Flash is undoubtedly the best 2D animating program out there:
What you should get:

Anything before Flash 6 is crap, don't buy it. And Flash 8 would even be alot better than Flash 6.
Flash MX ifyou have a Crapintosh. ( Flash MX doesn't have alot of effects like blur )
Flash CS3 is the best and newest out there but is a little buggy still. ( If you've got money, buy it! )

The McDonald's Collab!

Concept

Everyone who signs up will make a part. There is no set amount of parts to fill, it's come all, serve all. You are to make an animation, 100-200 frames, that involves the shitty work environment of McDonalds. ( Pepsi machine left open, Maggots on the chicken nuggets, etc. )
It's everyone's favorite fast food, but deep down inside it's an exploiting, disqusting, corrupt organization. But it's SO delicious! Your job is to make a Flash of it.

Specifications

All parts must be saved as a Macromedia Flash 8 File.

Frame rate : 24fps
Background colour : White (default)
Dimensions : 550px (Width) by 450px (Height)

Rules

No Porn (or Hentai, Loli, Guro, Hardcore, Softcore, XXX, Teen, Asian, you get the idea.)
If you want to join, make a post saying so, be sure to include a link to one of your animations so that I can sample your skill. If you do not leave a link for me, I must assume you can't animate and therefore it's an automatic "no".

Deadline

Well, the deadline is... one week! That's right, I expect all Flashes in by Saturday, May 24th. Any earlier is great, any later is not accepted.

So, my room is a bit of a mess, but lately there's been wierd insects popping up since it's summer. There's cave crickets, spiders, but lately what I'm scared as fuck about... ticks. It's getting bad, and I don't know what the fuck to do. How do I get rid of ticks?

I want to clean my room and take out all the laundry and soda cans, but I'm afraid that may stir more of them into the open.

Ok, not sure, as I'm an animator, not a programmer, but I don't think you would have to insert the actionscript on both layers...
Try doing it on just one layer, and see if that works.

Adobe FLASH is all you need to animate and make games and such...
