I like it, but at the beginning his arm is white and cuts out the background while the rest of his body is see-through. :-P

Why did you start another topic for the follow up to this question?

Response to: Bttn proplem Posted February 17th, 2008 in Game Development

Did you try it without the root and parent infront of it? If you're going to a new scene you don't need to go to the root or parent of the button. You're going to a new scene in the entire movie so your code would be:

on(release) {
gotoAndPlay("Scene 2", 1)
}

Simple as that.

You can see it, it hosts it on it's own page. Like so:

That's the updated version, btw. I fixed the body turn.

I still can't decide if I should end it there. Originally I planned for like a random explosion but that's what people expect. I kinda like how it just stops, haha. What do you guys think?

There's one I did real quick, dunno if that's what I'm actually submitting though. If I do use it I'll fix the body turn, for right now it's just for fun.

Too choppy, it's very distracting and doesn't really look good. Smooth it out, more frames. And work on your animation a bit if you want to keep your slot, he may replace you.

Response to: The Sketch Collab 08' Posted February 10th, 2008 in Game Development

Wow, F-Ninja. You posted your link like 10 times. 1 was enough. And stop posting every 10 minutes just to say "Hi guys" you've like quadposted 3 times in this thread. Calm down dude. You don't need to constantly post just because. Wait until there's actually a reason, relating to something in this thread, to post.

Response to: The Sketch Collab 08' Posted February 9th, 2008 in Game Development

post the swf, it makes it a lot easier on everyone else so we don't have to download your movie. Also, right now anyone has access to your hard work. Export and then upload that.

I know there are some out there. I'll see what I can find.

No you didn't, you asked for part 3. I took part 4.

ninjitsuwarrior
Chillidog

and I think SkySausage is a maybe.

You may want to flip them around, they're in reverse order, I was the first. I'm only saying this because as people want to join spots close up and I want to ensure that I actually get mine since I requested first.

The list of new requests to join, starting from when dumass went offline should be..

SkySausage (maybe)
ChilliDog -part 4
ninjitsuwarrior
7law
flashfrog - part 3
pieman123
3v1l_G3n1u5
Maskman
blindsniper
fat-barry

There were only 8 spots left when dumass went offline, 10 people have requested to join. blindsniper and fat-barry were the last.

I'll take slot 4 if that's alright. Also, I like the preloader but I expected to lines to erase when the eraser hit them, not the pencil.

Response to: Paying $$$ for Flash Games Posted November 29th, 2007 in Game Development

Are you looking for anything in particular or just games?
Also, are you looking for people to continue to make games for your site or just looking for a few submissions?
And will you remain open to submissions (with and without pay) in the future?

Response to: want someone good with ac Posted November 29th, 2007 in Game Development

Try those tutorials again. In fact, try them until you do understand them. No one is really going to want to just teach you AS. ESPECIALLY if you're not even willing to try learning a little bit on your own. If you can't take the time and have the patience to try to figure something out just a little bit, why should anyone come and help you out at all?

Think about what you're trying to do right now. No need to learn AS all at once, that would be overwhelming. Think about one thing you're trying to accomplish in flash right now, such as a button, and look that up. Watch tutorials, check out AS:Main, all that good stuff. And if you STILL don't understand it, or have any questions, then ask somebody. You're asking a lot from someone, just because "tutorials don't work for you." That's being stubborn and lazy. Go and look up what you're trying to do, learn a little at a time.

Could you give us a little more info about the group?
What you do?
What you want to do?
Where you want to go?
What kind of people (other than animators n whatnot) are you looking for?
And other such things...

Response to: Masks in flash Posted November 14th, 2007 in Game Development

Ok, I just went through that section of the tutorial and have no idea what you're talking about...Just use layers. Put the chainsaw on a layer behind the victim but infront of the killer.

Response to: Replay Button help needed. Posted November 14th, 2007 in Game Development

Replay buttons don't hurt, makes it nice and easy for people. You make it the exact same you you make your play button. Say your play button is something like this:

on(release) {
gotoAndPlay(1)
}

Your replay button would be the exact same thing, you're just taking them back to the beginning.

For the love of Jesus, can we PLEASE understand that "your" does NOT mean "you are?" It's YOU'RE. This thread is killing me.

Anyway, I'd agree with those who say to find a happy medium, if you can. However I'd suggest doing whatever you feel more comfortable with.

Response to: Writer Posted June 29th, 2007 in Game Development

Yea, people make posts like this all the time and get torn apart.
Mostly because they feel that they do all the hard work, hours and hours to make a great looking flash, and the writer gets his name in it just because he came up with an idea. Which is mostly true, and not too many people find that very appealing.

Try flash out for yourself, it's a lot of fun and you'll be able to put your own ideas into something. Practice enough and you'll be making great looking flashes yourself :D
