getting a tablet is on my to do list, right after learning how to properly use photoshop XD

I really love the bold color and clean lines you can get with digital art, so i want to get into that

Response to: The Good Captains Art Thread Posted February 2nd, 2008 in Art

yeah i noticed that after i posted it, to late, doesn't really matter, landline is getting cut anyway, we all have cell phones, don't use the landline to much

and i'll just hope no rapist sees this and tracks down my house

Response to: The Good Captains Art Thread Posted January 31st, 2008 in Art

maybe i should've just named this thread ben and avoe talk about shit, i wonder why no one else feels inclined to say something

THIS IS NOT A PRIVATE PARTY!! ALL FEEDBACK AND CRITISISM IS WELCOMED!

Avoe, do you mean oil in my airbrush? Pretty sure that would kill it, oil does water down to well i think, and it would be a bitch to clean my airbrush out afterwords. And if you mean to paint with, i don't like oil very much, hard to clean up with, and i don't do to much shading, usual blocky simplistic shading for me, so acrylic dries faster and just works better for me.

But i am going to finish that painting on saturday i decided, just not with any airbrush, i'm going to add another shade and detail with a darker green, then do outlines and stuff in a dark green (near black) so i'll post up finished work this weekend

And finally not to be a dick and continue posting without any art, heres some doodles i did today in school, that should tide you over

I know the problem, i haven't got an actual concrete way of making a purely femine character, usually adding eyelashes, make-up, pig-tails, or some other girly haircut helps. And if your inlcuding a body boobs obviously is a sign of womanliness

and kinda in a shit mood over that painting, i don't know when it will get finished, just bought 50$ worth of Airbrush paint, tried it out and it's to thick, doesn't run through my airbrush, and it doesn't say i should have to water it down on the bottle. And when i water it down i get the same preblem as watered down acrylic and the colors all washed out

so i need to return that stuff, and who knows when i'll find paint that works, i dunno not in a good mood about it, it might stay as it is for awhile

well, problem with that is my style isn't exactly pretty to begin with, and honestly i just realized i don't draw women women, i've drawn sexually ambiguous characters, or masculine charaacters with female attributes.

Let me see what you have started so far, so i have something to go off of

Excuse this impending triple post, but in the spirit of me loving to draw faces, i started to paint this big face on a piece of wood, almost done, need to go pick up purple airbrush paint to outline and shade it all, should be cool

tried watered down acrylic, but the color wasn't very good and i couldn't do thin lines with it

anyways, here

Response to: The Good Captains Art Thread Posted January 28th, 2008 in Art

Excuse the double post, just tried out that scribble program, pretty cool, first digital art i've done in a long time, turned out pretty cool, thinking of resizing it and cleaning it up and making it my sig, who knows

but yeah, pretty cool, i'll post it in the actual scribble thread tommorow, tired as hell, time for some sleep

Thats damn tight, maybe i'll try using your approach, doodled for a bit, had an E and a U i liked, probably won't like them by tommorow, and a doodle thats kinda trashy, oh well

maybe i'll use your approach, make things easier

Response to: The Good Captains Art Thread Posted January 28th, 2008 in Art

Thanks, just checked your thread, makes me wish i had better lettering, might go soldier on a bit more and practice a bit

i'll post up anything that turns out decent here for criticism and such

And i would like if someone other than Avoe would talk to me, your real cool and all, but it would be nice to get some crit and comments from others, say something don't just stare!

Response to: Avoe's Graffiti Posted January 28th, 2008 in Art

Avoe your shit is tight, done anything recently? You should post up some more shit

maybe i'll go back to my goal of improving my lettering, which means i'll sit there and erase shit for about a half hour, get sick of it and doodle some character!

I'm cleaning out this warehouse for my dad (it'll be a loft and my future home) and i find all kinds of cool crap, found a big peice of wood and a bunch of tiny boxes that i want to paint on

Response to: The Good Captains Art Thread Posted January 27th, 2008 in Art

Response to: The Good Captains Art Thread Posted January 26th, 2008 in Art

Hell yeah you can, post up the pic in here for me, that sounds real techinical and fancy so i wouldn't be able to figure it out. You should go ahead and throw in some of your own shit into the design to.

If it turns out well i may try and persuade you to mail me a shirt :)

Only one way to get better...

haha i know real well only way to get better is to practice, my artwork has gotten vastly better in the past year because i've been drawing and painting alot more.

Besides, i prefer to draw more organic things :)

I love steampunk art, especially when it's really creative or out there, anyone here ever see the movies "SteamBoy" or "Casshern"? those to movies hae some amazing steampunk art, casshern could be argued as cyberpunk to i guess. both cool movies i'd check them out.

and NGmastah yours still seems to futuresque to look steam punk, your have the basic elements just the wrong look :)

I wish i could draw mechanical stuff, would love to get involved with this
