Response to: Mass Immigration In Europe Posted September 15th, 2014 in General

If the cultures that are being ruined are truly superior to the immigrator's culture, then there is no reason to worry. If what you've implied about European culture is true, then the immigrants will simply not be able to adapt to the culture or will simply be economically priced out of the best areas the "superior" culture has to offer.

I'm not going to call you a racist, nationalist, fearmonger, etc because assuming you're serious, these would most likely be inaccurate labels. The only problem I have is that you make immigrants out to be a tactical invasion force hellbent on removing the current culture from existence. While this might be the case in some situations and places, the majority move to a new place either for a new culture or to escape their old one in hopes they can make a better life.

Really?

That's asking quite a bit too much I think.

This was my first thought in regards to this post. The only responses you're likely to get are from smartasses, people with experience in regards to those you want to ask, and people who may have some form of non-debilitating mental disorder.

Response to: Collapse of Industrial Civilization Posted March 20th, 2014 in General

A very well written document, but it fails to account for a lot of things. It lacks the variables of human innovation and creativity, and it uses data that is centuries old. As "advanced" and "complex" old societies were like the Romans and the Mayans, and as impressive as some of their architecture and accumulated wisdom were, they are nothing and had nothing like what we have today.

Even though it was briefly touched on and mentioned that we are a technologically advanced society, I feel that this was vastly underrepresented. We are at the point that even if, for example, America declined and fell to the point where it wasn't a civilization anymore, society as we know it would STILL in some semblance exist. "Americans," could with very high possibility find somewhere that they are comfortable living just like their old lifestyle.

The math and models are simplistic, yet effective at looking at a controlled and predictable universe, or should I say experiment setting. But when it comes to measuring not only a group of humans but an entire society, things get messy. For many years there have been many environmentalist and mathematicians saying that our planet is in danger, that our society is in danger, and yet we have thrived. Sure, we may have problems, but the "first world" has the highest life expectancies and the most preserved knowledge of any recorded society to date.

Response to: English Class Posted March 9th, 2014 in General

The simplest answer is that you don't need the information it is truly trying to convey.

The more difficult to accept answer, or perhaps the answer that is harder to see is the very thing it's trying to teach you. You're supposed to learn about themes and the meaning behind the work, not just the structure of the language. The goal isn't to teach you to speak "proper" English, the goal is to make you think for once.

As for the ebonics, here is some food for thought...Many of Shakespeare's works were written for the common, low-class citizen. In its time there was nothing proper about him, he practically invented the 'yo momma' joke as we know it today.

Response to: A boy got hit by a train yesterday Posted March 9th, 2014 in General

Playing near a train is a bad idea at any age, at least I never had the temptation to do so while growing up. To be fair, I live near a train and see/ hear them everyday so their dangers are readily apparent, but you would think that seeing a multi-ton high speed monster coming at you would be a deterrent rather than a challenge.

One less kid to deal with. Perhaps in life they were good at some things, maybe even intelligent, but now they will only be remembered as some retarded that was doing stupid shit, and I don't feel the least bit sorry for them.

Response to: Dying Posted March 9th, 2014 in General

Even though you have no personal or empirical evidence to support this claim, lets just say nothing is after death, just a blank expanse of nothing for all eternity.

Like I would care, I wouldn't be able to even realize it. If my consciousness really was snuffed out, and I somehow KNEW this was what was going to happen, it doesn't make death any less scary, you're just a pussy displacing your fears on other people.

Wear that fedora proudly, coward.

Name 4 of his songs without Google.

I only know two, one of which is "Get up Stand up," from Rockband 3, and "One love," I fucking hate both of them. Any time I hear anything like these songs or ANY FUCKING FORM of raggae, I get the urge to find the nearest rainbow wearing, peace loving faggot and violate their eye sockets.

Response to: loyalty is overrated. Posted February 27th, 2014 in General

Loyalty is a part of the issue of trust. In romantic relationships, one could potentially earn trust by being loyal to their partner. This prevents the increased risk of sexual diseases or a pregnancy that results in one of the partners not being the parent. In certain circumstances, loyalty is a building block on which a lot of society hinges upon. In some cases it can be a virtue, while in other situations it can be a vice.

Loyalty to the exclusion of merits such as justice or reason can be called, in most cases, a vice. But when you look at loyalty from its most common standpoint, its roots lie in cooperation and survival. Without trust and in some cases, loyalty, very few long term things can ever be accomplished.

