A local theater has 5 dollar movie Mondays plus free popcorn, so i go pretty much every Monday with the missus.

I spend way to much money in the theater
Response to: new here, someone please help Posted July 14th, 2009 in Art

You might want to start by Reading the Art Forum rules before posting. All new threads must have an original work of art in the first post.

Your art is displayed your userpage until you have submitted at least 4 pieces and someone has scouted your work. Once you have 4 pieces your art will show up in the unscouted section of the art portal, a section that only scouted users can see. Do not asked to be scouted that's against the rules, if your art is good than you will get scouted.

If you have any other questions about Art Portal feel free to shoot me a PM ;)

Welcome to Newgrounds!

does it stay in deleted art forever or does the system clean that out after awhile?

Like a deleted section? I don't think there is one, if something gets deleted it's gone.

at least that's my understanding

From looking at the unscouted section of the Art Portal I'd say Sonic must be the easiest

On a hilarious note, my film history teacher was telling me about how Reynolds has been fighting for the opportunity to play the flash for awhile now. He has a homemade costume that he wears and everything.

Sean Young did something similar when she tried to get the part of Catwoman for Batman Returns. She was drunk and confronted the director in a homemade catwoman suit XD

Ryan Reynolds is mildly sarcastic at his best. Anyone who has read the actual comics knows that Deadpool is an over-excited phsychopath who never shuts up and is incredibly over-zealous. Ryan Reynolds was way too calm and collected, and frankly too quiet.

Anyone who thought Ryan Reynolds was a good Deadpool either hasn't read any of the comics or is a dipshit

I fucking love Deadpool

This is what the unscouted section is for, there is no need for a thread that serves the exact same purpose.

The unscouted section is HEAVILY picked through, if your art is good than it will get noticed and you will get scouted. If you have not yet gotten scouted chances are your art isn't good enough to be in the portal, so my advise would be to practice some more and draw as much as you can.

With enough work someday you'll get scouted and everyone can blow you over your amazing artistic abilities.

No, i didn't mean to knock you. The piece was okay, but that's all that is was. OKAY. Photo's are against the rule, and photo-manipulation is doubly against the rule because 9 times our of 10 you did not take the photographs you're manipulating yourself. If it looked like you probably took the photo's yourself, and that the piece was thought out and artistic (not putting celebrities heads on animals/plants) than i'd probably let it slide, and a different mod could delete it if they really wanted to.

If you want a thread just to post your art, than you're more than welcome to make yourself a showcase thread. Also be sure to check out Newgrounds brand spankin new Art Portal. You can post your art on your userpage, and if it's good enough someone will scout you and then your art will be in the Portal for everyone to see and bask in your glory!

run on sentences ftw

No, but you did post in the wrong place. The Lounge isn't really for posting personal art for the sake of showing people your art. I'm sure if you use the search bar and look hard enough that there is a thread already for Bunnykill fanart, and you can post it in there.

Well it's my understanding that photo-manipulation is still no no in the portal. However i know personally I leave them alone if they are EXTREMELY well done and artistic. So the one you posted for example i would delete.

Response to: How to get artist to see pic? Posted July 11th, 2009 in Art

Sweetie don't apologize, just read The Art Forum Rules before posting and i wouldn't have to sit here and scold you for not checking first. If you did you would have seen that all new threads must have an original work of art in the first post.

Usually you would post art portal questions in the art portal thread, but we don't have one at the moment, but had you actually looked through the portal you would've seen the Art Forum Lounge and would have known to post there.

To answer your question though, there is an unscouted section of the art portal that only scouted artists can look at. It is very heavily picked through, if your art is good someone will see it and scout you.

Do NOT ask to be scouted.

Response to: dark art Posted July 11th, 2009 in Art

We've had several threads for "dark" art in the past, if i could find one I would have redirected you by now. In the past none of the threads have really taken off too well.

Plus "dark" and emo art is for pussies

except for rhunyc he's cool
Response to: Heavy Criticism Posted July 11th, 2009 in Art

Only 10 threads down from this thread is the [Art 101] Critique Thread. If you have a single piece that you want critiqued, that's what that threads there for.

Please search through the forum before making new topics :P

Response to: Rage Posted July 11th, 2009 in Art

Your work is is quality! Good attention to detail and lots of polish! Your work is visible, it was just in a section that was only viewable by people who are already scouted.

But awesome work and welcome to newgrounds!

Are you looking for artists who draw in flash, or flash animators?

I don't understand, is the tree bent or slanted? Is the wolf climbing down it? The perspective makes it look like the wolf is just walking forward on flat ground, which makes it seem like there's just a wolf floating in front of a tree.

I'm assuming the tree is bending towards us at the bottom because that's the only reason I can think of for why the "bark" pieces get bigger at the end, however i don't understand why they get pointy at the very bottom.

Also the upper part of it's frontmost right leg should be darker, if it's behind her head it shouldn't be brighter than it.

I really don't see why this is a frustrating problem, nothing is really effected by it. Nothing is deleted, if your art is good and you deserve to be in the portal i guarantee you get rescouted within a day. If you don't get rescouted that means that you probably shouldn't have been scouted in the first place and might be the reason why someone higher up on your branch got pruned
