lawn and I'll give you $10" and then not pay you and you can't do anything besides piss on my lawn. That's the problem with the internet, it's exactly the same and unless you've got the best lawyers in the world you'll get nowhere.

Except that verbal contracts are legally binding, if I had a recording of you saying I'll pay you $10 if you mow my lawn then I could sue you for those $10, but I wouldn't because it's $10 and for that reason it's a stupid example to begin with. The "best lawyers in the world" argument is also ridiculous the law doesn't change because you have better lawyers, it's either possible or it's not.

Proof is everything, if you can prove beyond doubt that he agreed to pay you $2000 for xx work and then didn't pay and therefore broke the terms, sure, but without being able to prove it beyond reasonable doubt you're not going to get anywhere. Emails count for nothing unless you can prove they came from him. It sucks, it really does, but that's how it works.

I really extremely doubt that it's true that emails can't be used as legal documents. The artist did sign a contract with addictinggames and zuggz mentioned trading emails with them, I would think a corporation producing emails and you producing emails that both show the same thing would be usable in court. Plus there's the fact that zuggz did the work, and it would be completely unreasonable to argue he was doing it for free, and then it's a question of how much money was he promised and all of the emails and reasonable logic would show that $2000 is a realistic amount and the amount he was promised. Also this is the united states, so some uk program, and uk law really have nothing to do with the situation.

Point being, it's completely ridiculous to say he couldn't get the money legally for the reasons you are using. Also while I'm admitting I really don't know what the laws are you seem entirely sure about what you're saying, which I don't see why you could be unless you've had some real experience with trying to retrieve money using the legal system in a situation like this.

One thing I hadn't noticed was that zuggz is in Canada, so I would think that complicates it a bit, besides that he couldn't practically get to california to sue the guy...

Unless you legally signed a contract you're entitled to nothing

The fact that he and his partner agreed that he'd get 2000 is a contract, he is legally entitled to the money his partner stole from him, and I don't doubt that a court would rule in favor of zuggz to get the money. I just don't know anything about going through that process and how much it would cost or anything like that. He's definitely 'entitled' to the money though.
