A vacant gathering
Genre: Horror/Creepy suspenseful
I could see this being played in a creepy old castle setting or something old and abandoned like that
A joyous tune, to celebrate the past whilst cherishing the bright sunrise
Genre: RPG, Fantasy
Either a menu screen song, or something played at some sort of a ball or joyous occasion. Could also see this being played on a countryside village sort of a map.
Setting a somber, yet hopeful tone
Genre: RPG, Fantasy
Menu screen, Credits, any cut scene wrought with emotion, grief or tainted happiness.
Hopefully this thread takes off, it's a neat idea for sure! (And if any dev is interested in using any of my music, or having me write them new music, PM me :D)
Cool music, I hope you find some projects to work on!
Yeah, somethings take around an hour. But I've had projects that have taken over a year to complete, with only around 20 hours spent on it. Sometimes ideas just don't come easy ><
I can definitely do fantasy style music if that's what you're looking for. Here's a few songs showcasing my style:
A fading notion of hope and beauty
A joyous tune, to celebrate the past whilst cherishing the bright sunrise
Sneaking through an eerie forest
Forever a Memory
Hope this is the kind of music you're looking for!
Makes sense, wasn't sure if it maybe had something to do with listens in a given time frame or something.
This is something I've been wondering for a while. I'm just curious what the process is for music being chosen to be featured in the "Featured Audio" section.
Best wishes to your friend, my heart goes out to him, and I hope he will be feeling better soon.
They each have their own pros and cons. I'd say just upload your music to both, the more exposure you can get the better!
This might be kind of like what you're looking for. The only problem may be that it is lacking percussion.

Let me know if this is the style that you're interested in using! :)
Hey, if you're still looking for a composer, I do write some music that might be fitting for the game:
Forever a Memory
A joyous tune, to celebrate the past whilst cherishing the bright sunrise
A fading notion of hope and beauty
Sneaking through an eerie forest
Let me know if this is the kind of music you were looking for :)
Well it looks like whatever you did worked, cause in the description of his video, he now has given you credit and provided a link to your newgrounds profile! :)
Really cool idea. Filled it out and looking forward to seeing some results posted! :)
Looks like a cool read to me. I'd be pretty interested in checking it out :)
Come give your ear sockets a treat! New horror genre track by my brother Abel and myself. It'll send shivers down your spine, or your money back, guaranteed!

It really depends... To me, there seems to be a higher demand for more of that "corporate motivational" kind of stuff. Those tracks seem to be getting the most sales.
You'll be making about 5$-7$ per music track assuming they are about 1-3 minutes long.
Depending on the quality of your music and if you upload stuff in more popular markets you can probably make a couple of sales (as a new member) per month. Probably somewhere around 5 or so sales per month at best.
That's my guess, but everyone's situation is different. I had a rough start at first but I'm consistently selling 5-10 items per week so it's been pretty nice lately.
When you have enough items on your profile you can start making compilations o collections (of the items you have on AJ) and sell those for much more than a single track.
Yeah I've definitely noticed that the demand seems to be on motivational corporate style music. I think it would definitely be a cool thing to start doing, what's not to love about making a little pocket money doing something you love :D
If you're looking for good sample packs, I really like the Vengeance packs. There's tons of them, and when I used to mess around writing electronic DnB, I used these packs all the time for my snares, kicks, and hats :)
I've heard a lot of people talk about AudioJungle, but realistically, how much money can one really make from AudioJungle?
Yeah I agree with Purgatory on this one. You can start a song on pretty any instrument you'd like, I just find that 99% of my music starts off as a melody (or chord progression) I wrote on the piano. Also helps having a piano that can be set to play a multitude of instruments; that can really help to inspire creativity :D
I'm not sure if ambient is synonymous with "calming" and "soothing" or even "beautiful" to you, but to me it can be, so I'll post you some of my stuff. It may be a bit more melodic than what you're looking for though.
Either way here are 4 that you might like (The first is probably the closest to what you might be looking for):
A joyous tune, to celebrate the past whilst cherishing the bright sunrise
Forever a Memory
A fading notion of hope and beauty
Setting a somber, yet hopeful tone
Hope you like it either way :)
Link messed up..
Forever a Memory
First collaboration with my brother and I. Check it out, you will not be disappointed!
Reppin' the drums. And piano, guitar, and bass.

Well It's not completely free, but I know a lot of people on here (myself included) use FL Studio. You can get the basic DAW for only 99$ if you get the digital download, which honestly is a pretty good price for what you get.
As far as completely free, I'm not sure if there are any decent DAWs that you can pay nothing for.
Just finished a new orchestral piece. Has a light and joyous feel, almost like you're at an old English ball.
A joyous tune, to celebrate the past whilst cherishing the bright sunrise
Check it out, and if you review, I'll be sure to check out your stuff too! :)
Hey Newgrounds, I need a really solid sounding Harpsichord for an orchestral piece I'm working on. You guys are always amazing with your recommendations, so I'd like to hear what you guys would recommend. I have a Yamaha keyboard that has a really awesome harpsichord setting, and I'm looking for something similar to that, if any of you know what the Yamaha harpsichord sounds like :P
Epic emotional RPG music is definitely my forte. Here are a couple tracks for you to check out :D
A fading notion of hope and beauty

Hey all! My song "Schön" was just recently featured on a fairly high traffic Youtube channel today! Here's a link to the song on Newgrounds, as well as its link on the Youtube channel "xy4Trance". Check out the channel guys, it promotes some really awesome tracks by independent artists!

I find the versatility of Fruity Loops to be amazing. It doesn't matter whether you're writing electro-funk, or orchestral ballads, Fruity Loops will be incredibly useful and will probably be able to do everything, if not, almost everything you would like it to do.
For synths and synth making, I would definietly recommend NI Massive. Sure, it is incredibly complex, but therein lies is beauty. After some practice, you will be able to make any sound imaginable on Massive, so it's a great buy.
For orchestral music, I personally love to use Edirol Orchestral. However, I'm not sure if it's still sold, I've heard that it isn't, so I'm not sure. I got mine so long ago now anyways.
Hope this helps, at least a little :)
No problem friend, glad I could help :D
What are you trying to name it? I had this problem with my song Schon, because it's a German word and is supposed to have the double dots over the "o". It took me forever to realize that I had to rename my .mp3 file to "Schon" instead of the actual German word for Newgrounds to recognize it as a valid file. So if you're using any character that isn't in the English alphabet, Newgrounds won't accept it.