You can accomplish great things being full of yourself. I've always thought it was funny how you're always taught that anyone with a shred of confidence is an egotistical asshole... but then we wonder why everyone has shitty self worth and kills themselves so much....

People with egos are generally annoying to most people not because of any religious value, they're just insufferable shits. People who are full of themselves are generally assholes that don't care about the average person or if they do, it's usually how they can use that person to further their own status.

Bad things come from having a big head, and is generally not worth the small reward of having one.

Response to: Movie Piracy Posted February 25th, 2014 in General

I honestly don't care. The movie business is paid for with millions upon millions of dollars, and if they lose any money I really don't care. I don't care about the actors, the producers, I don't care about their families and honestly while I wouldn't love to see them starve one day, I might get a good chuckle out of it.

As for you selling them for $10 to other people, I still don't care. If people want to make a transaction for pirated property intellectual or otherwise that has very little to do with the benefit of mankind or a person/ small organization in need of the funds, there's no problem to be had.

The bigger the establishment, corporation, entity, or anything that is trying to get ahead as a private nonessential enterprise you're stealing from, the better. While I don't support or advise against stealing from these things, I most certainly don't see it as some sort of sin, nor do I see a reason to stigmatize you for it.

Response to: Hobbies for the poor Posted February 25th, 2014 in General

It's settled, stalking is now the new hobby for people with little to no income.

Hobbies for the poor Posted February 24th, 2014 in General

Many hobbies require a large amount of money to get into, whether it be music or computer building. For example, if you have always been passionate about drums, it's very likely you can't go out and buy an entire kit. So far the cheapest (and still playable by my drummer friend's standards) drum set I've found was about 100 dollars used. There are pedals that cost 20-30 dollars just by themselves, and that's a single pedal.

I want to know if any of you have hobbies that are cheap/ free, or if you have an expensive one, how you originally got into it. And by hobbies I don't simply mean surfing the web or cleaning your house, I mean things that can be considered a talent or productive in usage.

Response to: Religious child beating. Posted February 24th, 2014 in General

As a religious man myself, I find beating a child for not believing in your religion to be appalling. If people are to progress they need to think for themselves, and it's particularly important to let a child decide what they can to develop a sense of self or identity and a logical cognitive process. Any parent that beats their child for not being in their religion is either an idiot, or has some questionable religious beliefs.

I completely agree with HappyWhale in regards to the interview and with the majority of people saying that msnbc is a terrible news distributor. Your arguments about how the government uses media -

Remember you don't have to watch any media at all, you have choice as to what you want to watch and you can most certainly make your own media if you so choose. The government is not responsible for what you do or do not watch.

Scientist according to this, this, and this are all sources that support the idea that the Earth can effectively hold up to 10 billion, possibly more people. America has 313.9 million people in it according to the United States Census Bureau. India has 1.237 billion and is the size of 1.2 million square miles while America is about 3.8 million square miles according to findthedata.org. I see little if any evidence or statistics supporting your claim that America is limiting its population size.

Your evidence is as weak as your claims are and you're more of an annoyance with this post than anything else. If your goal was to troll, pick a less important topic. If your goal was to misinform a large body of youth to middle aged citizens of various countries (but mostly Americans), I kindly advise you leave and send yourself into exile. You're not well informed, you're not intelligent, and you're certainly not championing any cause against an oppressive government.

Response to: Fading Inspiration Posted February 24th, 2014 in General

I lack almost all ambition and motivation. By setting schedules and deadlines, I have found that things get done regularly and a lot more quickly than if I had waited for inspiration to come along. Occasionally I get really into playing my guitar and go past my regularly scheduled practice time, but when I'm not I sit there and play for at least an hour a day.

Music isn't necessarily similar to drawing, and I have little experience in the field of 'art,' but if you haven't tried it, see if scheduling and planning work for you.

Response to: Is publishing on NG good? Posted February 24th, 2014 in General

Newgrounds is a decent place to start, as you continue to contribute content you slowly build a portfolio of judged, criticized, and viewed content. Nothing is stopping you from posting games on other sites just because you posted it on Newgrounds, so even if you think Newgrounds is minimally worth it you should keep it as a side project at least.

Response to: What if cops Posted February 24th, 2014 in General

As questionable as the majority of the NG fanbase is, it's far from the most law-breaking or morally questionable sites out there. In addition, not every user is completely anonymous. There have been times where people (Sir Tom) who have been acted upon by the law, but they are far and few in between. So long as people don't cross a shit ton of lines or go on a serious, planned out rant about how you're going to endanger people, you have nothing to worry about.
