Aww, I was reading this and thought it was a great idea. But I guess I can't join :( I have two things submitted, one is under judgment and the other has a score below 3. Both are games and I believe are being scored mostly on the gaming aspect of it. (My AS sucks :D I think I'm good on the animating part though. If I were to make up a sample and it was good enough, do you think i could get a part in this?

I think my friend played it in 5'th grade or something.

Yeaaa. And what grade is your friend in now? The game is still pretty new.
And how is it low? You're saying it's for kids? Lol! If you only knew. Don't be ignorant, it's not like a little kids game dude. Check it out. The majority of people who play are like 20-30. It's so much more than a little kids game.

Response to: I Was Right About The Heroscape Que Posted June 26th, 2007 in General

Haha, congrats.
Yea Q-9 is kickass, and Drake is one hell of a character as well.
There's a new master set coming out soon, I don't know if you've heard of it. Swarm of the Marro, it's sweet. Packed with a bunch of new Marro and resculpts of Drake and Raelin, as well as Q-10. There are also 3 new elve characters, looking awesome. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

I KNEW I wasn't the only one.
Yea, I LOVE this game. I remember seeing the commercials when it came out and I wanted it but just got it 2 years ago for christmas. I've currently got everything that's out minus wave 6 and part of wave 3. And the Flagbearers. I have two Castles at the moment. Amazing game, for all you naysayers...well..I don't know. But this game rocks.

Chad, not sure if you've seen it already but there's a great community of HSers at heroscapers.com.

I frequent those forums and that site is great. It's awesome to see I'm not the only person here that plays haha.

Hey that's pretty cool, thanks it will definitely come in handy.
If you couldn't see it it was a program that shows the number for whatever key you press like a-65 and such. Very handy.

No need to worry about it :D

Response to: Converting music files Posted June 23rd, 2007 in Game Development

Ahh Windows media, so look for a wma to mp3 converter.
You'll probably find a LOAD of results, find whichever one suits you.

Response to: Converting music files Posted June 23rd, 2007 in Game Development

Audacity probably isn't the best program to use for this. I hate how people always suggest it for every task. My suggestion, google Convert music files, or Mp3 to Wav converter or whatever you're looking for. That's how I find that kind of stuff.

Response to: Action Script Help? Posted June 23rd, 2007 in Game Development

Alrighty then, let's try this for your character.

onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
if (Key.isDown(65)) {
this.gotoAndPlay("attack");
}

So, when you press the A button (65) your character movie clip will play the attack animation.
And add this...

onClipEvent (keyUp) {
this.gotoAndStop("standing");
}

so that when you let go of the A button the animation will stop.
This is just one, simple way of doing this.

Also, make sure that your attack animation loops so like if the beginning frame of the attack animation is labeled "attack" then, on the last frame of the animation put this code

gotoAndPlay("attack");

So it will loop until told to do otherwise.
Good luck! Hope this helps, post any questions here or PM me or w/e.

I thought about this last night as I was stocking shelves at ACME and saw a row of it.
I was like...dude...Sugar Crisp?

But yea, probably not that much of a popular cereal anymore so Post, or GM or whoever makes it doesn't spend money on ads for it anymore. We live in a world of Captain Crunch, Fruit Loops, and Cocoa related cereals :D

Well, rather than piss people off and join in another of these stupid arguments, I'll prove that proper spelling and grammar does not exist in this thread.

aethiast =/= atheist
religioun =/= religion
existents =/= existence
Jerusalim =/= Jerusalem (I think)

It'll get worse. I refuse to comment on anything else said in this thread. I'm tired of these stupid posts that just get everyone pissed and yelling about nothing. Has anyone of these threads ever lead to anything? People are too close-minded, ignorant, and stubborn for any thread dealing with religion. That being said, I'm not religious at all.

Noo idea what you're trying to accomplish.

You realize that back when they started, Black Sabbath were also kids, right?
Most bands start young.

I don't think there's one specific era that was the best.
There's great music and great bands and great songs from EVERY era.
Are the 50's-80's considered an era? You're basically saying that you don't like today's music, right?

HA! I beat my time of 3.41

TWICE after this I FELT like I did it faster but when I looked up to see my time it was still going because I looked up before I hit the Z and so I completely missed that key.

I don't even think it is possible to say the whole alphabet in your head in 3.41 seconds. :-p

My best time was 6.48 seconds, which is pretty mediocre. I see some of you guys have terrible times, even exceeding over nine seconds.

( 5

Very true, I can't say it in my head in 3.41 seconds. Can you say it in your head in 6.48? I can type most things faster than I can say them. Try it out, you probably can too. :-P

How fast can you type the alphabet?

Gah! I kept mistyping and then hitting backspace to correct it, just out of habit lol.
These are all the high scores I had as I got faster.
I spent like 20 minutes on this. Once I got to 4.44 I kept getting like .10 seconds slower than that. I had a hard time on the everything after that as well.

High score 7.95 s
High Score 7.13 s
High score: 4.95 s
High score: 4.44 s
High score: 4.11 s
High score: 3.95 s
High score: 3.86 s
High score: 3.83 s
High score: 3.66 s
High score: 3.63 s
High score: 3.42 s
High score: 3.41 s

I'm having a really hard time beating that so I'll take a break for now.
abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz, WHEW!
