Topic: Your parents and videogames?

Posted: 04/07/08 01:24 PM

Forum: Video Games

I imagine my parents are much older than most of the posters here, as video games simply didn't exist when they were growing up and even when they were in college. My parents always refused to buy me any video games at all. They did buy some PC games, but never any consoles/console games. As a result I was a PC gamer for a long time and the first console I bought was an Xbox (original). I bought a Game Boy (the original, non-color beige kind) in fifth grade with my own allowance money as they wouldn't buy it. They didn't mind me playing the Game Boy for the most part, but they would often make me stop playing some of the PC games because I would play them for too long, especially Doom and X-Wing. Even though I am grown and moved out for several years now they still refuse to buy video games and accessories for my birthday and Christmas.

That's up to each mod.

Also, I only know of one word that is filtered, are there any others?

Just the one, besides the filters for various "blank post" tricks.

We already delete posts and ban people posting that garbage. As far as word filtering, won't happen, for various reasons.

The staff is all late 20s/early 30s, so I guess they are all sick bastards too. Same with the mods, alot of us are 20s/early 30s.

I'll pretty much always be going to this site as long as it exists.

A lot of the reasoning behind just making the game for the 360's Live Arcade is that they can self-publish as no physical medium is needed (disc, case ect). The Behemoth was screwed over by their publisher when they put out Alien Hominid on the PS2 and Gamecube, and as a result they basically didn't get any money from those sales, which is why AH was subsequently released to every platform (besides PC) known to man, so they could recoup development costs and make some profit. By self-publishing on Live Arcade they will get most of the revenue from the sales of the game (besides Microsoft's cut of course). I'm not sure that WiiWare has an established revenue structure yet, not to mention it's brand new, so they may be waiting to see how it develops first.

When the official list was first created I was ranked #39 and I was as high as #18 at one point. I had more time to b/s back then, and I simply can't keep pace with you kids today. Now get off my lawn.

I have Samuari Warriors 2, and have played the shit out of it (currently at 182 hours on my main game save). Unfortunately the Xtreme Legends expansion has been delayed for the 360, I can't wait. I do want to get DW6 at some point as well.

How long does it usually take?

You have been banned from submitting to the Audio Portal. You used MAGIX to create your audio, which is not allowed on NG because it's license is incompatible with the Creative Commons license that NG uses. The ban is currently permanent but may be lifted at some yet to be determined date in the future.

Posted: 03/18/08 10:28 AM

Forum: Where is / How to?

Newgrounds doesn't need donations, it's doing just fine with advertising...so Platinum Accounts are completely unnecessary . It might have been a good idea back in 02-03, but simply not needed now.

To the OP, as others have said, buy something from the Newgrounds store.

I was over at a friend's house yesterday playing COD3...I had tried to start a 4 person Player Match but his internet was being gay (he currently uses ICS via a laptop to connect, so the NAT is restricted), but it didn't work so I went on Ranked (which is single player of course) just to show him the multiplayer and to demonstrate my mad skillz (seriously I own your moms on COD3). I completed the match, and two achievements unlocked...for him, as he was still signed in. They were two multiplayer achievements for a total of 60 GS. lol @ glitches

Pearl Jam - Vs. or Bush - Razorblade Suitcase

Maybe not the "best", more like my favorites, but they both fall under the "if you were on a deserted island and had to choose only one album to listen to" category.
