I really like the overall design of it, and the little plus/minus thing at the bottom, but i'm not completely sold on the lettering, everything else seems so top-notch the lettering feels kind-of amateurish, in comparison i mean

slim: you should totally go for it, i'll submit something if you do

do they have to be new pieces or can we just use something we've already put up in the forum

Response to: The Good Captains Art Thread Posted February 7th, 2009 in Art

i'll give you advise! You have no idea how happy i am to hear someone is fingerpainting, i've wanted to do a painting with fingerpaints for awhile

no the abe lincoln was from a couple weeks ago, i meant show up on high school night and print and all that, i haven't done that since freshmen year, so they don't really know me at all there.

I think i'm going to a play this wednesday, but maybe next week i'll roll on over

Response to: The Good Captains Art Thread Posted February 7th, 2009 in Art

ha ha awesome! do you volunteer on teen studio night? I don't remember when that is, is it wednesday nights? Yeah i was there with my school that's what the transparency was there for, they would be confused, i haven't gone to AIR since freshmen year, since i have a place to print that doesn't cost money.

I'll definately try and stop by, i'll get some transparencys made so we can throw down some art

Response to: The Good Captains Art Thread Posted February 7th, 2009 in Art

just realized i never posted a picture of this print. I did it as a follow up on the anatomically correct stencil, i drew this one myself and used the other stencil as a reference

well, i'm not really sure i'm more of a non-digital artist so my digital art knowledge is pretty limited. I know there's a way to do it in photoshop but i have no idea if you can in illustrator, i'd imagine there's a way to upload your own brush sets into the brush library

Response to: Untitled 5 Posted February 6th, 2009 in Art

i didn't say it was easy to color the whole thing solidly with colored pencils, i know i wouldn't have the patience. It's still a cool piece

Number three!

titled: Hair Twins

Both of these stencils are pretty small just like the other one, all three are about the size of your hand

Really like the colors and the image, but i wish the coloring was a little cleaner, you can see the strokes of the colored pencils you used and where you changed directions and come spots, it's really good, but i feel like it would pop a little more and look that much better if the coloring was a little smoother and cleaner

Response to: Art Forum Lounge Posted February 6th, 2009 in Art

I agree, i hate it when i'm getting my portfolio looked at or anything and the other person just tells me that it's good, my favorite reviews have been when someone's sat their and cut down every single piece i've had to show them and tell me what i could work on to make them better. It's the best way to learn, ego-strokes are nice every now and then but they get me nowhere

Response to: Hippie Hippo Posted February 6th, 2009 in Art

why wouldn't it be art? That's pretty tight, the shading on the hippo is pretty top-notch.
And i'll tell you this because Renaenay will bitch you out about it, try and keep all your art in one thread, you don't need to make a new thread for every new piece you do, even if it's in a different style then what dominated your other thread. It keeps the forum from getting to cluttered up

Response to: Art From Me! Posted February 6th, 2009 in Art

hey don't get upset we get tons of kids who post stolen art here, so anything that sounds skeptical is going to be looked at under a microscope. I'm a little disappointed that the flourishes aren't hand drawn, that's assuming that their downloaded brushes, have you tried just drawing them on your own? They just are the most interesting part about you're pieces, so the fact that they are pre-made by someone else is a bit of a let down.

But if you made the brushes yourself then excellent work!

i'll have to agree with Karl, not really a big fan of his works, even his paintings that were done before he did the drips and splatter type stuff he got famous for wasn't all that great. Has anyone seen the movie "Who the Fuck is Jackson Pollack?" It's about this old trucker lady who finds a jackson pollack at a garage sale, but the art critics refuse to believe that it's one of his pieces, and listening to them spin bullshit on why the painting she found can't be a pollack is pretty crazy, i'd recommend it to anyone who wants to see how fucked up the art community can be

Response to: more random drawings from dark Posted February 5th, 2009 in Art

noice, looking good dark, i really like the faded black ink in the one picture.

I kinda wish you would do some more involved pieces like you're older works, with environments and just more in-depth than character's on a solid color background.

Response to: Had a go at doing some, posters? Posted February 5th, 2009 in Art

i would actually stick with the blue tint, it does make it a little more visually interesting rather than just frey pencil on white paper

Response to: MoriChax Art Thread of fun Posted February 4th, 2009 in Art

first time with charcoal? ugh i hate you, i can't get used to using "powder" mediums like chalk pastels and charcoal. That turned out pretty sick, but i do think the shading could've been more dynamic, bring out the darker shadows in the horse

Response to: Hellknight1000's Artwork Posted February 4th, 2009 in Art

not really a big fan of the whole furry thing, but you're anatomy's starting to get much better, the one blue fox chick is actually starting to look more like a woman. You also have poses down, that's a bigger accomplishment than it sounds, it's not easy to draw people in dynamic poses, that gunslinger drawing is a perfect example, you have to be pretty comfortable with anatomy to pull off poses like that and make them look natural.

well, my good sir, i'm in the process of getting enough prints and shirts together and photographed so i feel adequate enough to create account on this free shopping site thingy.

I'll be selling prints and t-shirts, shirts will probably be around $15, prints will range from $5-$50 depending on the size of the print
