Mines nearly finished now :)

The genre will be Russian Folk!

Response to: [help] can't make this tune Posted November 15th, 2009 in Audio

Whats the specific sound your trying to make?

The bass goes with the bass drum at 1:27 and no bass when there's snares to emphasize the snare.

And you know what, I'll probably do the same thing eventually. Just not EVERY TRACK.

If someone does every single track they do, or some stupid 10 second track, then that's a bit too much.

I'd like the OP off on this one, but if he keeps doing it, that warrants a lock.

I think maybe we should keep it to one thread then, one thread where anyone can ask what genre it is.

Cause I have a few tracks that I'm not sure what genre it is, but i've never posted incase of advertising!

I too think it is an art, it's the way to do it. But when you can create samples on your own, that's when the datum.

You are accepted. Also, the final date for the dealines will be the 25th December.
Any applications after this date must be turned down. The running order will be announced afterwards.

So does that mean the submission deadline has changed from the 2nd of December to the 25th... or am I being illiterate again..

Response to: What do you guys use? Posted November 8th, 2009 in Audio

There a millions of threads for this man..

But Cubase, Nuendo and Ableton I use.

I started off recording with Kristal, and then moved on to Sony Acid.

I've used studio one too and fruityloops.

But Cubase has satisfied me.

Response to: How do you guys/gals eq and master? Posted November 8th, 2009 in Audio

I run through and play the song many a times. I pick out the best characteristics of the sounds, low mid high, and boost those certain tones. Then I cut off the ranges that aren't really needed or make not that much difference, and Voila!

It is pretty damn sexy!!! But this is the first time I've used a steinberg product. Well worth the money I think.

Response to: Opinions on Studio One. Posted November 5th, 2009 in Audio

I've used this for a few months, it was easy to use. But not very in depth. There was something about it that I didn't like, I can't remember what, i think it was something like automation...

It's not worth it for the price, when you've got software like Cubase or nuendo out there, even sonys old acid was better, i thought.

A little bit of a mess around I did the other day.

Might tickle a few l4d fans, with voice samples of Frances saying 'I don't feel to good, i think i'm going to puke' followed by numerous boomer sounds to portray Frances being sick

Enjoy :D

Response to: How do I make DubStep music? Posted November 1st, 2009 in Audio

Ahh cool, dubstep dnb would be cool.

Any sequencer should be good to make it with, Ableton, Cubase, Nuendo, Reason. Fruity loops maybe?

I'm guessing you will be using samples or midi?

Response to: Music creation tips/guide lines Posted November 1st, 2009 in Audio

Wow Box - Killa, you really have a way with words today.

What you said I found really insightful...

Response to: How do I make DubStep music? Posted November 1st, 2009 in Audio

Average tempo is about 140 BPM

Focus on drums and bass.

Usually the bass has a (slow) oscilating attack envelope.. I think... thats what gives it that 'wah wah wah wah waaaaaah waaaaaaaaah' sound.

Make it grimey, and interesting.

I find with dubstep it gets boring after the first 4 bars, and all my ketamine or pillhead friends listen to it and think it's "Phat".

I posted this song a while back; however, I remastered a few things and tweaked some others so that the drums sound better and that the bass doesn't hurt and grate against your ears. Enjoy, those who cared to even read this!

Aye, I returned the favour :)

Check one of my latest :)

It's a DNB / Techno / Electronica track I guess.

Please leave feedback.

Here's a nice little EQ list, it's just a guidline (mess around with what you thinks good), but remember your hi-cuts and low-cuts.
