Heres my biggest contribution, i'm finished with it, just put this here so you can get a sense of scale
I think that ladders about 10 feet tall
Not sure if i'm a very prevelent artist on newgrounds yet, or if i have any actual fans of my work, but on the off chance that i do. Felt like i should let you in on what i've been up to since i haven't posted anything in a while.
Well for a while i was working on a portfolio because i was going to a big art college tour thingy in baltimore (or however the fuck thats spelled)
Then as soon as i got back i started working on a mural with some friends for First Night, big new years eve event in Pittsburgh, if anyones from here you should stop by and say hi!
But heres some pictures of whats been done, i have more done than what i'm going to post, just need to get pictures taken
putting trogdor on there would've been such a stupid idea, why would i want to paint that when i oculd paint an original work which is a hundred times cooler
i do stencils and stuff myself so i know the process and understand how it works, and this is a pretty ambitious stencil and i'm interested to see the result and if all that detail shows up well
you should also think about adding some other colors to it, makes it look nicer and more interesting
i'm hoping this goes overlooked and people don't flame you because it's never cool when that happens, i'm half hoping your joking about this, but honestly it's a blue oval with green blobs in it that was poorly drawn in MS paint, if you want some real advice, develope a style and draw and draw and draw not in paint but either on paper or in a better drawing program like photoshop or learn to use illustrator, i'm not going to sugar coat it or lie to you this is in now way shape or form good, you need to take some drawing classes, learn the basics of drawing, and develope some sort of style before you should think about posting art in the forum again.
good luck, go out and learn something
wow i really like your work, it's overly simplistic but at the same time very polished looking and it has a good vibe to it. Not all of it is great, but most of it is really cool. I like your characters and you full drawings or works (i'm not sure what to call them since there done on a computer, they're not paintings nor drawings really) but you full works with scenery and several characters a really amazing and you have this style down pat, great work :)
i dunno thats just how my guitar looks, it's for the wii so maybe it's different
another shot a little closer so you can see details a little better
thanks for the compliments on the sketch i hope you guys like the final product even better, i think i will add some sort of background later, maybe polka dots or soemthing
All done! I'm happy with how the paint job came out, hope you guys like it to
and sir seraphin (sorry if i spell that wrong) i have been thinking about adding a background to it at a later date, i'm working on several projects right now that'll probably pop up in the forum at some point
ones a birthday present and the other is this big mural project i'm doing with a few friends for this big new years eve event in pittsburgh
and heres one for you to see the orange sides that i was talking about, before anyone says anything i know it's not perfectly straight and all lined up, but this was such a bitch to hang you have no idea, all the walls in my house are soft plaster so it involved lots of glue and nails and it kept crumbling so it's as good as it gets
well please excuse the fact this will be 3 posts by me in a row on this thread but a few people were intersted in seeing the painting hung up so heres some pictures of it
please excuse the lack of light, my house doesn't have great lighting and there isn't good lighting were it's hung, and flash makes it to bright so it'll have to suffice

thats just in pencil, i wouldn't dream of leaving it in the half-assed state it's in now, i already wrote that i'll be painting it tommorow
in case thats to hard to see
thats probably what the final product will look like, i might add to it throughout the day
Just drew it out and did an outline today, i'll paint it tommorow at work and post it here, just wanted to put it out there to see a before and after

hot damn someones a little testy, just a joke calm down no need to flip out, take some meds and simmer down a little.
I'm pretty sure thrusty has ambitions and dreams besides doing what everyone asks, yes its the creators choice as to what those ambitions and dreams are, but i still want to know what thrusty wants to do :)

pretty awesome, i personally don't like using watercolor, i'm just no good at it, so looking at this i am thoroughly impressed, i would define her left leg a little more, it blends in with her hair to much and looks a little wierd, and she has a bit of a lazy eye but to late to correct that and it's not a big problem, other than that i'd say near perfect and superb work! I'm definately a fan

I am going to paint it myself, i'd rather paint up a faceplate than the actual guitar though, that way if i mess up the guitars not fucked up looking, and i can do more techniques and such on a facplate (ex: spray paint, splatter effects) that would get on other bits of the guitar, i can make a much cleaner looking design if i had a faceplate separate from the guitar itself
I think the one you drew of the guys whos face is stuck to the tv is my favorite, anatomy was good and the concept was cool, your charactictures (however thats spelled) are pretty cool to, nice work
i'm acually looking into buying a plainish looking faceplate for my wii GH controller to paint up and customize, but i can't find any faceplates for the wii guitars, maybe their not out yet, but if this thread is still around when i buy one and paint it i'll post it here

not sure what you mean by art is going the wrong way, but i do know what you mean by the old way. My feelings are that abstractions and deformations and fanciful objects and creatures that can't exist in the real world are more interesting to look at then still lifes and landscapes, not that i'm saying there bad, i just like a little more intrigue with my art thats all, and in order to distort you need to have a basic grasp of anatomy to work with, i'll openly admit my anatomy is crap but it's something i'm working on, and this is just what i like to draw and paint. I don't think art moves in any certain direction, it just goes wherever people want it to go

so u pass, keep up the good work
well you said monster/character all that the drawing is, is 3 characters or monsters or whatever you wish to call them, i think it fits in with the thread pretty well, and i have better ones for the "character/monster" theme but i'm saving them for when i do another "A Look into my Sketchbook" thread, i haven't done one in a while and i think i'm due
well its pretty hard to tell, try taking better photos of them and blow it up so its easier to see
but from what you can tell the shading looks pretty good

maybe ink in sharpie, then paint on top of that, you flip it over, and you see it through the other side......i dont remember anything about it past 7th grade shop class... anyone know if it can hold paint?
paint background on the back, foreground on the front, get a little paralaxing...
the clear/translucent medium opens up some great possiblities.
I actually have an art show coming up were one of the things we'll probably be doing is painting on big sheets of transparencys (ultra clear plastic) so yeah i do really like that idea and i plan to try it out soon :)
Really cool stuff, your sense of realism and shading is great and i love you creative some of your stuff is, sometimes i wish i could paint on the computer
will do, tommorow i'm gonna drill a space into the back of them so they'll hang flat against the wall, i'll post a pic when it's done
theres some improvement from the first drawing to the last few you posted, so your getting a little better however slightly.
If you really have you heart set on anime, get still images from your favorite anime shows, and try copying (not tracing) the characters from it, you'll start to get a feel for how it should look and how to draw it better, also throw out that standing up straight arms down pose, give them more life, don't let them look so stiff
