Cool music, I hope you find some projects to work on!

Response to: How much time do u use on a track? Posted March 10th, 2014 in Audio

Yeah, somethings take around an hour. But I've had projects that have taken over a year to complete, with only around 20 hours spent on it. Sometimes ideas just don't come easy ><

Makes sense, wasn't sure if it maybe had something to do with listens in a given time frame or something.

How Does Music Get Featured? Posted March 3rd, 2014 in Audio

This is something I've been wondering for a while. I'm just curious what the process is for music being chosen to be featured in the "Featured Audio" section.

Best wishes to your friend, my heart goes out to him, and I hope he will be feeling better soon.

Response to: Sounds cloud or Newgrounds? Posted February 21st, 2014 in Audio

They each have their own pros and cons. I'd say just upload your music to both, the more exposure you can get the better!

This might be kind of like what you're looking for. The only problem may be that it is lacking percussion.

Response to: Where To Sell Music And Sfx Posted February 7th, 2014 in Audio

It really depends... To me, there seems to be a higher demand for more of that "corporate motivational" kind of stuff. Those tracks seem to be getting the most sales.

You'll be making about 5$-7$ per music track assuming they are about 1-3 minutes long.
Depending on the quality of your music and if you upload stuff in more popular markets you can probably make a couple of sales (as a new member) per month. Probably somewhere around 5 or so sales per month at best.

That's my guess, but everyone's situation is different. I had a rough start at first but I'm consistently selling 5-10 items per week so it's been pretty nice lately.

When you have enough items on your profile you can start making compilations o collections (of the items you have on AJ) and sell those for much more than a single track.

Yeah I've definitely noticed that the demand seems to be on motivational corporate style music. I think it would definitely be a cool thing to start doing, what's not to love about making a little pocket money doing something you love :D

Response to: What do you think of the FL Packs? Posted February 7th, 2014 in Audio

If you're looking for good sample packs, I really like the Vengeance packs. There's tons of them, and when I used to mess around writing electronic DnB, I used these packs all the time for my snares, kicks, and hats :)

Response to: Where To Sell Music And Sfx Posted February 7th, 2014 in Audio

I've heard a lot of people talk about AudioJungle, but realistically, how much money can one really make from AudioJungle?

Response to: Who here uses guitar to write music Posted February 4th, 2014 in Audio

Yeah I agree with Purgatory on this one. You can start a song on pretty any instrument you'd like, I just find that 99% of my music starts off as a melody (or chord progression) I wrote on the piano. Also helps having a piano that can be set to play a multitude of instruments; that can really help to inspire creativity :D

Response to: Looking for Softer Ambient Music! Posted February 4th, 2014 in Audio

I'm not sure if ambient is synonymous with "calming" and "soothing" or even "beautiful" to you, but to me it can be, so I'll post you some of my stuff. It may be a bit more melodic than what you're looking for though.

Either way here are 4 that you might like (The first is probably the closest to what you might be looking for):

Well It's not completely free, but I know a lot of people on here (myself included) use FL Studio. You can get the basic DAW for only 99$ if you get the digital download, which honestly is a pretty good price for what you get.

As far as completely free, I'm not sure if there are any decent DAWs that you can pay nothing for.

Looking for a Harpsichord! Posted January 15th, 2014 in Audio

Hey Newgrounds, I need a really solid sounding Harpsichord for an orchestral piece I'm working on. You guys are always amazing with your recommendations, so I'd like to hear what you guys would recommend. I have a Yamaha keyboard that has a really awesome harpsichord setting, and I'm looking for something similar to that, if any of you know what the Yamaha harpsichord sounds like :P

Response to: Looking to get started Posted January 14th, 2014 in Audio

I find the versatility of Fruity Loops to be amazing. It doesn't matter whether you're writing electro-funk, or orchestral ballads, Fruity Loops will be incredibly useful and will probably be able to do everything, if not, almost everything you would like it to do.

For synths and synth making, I would definietly recommend NI Massive. Sure, it is incredibly complex, but therein lies is beauty. After some practice, you will be able to make any sound imaginable on Massive, so it's a great buy.

For orchestral music, I personally love to use Edirol Orchestral. However, I'm not sure if it's still sold, I've heard that it isn't, so I'm not sure. I got mine so long ago now anyways.

Hope this helps, at least a little :)

Response to: Uploading problem Posted January 7th, 2014 in Audio

No problem friend, glad I could help :D

Response to: Uploading problem Posted January 5th, 2014 in Audio

What are you trying to name it? I had this problem with my song Schon, because it's a German word and is supposed to have the double dots over the "o". It took me forever to realize that I had to rename my .mp3 file to "Schon" instead of the actual German word for Newgrounds to recognize it as a valid file. So if you're using any character that isn't in the English alphabet, Newgrounds won't accept it.
