The bleeding head, shouldn't the blood that is at the back be behind the neck?

I was thinking that the hole head would be in front of his body, so all drippies visible, I guess maybe a shadow in there or something might make it more obvious. It's also partly because I didn't really want it to make a ton sense from a spacial standpoint.

Have been slacking on the drawing front lately, wanted to get something done. Trying out something a little different process-wise.

What do you think? I'm thinking of cutting out the halftone in the pants, think it's a bit much.

This is hilarious ha ha. Maybe a little overkill with the lumps, but basically perfect.

Dug this thread, gave me something to do the past hour. Picked people a handful of people who have submitted to this thread whose style looked doable. Some turned out better than others, Aigis was definitely the hardest and is the least representative out of all of them for sure. There's a quality to his linework that I couldn't quite get right.

Also, I'm interested in knowing how you guys actually would draw a ballcap. None of you had any pictures on your profile of someone with one on, so I guessed, curious how incredibly wrong I am.

Not solid on this hashtag to let notify someone thing, but I'll try it out. #Kinsei #Absinthe #Fifty-50 #Morthagg #Aigis #Lucky #Carrion #Sockembop

Response to: Too much manga Posted December 30th, 2013 in Art

Out of the current first 3 pages of the latest release I only see 3 pieces that I would lump in as "crummily drawn manga." 1 per page doesn't really seem to be enough to justify "there's too much and it's unavoidable."

Yes, there are some very popular manga/manga-ish artists in the portal that cater to the lowest common denominator, and have subpar work considering how popular they are, but I wouldn't go as far as to say that it's overwhelming.

Poorly drawn sonic porn!

I remember some guy who had a TON of sonic comics revolving around foot fetishes, seemed really niche.

I was more reminiscing on the portal just having a ton of straight up porn on it, not necessarily porn people drew, which can still be found in the portal today, so not really the good ol' days material.

Anyways, here's one that should line up better:

Sorry, last week was finals and haven't been online much, and didn't see this until now. Is the @ thing supposed to let me know when it's mentioned in a post? My account isn't Captain-Ben anymore, so that might be why it wasn't working. I didn't realize you had assigned me a piece.

I'll work on at least having a WIP by tomorrow night to post. So I only have to connect on the left side of my piece? What'll be on the right?

Here's a mostly finished drawing/painting of a dog for current assignment for class. We went over doing underpaintings with acrylic or something, scanning it, than digitally painting on top of it in class. Makes things looks less digital. Trying it out, really liking the results.

Probably going to do a lot more of this. Really helps reduce the time to create a piece to. Might actually need to buy a scanner now ha ha.

Finished-ish project. Changed it up at the end because I was getting bored and didn't feel like finishing the chest or pedestal. Still some tweaks and things I want to add to this, but will probably be a bit until I get the chance to. So for now it's done. Will be adding higher quality to portal.

Actually very little blending so far, it's still pretty rough when you look at it up close. Blending it all smooth and adding details like scratches and stuff will be my last step. It's been a good learning experience, but have a lot more work still to do. Due Monday, so I'll have it finished then!

Very early WIP of first assignment for digital painting. Everyone has to draw this statue. Traced the photo for proportions (part of the assignment), all rendering is done from reference. Have most of my shadows and tones blocked in aside from a few small areas I'm not happy with yet, should be ready to start blending/adding smaller details soon I think.
