Not trying to be rude here, but I have checked the irc chat a few times just to see who's there.
There is never more than 2 people that I recognize. There is 115 people on the skype chat, all of which I have seen on Newgrounds Chat, and that's still missing quite a few people from NG Chat.

the people in irc do not always stay in the room - they come and go - all through the day. They also tend to work and have lives and aren't glued to the chat. Furthermore a chat community is about meeting new people - not just circlejerking with all the same people you've always known.

You can always invite people to irc to have more people talk there :)

we have our regulars - even if we don't get any new users we still have people to chat with - so we are happy :)
