Does anyone have a reason why there are U.S. troops in so many nations around the world?

I don't want to go to the most sinister angle possible.

Mostly because it is legal for us to operate in such a fashion, it is in fact desirable for many nations.

"In addition, the parties approved of U.S.-Russian cooperation in this field in 2013-2014, which envisages exchange of experience including in monitoring and forecasting emergency situations, training of rescuers, development of mine-rescuing and provision of security at mass events."
I know it was said that it won't happen but the agreement allows for it right?

I was in a Kung-Fu class for about a year, and the sensei pretty much overstressed the fact that Kung-fu, like any other martial art, is pure self defense

That isn't remotely true it depends on the style you learn. Martial arts can easily be sorted into offensive, defensive, and both.

(Grappling, striking, hybrid etc for more precise classifications. )
Tomoi
Bak Mei
Snake style is entirely offensive type from the Shaolin.

You can find plenty of modern hybrids too.

Blackwater does it in Iraq. Give enough leeway and enough money and you'll have a very strong security force.

You can't be serious, are you comparing Blackwater with some low paid security officer who wouldn't have any actual authority to the gangs he'd be trying to run, he'd get shot.

How do we truly know this? With all the media and activists around they could have just said that so they wouldn't get harassed by those who knew who they were.
lol

I can't take anything you say seriously when the backbone of one of your major arguments is "It's just a bunch of what if's" and then you go off with "What if..."

I do hope that no one is actually taking you seriously at this point

That is an entirely legitimate point. What ifs aren't good legal arguments in these kinds of cases. You need proof beyond a reasonable doubt that Zimmerman was not in a situation where he could be in fear of great bodily harm. That is the prosecution's burden Xenomit.

Zimmerman's actions to follow TM were not illegal, but TM assaulting Zimmerman was. We have plenty of proof who received a beating, and none at all that would indicate Zimmerman initiated the altercation to make him somehow guilty of manslaughter.

I never felt those were gang hideouts.

You ever hear of the projects? That is basically a giant gang "hide out" in areas with alot of gang violence.
Exactly, the full name is "public housing projects". They're buildings built and subsidized by the government so that low income people can have housing. I mention these, the problem is that they've been left to rot, there's no security and the people in them are poor meaning they're havens for crime. Chicago has the worst of it all since they were built as large apartment complexes and they've been tearing them down and sending the residents elsewhere.

They aren't taken care of because that would bankrupt places like Chicago. There are situations where they will smash holes into walls so they can evade the police. (Lock the door, go next door through the wall evade capture)
Not to mention people who don't belong there get shot at. You couldn't pay me enough as a security personnel to work in those areas, and what would they honestly be able to do? They'd get shot if they tried to control the gang members.

Honesty question, could you see yourself willingly working in that environment as security?

I know black guys with iced grills who play Jazz Swing and Big Band, fix cars at cost for their friends, volunteer with Church groups.

That isn't racism, that is called perception. If you don't want considered a thug, don't portray yourself like one.

So Trayvon Martin died because Zimmerman was carrying a gun that was supposed to be used on dogs? Last time I checked, black people aren't dogs.

Way to take my comment out of context, my entire point was he wasn't patrolling the neighborhood with a gun looking for somebody to shoot. He had it hopefully prevent a dog from ripping out his wife's throat. It is his legal right to carry and he obtained his legally. Unlike how TM went about getting his.

I don't know how to get it through to you guys, following someone isn't illegal. Assaulting someone is, which even Jeantel says TM probably punched first.

Response to: Zimmerman Found Not Guilty Posted July 18th, 2013 in General

SYG requires reasonable belief, if a guy turned around and was headed back after he said "OK" which is what the evidence points to, TM was not standing his ground.

Also regardless of what you think the operator still doesn't have more authority then Zimmerman and still did not tell him to stay put

"We don't need you to do that"

You shouldn't do that.
It is simply a statement.
Stay where you are.
Stay in your vehicle.
Get away from him.
Stop following him.
Do not pursue him.
Wait for officers to arrive.
Get back into your vehicle.

IF it makes you feel better, you can phrase it like a suggestion since they still can't give orders
Do you see the difference between being told not to and simply stating it isn't required? Zimmerman doesn't argue with them regardless though.

Response to: Should the UK routinely arm police? Posted July 18th, 2013 in Politics

And additionally bolt action rifles of ANY caliber and semi automatic .22 rimfire rifles are allowed right? and If I'm not mistaken a mass shooting still happened in 2010, so they can obviously still occur.

Violent crime is decreasing in many countries regardless of gun regulations. Do you also feel that fewer officers will have a positive effect on crime rate?

Response to: Zimmerman Found Not Guilty Posted July 18th, 2013 in General

It doesn't matter, the fact is had he did as told, the whole incident wouldn't have occurred. Zimemrman practically brought it on himself and how long people make a fuss depends on the attention he receives. If he wants to find peace, he should move to a place where he can fall into obscurity so that way with time, the whole thing will eventually blow over. That is as long the media does not Zimmerman him (as in stalking).

Stalking is not what Zimmerman did, and I'm not just nitpicking, in terms of the legality of Zimmerman's actions, stalking is inaccurate.
He was never told to not follow anyone, I'm not sure why people think he was

"We don't need you to do that" Zimmerman says "OK" which as I have stated before is a confirmation, not a statement of protest. He shouldn't need to go into hiding to avoid a public lynching and media harassment.

Of course, if Jeantel, Martin's close friend, says Martin is guilty of throwing the first punch, then who are we to disagree? It would seem she would be interested in protecting Martin's memory, not tarnishing it by stating that she believes he began the physical altercation.

Indeed, I thought she said something different in court though.. hm......

He may have needed a few stitches and have bruises by the time TM was done but she doesn't think he'd kill Zimmerman.
