What do you mean? Like are they all going to be objects (cat, superhero, trains, aids monkeys) rather than concepts (Warm, Flight, Dirty, Sexy)? There are no rules for what the theme can be in the future. Probably won't decide the next theme until a few weeks before the next flood.

No matter what's picked it can be as loosely interpreted as you want. Like this past flood, you could have just drawn a black cat, or you could have illustrated some repressed memories you might have like Savory. We don't judge.

Nice flood guys! Sorry I couldn't make it, the internet has been out in my building for most of the day and I couldn't get online. Big thanks to JQB for taking the helm for me!

Wish you guys reviewed each others work a little more, but there's always next time!

Half the front page isn't bad, lets see if we can get all of it next month!

These letters are better; though im hoping you will crosshatch the fish as well?

lol he's not really a fish or anything, just lumpy. I kind of wanted to do some crosshatching to add depth between him and the banner, but it just gets confusing and doesn't look particularly good. For now I'm not going to crosshatch him so he still stands out, but may add some on the bottom if i can get it to look good.

Boo, I actually wanted to try and drag mine out for a whole year and not give mine back until Pico Day.

I've been lazily working on mine for awhile now, picking it up and working on it when i'm not busy. I like how it's coming along, just blocking in color. I've finally decided what I'm actually doing with it though, so if I'm not lazy I could be done soon....ish. :D

Not happy with his helmet anymore, most likely going to repaint it.

You don't have to be scouted to take part! Just make sure you post a link to your piece here in the thread when the flood happens so everyone can go vote/review it! This is a great opportunity for unscouted artists to get noticed and get good feedback.

Response to: Flood the Portal Fridays! Posted September 24th, 2010 in Art

Forgot to mention that we ask that everyone only submit 1 piece to the flood. The point is to have the portal flooded by a bunch of different artists, not 4-5 by the same person. So spend all your time on one kickass piece instead of multiple pieces!

We've also decided to not have this weekly, but have it on the first Friday of every month. That way it won't get in the way of other projects, and we won't exhaust ourselves of good themes and ideas so quickly. Plus it'll be a little more special of an event :P

Also! Make sure you include FTPF01 in your tags, so that way we can search for all of them and no one will get missed for reviews!

Nerdgasm (DC Universe Online)

Yeah, but as soon as I saw the $15 a month lingering fee to pay I immediately stopped caring about the game. It looks cool, but I don't like continuously paying for a game I already payed for, let alone 15 bucks a month, that's steep.

At 9/24/10 01:02 PM, ReNaeNae wrote: ninjar, I really like your icon. Maybe we could take a vote to see what everyone else thinks (sorry Ben :P)

I'm completely down with replacing my shitty thumbnail. I do really like ninjar's, but maybe we should wait until the next one to use it. The one I did is already in the main post for this coming flood, would suck if people get confused and there's a mix of the 2.

Flood the Portal Fridays! Posted September 24th, 2010 in Art

This is an idea Renaenae and I have been kicking around for awhile. Every Friday, we get as many people as we can to submit art to the portal with the same thumbnail at the same time. That way the whole front page gets covered with nothing in between, 100% coverage.

This thread will be used to post a new theme and thumbnail for every week's flood. You can also post WIPs for you upcoming flood pieces. Once the flood happens it is highly encouraged that you post a link to your piece here (include a small preview, don't just post a link), so we know you participated and people can go review/vote on your piece. This is crucial for people who are unscouted but still want to participate and get feedback and more notice.

There aren't any real rules to it other than that you use the theme somehow, and you have to have the specified thumbnail. You can either work the thumbnail into your piece, or just have it stuck in the corner of your piece for the sake of the thumbnail. You can change the thumbnail to something else later on if you want, but just leave it as the Flood thumbnail for at least 24 hours.

Now this'll be more fun with the more people we can get involved. The goal is to flood the portal, and get everyone to review each others work. This is a community project, so act like a community and show everybody who participates some love. Review and vote on as many pieces as you can, and be constructive don't just tell them that they're work is nice.

The first flood will be NEXT FRIDAY, OCTOBER 1ST AT 8 PM NEWGROUNDS TIME, and the theme is going to be Black Cat. The theme can be as literal or loosely interpreted as you want, do whatever you want with it. You can download the thumbnail here.

So spread the word! Next week the flood begins!

Yeah, that games intense. It's games like that, that I really hope to seeing something like on the Ps3 with Move compatibility. Would be so much fun.

Horror games that have a lack of combat are always scarier, because every encounter is potentially deadly.

Pretty much, your ps3 has been restored to it's factory settings. That means it's erased anything you've ever downloaded onto it. Your PSN account still exists, and with that your trophies should be preserved, you'll just have to resync it. Your photos and anything else you had downloaded to the HDD is gone though, nothing you can do about it.

You can redownload any games that you've purchased by accessing your download history in your account settings.

They're doing maintenance today until 5pm. They mentioned that we would most likely have trouble logging on during this time, such as it forgetting what our passwords are.

Even if you could get logged on, you won't be able to access the store and most likely won't be able to play online. Everything will probably be working once maintenance is over.
