Games that aged/not aged well. Posted February 24th, 2013 in Video Games

These days I usually lurk on 4chan but NG is a good place for discussion, considering /v/ is a total warzone.

Anywho, I've been playing some oldies lately, and I was wondering what you guys still enjoy.

My list:

Fine Wine Tier:
Castlevania: SOTN- One is more than capable of putting in alot of hours into this, provided they don't rush it and find the 2nd castle. The soundtrack reminds me of Christmas music though, werid.

Metal Gear Solid 1/2/3- I find myself skipping the cutscenes these days (cause I know everything.) but everything still holds up nicely, the cinematics in MGS1 still looks great too!

Crash Bandicoot: Warped- Beat it after 13 years of last playing it, the humor is still there, and animations still look great as well!

The PC versions of GTA Vice City and San Andreas- Playing SA makes me excited for GTA V, can't wait for that kind of depth and scale with the tech of the now.

Sentimental Tier
Armored Core 3- I LOVE this game, but the controls are brutal, plus just get hover legs and a machine gun and you're set.

Battle Arena Toshinden- Pretty much everyone agrees that this is now a REALLY bad game, but I like it! (sorta) and I'll admit, having you and your opponent perpetually rolling and circling each other is derp.

Old Ass Hag
WWF Attitude- Might as well add the one that came before it too (I forgot the name, but I played it.) I spent hours on this thing as a kid, but nowadays it's unplayable everything feels forced and slow, it's no longer fun.

I'll add more later (probably) what say you guys?

At the end.

Response to: Kick. Punch. Its all in the mind. Posted July 8th, 2010 in Video Games

I loved this game.

Response to: So I Finally Played Counter-strike Posted July 4th, 2010 in Video Games

CSS is basically a laughing stock anyway, its pretty much Valve's most half-assed game anyway and was more or less made to show off the Source engine, now it relies on the community to drag its sorry ass around anway. Pretty much the only reason I play it now is see idiot's reactions when I team-flash, spam radio, and voice spam (The fact that they don't know where the mute button is makes it them look even more retarded.)

Response to: Is Fraps Really Worth The 40? Posted July 4th, 2010 in Video Games

Just hit the record button every 30 seconds or so

Or you can use Hypercam or Xfire.

OP is a troll.

I will never forget Halo 3's ending when the halo is starting collapse, with that music going (I should also mention that Halo's music has gotten in my head forever as well.) and riding that Warthog, it got me pumped.

Response to: Counter Strike for Xbox 360 Posted July 4th, 2010 in Video Games

Besides, without custom content, CSS is basically a turd of a game really. I highly they would be able download custom maps, skins, ETC.

Oh, as I'm mainly a console gamer, I can safely say that I aim the same way with a mouse, touchpad (Laptop) and analog sticks.

Response to: Counter Strike for Xbox 360 Posted July 4th, 2010 in Video Games

All I see that would be different would be a higher framerate.

Maybe aiming speed, but thats what sensitivity is for.

Just ignore him, post something related to CSS and he'll probably call you out on it.

Response to: So I Finally Played Counter-strike Posted July 4th, 2010 in Video Games

Oh no, a CSS thread, Crazyasian of going to brag about how good he is and call everyone noobs.

I just like the game because its relatively easy to grief.

PC is superior.

Trying to start a flame war?

Response to: should i get condemned? Posted July 2nd, 2010 in Video Games

In order to add some intelligence to the thread, I suggest you get it, its alright, but only good for one try through, MAYBE two.

Response to: Homebrew PS2, Xbox360 and emulators Posted July 1st, 2010 in Video Games

You can download, PS1 and PS2 emulators, in fact there are Youtube vids describing them.

Response to: Playstation Plus Thread Posted June 30th, 2010 in Video Games

This isn't a "this game is shit thread" mind moving on please?

Anyway, wish we can have a month trail of PSN+ like we can have a month trial of XBL, but seeing as we already get free online play, it probably evens out.

Response to: Counter-Strike: Source Beta Posted June 29th, 2010 in Video Games

I can play it on an Intel 4500M and still enjoy it, people need to learn FPS (unless its like, below 10.) does not make the game better.

I too haven't noticed any change whatsoever the only bug that happens to me is when I get sucked into the ground (you can crouch to go back to normal.)

After they fixed all the bugs, I really, REALLY hope they add in new content, like they did with TF2.

Response to: Gmod (Garrys mod) Screenshots! Posted June 29th, 2010 in Video Games

South Park.

Response to: Team Fortress 2 Terribly Overrated? Posted June 27th, 2010 in Video Games

^ To the guy who posted that pic on top of this page, I wouldn't worry about that too much really, as long as the game is enjoyable it doesn't really matter.

Plus there are other genres other than FPS's.

Response to: Xbox live and PSN differences? Posted June 26th, 2010 in Video Games

Pretty much the only difference for me is the location where you plug in the the Ethernet cable.

Response to: Whoever made Punkbuster Posted June 26th, 2010 in Video Games

I suggest console or Steam games, BC2 is a Steam game, run by VAC.

Unless of course I'm wrong, and the Steam version of BC2 runs on PB.

Response to: Medal of Honor! Posted June 25th, 2010 in Video Games

It just looks like MW2 to me, with BC2 view model animations.

I'm guessing this is going to be a mediocre game* but hey, time will tell.

* OPINION, NOT FACT stupid VG board regs.

But hey, if it works for you...

Response to: Counter-Strike: Source Beta Posted June 25th, 2010 in Video Games

Because there is no changes to the gameplay.

Your not supposed to be running and gunning anyway.

If you don't like it-
1. Stop playing it.
2. Stop posting.

The only glitch I've seen is people getting a censored version, me getting inside the floor when I spawn (Which you can crouch it get out) and ragdolls getting stuck in walls and that just minor.

But if you INSIST on saying Valve fucked up big time, give them a few weeks.

Response to: Counter-Strike: Source Beta Posted June 25th, 2010 in Video Games

They updated the graphics from Source 7 to Source 15, explains your frames.

Also the game probably was supposed to be played at 66 tic or whatever the the fuck that is, it made no difference to me when I was playing (Or Myg0ting =3)

Also they did some work on the weapons to encourage you to use the other ones, I was already using the P226 and the TMP before, but whatever.

Response to: Counter-Strike: Source Beta Posted June 24th, 2010 in Video Games

Jesus the OP is an asshole.

What's wrong with adding content?

Response to: Counter-Strike: Source Beta Posted June 24th, 2010 in Video Games

Meeting new people.

Valve will be a huge asshole if they don't follow through with new content.

Response to: Counter-Strike: Source Beta Posted June 23rd, 2010 in Video Games

Hrm, what?

This thread died and came back awesome.

I can't wait to play with some Mac players and this update will follow with new content.
