Topic: Animator wanted - $100 US payment

And in a nutshell Denvish - that's what I was hoping for.

Meh, it's probably my fault I didn't make it very clear. Also, the process I said to go through is way over-complicated, so! Any *NEW* animators who would like to animate a song for me (ANY song they'd like to from my homepage at thecampanulas.com) drop me a line. 100 dollars for doing it!

Jeez, that was so much simpler! :)

Thanks all!

I totally agree with Probo and Kraig. As I said, the 100 wasn't 'payment' 'cause to pay someone for all that kind of work; I think at least 600 would be nearer the mark and if I could afford that I'd do it! ;)

It's a token of appreciation for assistance. I could have just asked if anyone wanted to help out, not mentioned money at all, and taken, I think, far less flack. My bad, maybe?

Decent. Reasonable. It doesn't have to be world-shattering. Noobs may apply! ;)
Post a link to your work on thecampanulas.com forum. There's no strict time limit on when it needs to be done by. Pressure will be minimal. This needs to be fun for all concerned, or there's not a lot of point!

Well, a guy can try. I take issue with me underestimating the work involved in animation, I've made 3 flash animations myself (on a different account) - I know how hard it is. The offer was more an incentive to anybody who was considering doing something like this anyway.

I also take issue with the claim I could potentially make thousands from it - I have no desire whatsoever to cheat anyone out of their due. As stated on my full details, copyright to the animation would entirely remain with the animator - the one stipulation was that I could freely distribute it. That doesn't mean I could sell it!

Fair comments, however. Like I said, this was a suggestion for people looking for a project. The 100 dollars isn't payment per se - more a bonus!

Hi Newgrounders

*Mods note: I'm not trying to multiple-post, I believe a Mod directed me here as my first post was in the wrong thread. Ta! :)

Full details for this can be found on my forums at thecampanulas.com but basically the shizzle is this: I'd really like to have a Flash Animation made for a particular song entitled 'Holographic Snow' which I could then use as a promotional tool for my band - and also, because I just want to see it.

If you're looking for this kind of project for your next Flash, please consider it. The song is about 4 minutes long and kind of spacey-rock.

If you are interested (or you know someone who might be), please pop along to The CamPanulas forums, read the sticky notice which gives all the details and post a couple of links to previous work. The closing date for artists asking to be considered is Wednesday 4th July, 12.00 GMT

After that date, forum users will take a vote and the winning animator will be asked to begin. On completion of the Flash, you'll be paid 100 US dollars or the equivalent for the work. I know it's not a fortune but think of the Kudos!

You do not have to be the total mutt's nuts as an animator!

Many thanks!

That's nice of you to say so - maybe if I hadn't smoked so long I could have done it myself, but I'm sure somebody could do it better justice!

Greets! The other day I released the flash music video 'Yoshi, a message for you' which went down pretty well... well, now I've recorded the sequel song '(I Wanna Do It) With Princess Peach', ok, great, but the fact is - and I've always known it - I can't sing for f'kin toffee.

So anyone out there with a good voice for a speedy punk-pop-rock song? It's in C Major, and it'll be good fun if you've got the right vocals to be frontman for Kombat Shroom!

You can hear the unmixed basic track complete with crappy placeholder vocals (to give you some idea) at this link: Raw Song

Don't let the voice put you off - if you reckon you can do it better (and it's hard to see how you could fail) get in touch with me at co.mcphee@yahoo.com

If you cut it, I can send you the lyrics and the raw Audacity file of the song or in MP3 or WAV format to stick your vox on top, depending on how you do things. It's all pretty flexible.

Once the song's done it'll go on the Audio Portal and eventually become a flash video - which I have started, God knows when I'll finish!
