Topic: Is there a tutorial for Advanced AI

Posted: 04/16/06 05:13 PM

Forum: Flash

Wow. AI is so dependant on what your having it for, that it would be really hard to make a tutorial for it. Although, for some kinds of things there are algorithms, like A* for pathfinding and minimax + alhabeta for board games.

You could write a Bot class.
Its faster and more secure.

But Claxor, if its not too much trouble, can you make a slight change to my code? My bot isplaying way way too conservative :(

All I need you to do is slip a " && ammo < 175 " onto the end of the If statement on line 94.
Thanks ^^

Will do :D

I just thought I'd shout that technically you can win without even moving - let everyone else fight it out, then pin Claxor against the edge of the map using his bullet evasion techniques. Then keep him down with a couple of bullets while spraying the remainder. ;)

Yeah, that is my weakness with my evasion :D
I will just have to hope no other bot gets me in a corner^^

I've added a controlable player, so you finally can kick your own bots ass :D (it wasn't as easy to win as I thought :P)

http://img89.imagesh..882457aswar427nc.swf

Arrowkeys to run, mouse to aim and shoot. If you don't move or shoot you will reload, and you cannot both shoot and run at the same time.

Against real bots, I can imagine it would be funny to watch, but I deleted it when I realised it really wasn't going to work. ;)

So you wont participate? :(
