Its a little bit odd that during a Madness day week with a lot of crazy submissions, a madness submission didnt win. Composer deserves it as many others.

Yea its pretty great stuff, and I would agree it deserves at least the top spot for Thursday. And all the other daily winners and runners-up, made for a fun day. Congrats.

Ahh I'm really glad Tomas et la Fraise took the top spot. It was moving indeed, and the animation was pretty impressive. Other than that I found anything could have really gone anywhere except the lingering Clockday submissions which didn't quite deserve those scores. The afterparty of clockday ended on this day, Aug16. Until next year!

Geez I don't know what I'd put on the top this time around, PandaDog was good, but i just dont know. avalanche!!! was a fun and challenging game, but still really accessible. And PW-T Friends 5/6 and 6/6 ended the game nicely.

Nj ppl doodz!

Now that clock day is over, how long will the aftermath be? That is to say, how long can people like stripes, any Fleeks variation or any Milfred submit crap and it still passes. I think wemay need to get rid of them, because theyre still spamming today. During clock day is pretty funny, but its not ClockDay anymore, therefore all the humour of it goes away.

(On a side note, I made sure I had nothing to do on Aug15 so i could rack up more than 1100 protect points all day, cmon its only once a year.)

Lol the system only fails for one day a year and that special day is today. I myself have gotten quite a few Protect points in the past while, not just today and more than my Blams. Maybe the system is slwoly faultering....should we consider raising the passing score to lets say a 1.8 or a 2.0? probly not..

Hmm, definitely a solid set of top 5 movies. All of them deserve to be there.

Dad's at Work was just comical in every way, cant wait until another DAD movie comes out.
Blamformers was hilarious and a good compilation though some clips could have been better.
The awesome compilation was great. It was good to see more of the "awesome" style but it didnt quite live up to Metal Gear Awesome.
The Paladin series ended on a very high note, fantastic series overall.
Finally, Tracer was good. Interesting visuals style, Im looking forward to seeing how that series continues

Congrats to all the winners and runners up!

The collab had possibly a little too much Linkin park for its own good though. And I saw one persone who took Canadian idiot seriously. I myself am canadian and thought it was absolutely hilarious, but I guess im just one persone :P:P

The Thwomps Movie definitely deserves that spot, it was 20 minutes of pure epic fun! Otherwise it was a pretty close race, so nice job to everyone.

And of course on this fine day we received plenty more wiggi games!!

Health Reminder definitely deserved the number one spot in my opinion. It was of the quality we expect from Doki now. The starfox adventures one was pretty decent, the drawings were very nice but the movie still had its flaws.

And is it just me or was there a crazy amount of wiggi games submitted this day?

Its close, but this one is certainly possibly. I really liked asylum 2 and Machete today. Asylum seems to have a sort of atmospheric feel to it similar to a survival horror type thing, such as Resident Evil. Machete was just all around entertaining.

Good job guyz.

Topic: New Voting System?

At 7/10/04 05:48 PM, Grey-Fox-Leader wrote: I find the thumbs up/thumbs down idea cool, but it will create few problems too. You will have to change all the ratings of the older flash, but how will you change it to be really representative? If you continue with your idea, it will be hard to say how much a flash rated 2.65 can be worth in a percentage scale. You have to be careful with it. And you have to think that a majority of the scores are under 3.00, so under 60 %. For the newbie who comes on Newgrounds for the first time, if he saw 25 movies with a 50 % rate... I think you got my point.

Yea thats another thing, it may be harder for the many newbs to follow if they see so many things with roughly the same score (early after it passes judgement so there are not many vots in total)

And like AlicetheDroog said a little bit before me, its good to affect something the way you want.
And last thing, How will the VOTING POWER work when there are just two options?

Topic: New Voting System?

Posted: 08/06/07 10:08 AM

Forum: NG News

It is a good idea when you think of it that way. But then there are quite a few movies out there that are not good enough to warrant a 5 or bad enough for a 0. Yes, it is true most people vote 5 or 0, but thats usually for getting the blam/protect points and sometimes in the top50. It happens everytime an awesome submission comes into the portal, itll get lets say a 4.40 and then it makes it to the top50 of all time and its score slowly and eventually plummets to something like a 4.25 or 4.24. This is evidence of people voting 0 because they want their favourite submission at the top. But that wont change with the new rating system, these amazing submissions will still lose their superior score and become one with the others. Once a submission actually makes it to the portal, from what i have heard and seen in some reviews, people vote on in for how good it is because it doesnt matter to them whether its score drops or raises 0.01. And the last thing I have to say about the possible new rating system is that it wont be as easy to distinguish the amazing submissions from some of the worse ones. With only 2 options, and people see an ok movie/game what do they do? They may end up voting Thumbs Down or thumbs up and hence receiving the same vote as something horrible or something awesome when it really doesnt deserve it.

Basically I think this idea would be good for some things, but for the most part itll just make things harder to distinguish from each other. And there are still many people who use this current system the way it was meant to be used, by voting 0,1,2,3,4, or 5 accordingly.

There is a Beatles song that i cant remember the name of but playing one part of it backwards results in "Paul is a dead man, miss him, miss him, miss him" eeriieee...
