Organisation and planning is a key part in music creation.
It took me a while to come to grips with this, and I still am, because when you have a song or you are working on it, you just want to dive straight in and come out with an acceptable .mp3 or .wav
I've found though, if you simply take the time to tidy up your layout in the software.. putting tracks and fx channels into groups or folders in the mix, your song becomes a lot easier to work with. Even writing things down, keeping notes on what needs to be done can be a big help ; you can mantain focus on a particular thing, and not get too bamboozled!
It's a simple aspect of audio engineering/audio production, but an important one to me!
Check this crunk out if you could :) Rate and review.

The strongest would have to be Mercury.
Brass is not stronger than steel. But it is more ductile and malleable.
A few off the top of my head:
Cast Iron
High carbon steels (although this makes them brittle)
Titanium
Tungsten Carbide (Material used for tooling quite often in Mechanical Engineering)

I'm still rolling with the ableton live 8.0.4. I use that for making all my Midi, and running the various vst's that I get. Also i find the audio effects are quite interesting (Check the 16bit sound i get from the synth in my song deadhead lurker, its a built in sound on ableton! Just a lil tweekin involved).
But once ive made samples I actually build the structure of my songs, and master EQ everything in Sony Acid Pro, which is a great simple tool to use.
Recently just got cubase, struggling to get used to it though :(

for example... http://spamtheweb.com/ul/upload/090709/4 9218_kickasss.mp3
here's a rough of something I might submit once... of course I get the actual work done on it.
This would be somewhere's near the middle-late section since it's Hardstyle based around 150 BPM
and if an artist submitted a house piece or ambient, it'd be near the beginning.
When I get out of work today I'll do up the rough structuring
but please keep the thread going and flowing with more ideas!
Thats quite an easy basis to go onto :) It would be interesting for me to try and get a sort of rocky/industrial or even drum and bassy beat into that :D
Well if people are keen about it, we should do it. The only thing I think is, we cant have every single person who's volountered, we need like a capped ammount of artists for the colab.
Names out a hat or something?

Oh and how do you do the music disc link thingy??

Look at the old line-ups L.O.G, Metallica and loads more metal bands, still this year sounds a bit better then last years I wouldn't mind going.
Its a lot better line up than last year. I mean My Chemical Romance??

You mean, festival.
Who's going?
I for hell am going, Korn , Slipknot, Fath No More, Marilyn Manson, Prodigy, Pendulum, Billy Talent, Limp Bizkit!!!!!!
I think theres rumours that Down (Lead singer of Pantera's band) are playing.
Whats the band you want to see most, definately Prodigy for me.
Hmmm, yeah, Im using abletons drums samples at the moment, Ive just managed to get a pack of samples, havent gone through them yet... I'll let you know what theyre like..
You looking for acoustic/rock sounding drums?
Usually my songs come off of a beat, a nice riff, or some lyrics.
Once ive got the base foundation down, the rest of it seems to come surging to me, im hit with ideas left right and centre!!!!!!!!!
My mind is unravling so soon

An interview with Avenged Sevenfold's producer, he told how they got such a fat and massive sound out of their rhythm guitars. What they did was play the same guitar through 4 different types of amps with two mics on each cab. Each amp gives you a different range, and when fused together, it provides a massive and that highly sought-after studio sound.
You want to have the same guitar line going through all of them, not a redo. It MUST be linked together and played through all of your amps at the same time. You will get a very noticeable chorus effect if you try to play the line multiple times through different amps.
For example, you can use a Mesa head and cab to capture your lows, but it ends up muddy. So you also record it though a Marshall head and cab to get your highs. This is just one combo of two amps, which sounds fairly decent.
If you're recording through a line6 toneport or something, just simulate each of the different amps in the left and right channels, then mix them down to a single mono channel.
That sounds good, i do have 3 amps that I can use! I shall get cracking with that.
Also, i was thinking of something similar to this. Maybe make a 6 track, 3 for the left ear, 3 for the right, in pairs covering low mid and high. Reckon that would sound good?

Hey there,
I'm really finding it hard to get my riffs and sounds from the guitar, to the computer, without it sounding bad quality. I'm trying to capture a heavy distortion sound, much like NIN's guitar in we're in this together.
It comes out alright for the equipment ive got, but again, i want better! I've tried mic'in it up, and straight from the amp to the microphone socket. But it feels like theres not a full tone, and its insanely annoying to EQ.
Does anyone have any tips or tricks for recording and eq'in a guitar with distortion, or any nice vst links that could make my sound a bit more full?
Composing an absoloute master piece (ha, by masterpiece i mean something that sounds good to you =P) Nearly just about to bounce it down and finish the master.
Oh I'll just go make a cup of tea quickly.
Come back upstairs, Little cousin has closed down Sony Acid WITHOUT saving, and is playing bloody neopets.
Great :P
I started playing keyboard and piano at the early age of 9, so about 10 years ago that was now. I was taught to a good standard with that for 4 years, bringing me to 13 years of age. I stopped getting lessons for keyboard (As they started playing Britney Spears). And since 13 I've self taught at guitar, and singing :)
Understanding Music Theory can be a big bonus to musicians... But those who say they don't bother learning it are talking bullshit. Creating Music requires music theory, despite how simple (Chord progressions, Note lengths e.t.c) or however technical it may be.
I've found that from my early days of learning the keyboard, and having a basic understanding of music theory.. I've been able to learn and pick up certain techniques by myself, thus my musical theory is increasing every day, as should everyone elses =)
You'll be fine! My friends lungs started bleeding once though.... turns out he got cancer from that one time of smoking it
PSYC
Nice little VST site here which I use :) It's got some nice bass synthesizers with some nice osc effects :) Vst's
I've taken acid before, but not shrooms, but im guessing the effects are sorta round the same margin.. Just dont fight the high! Ride on it like its a yeti.
