I think what you're doing, as with a lot of previous posters in this thread, is lumping all liberal arts students in to this 'lazy student' archetype that exists in all fields of study, not just the arts. Your issue is with those seeking an education that doesn't lead to anything, which has far more to do with the actual individual than the education itself.

I dont think theyre lazy, I never said that at all, so great strawman there, and I would say the education is extremely important, not just the individual. If you want a good job you choose a course that leads onto a good job, theyre not even at all and wont necessarily lead onto a job well even if you are the right kind of person for it.

wait, are you fucking kidding me? You're blaming arts students for tuition hikes? You call the arts a 'detriment to society'? Do you watch a lot of Fox news?

He has a point, they dont follow onto a job anywhere near like STEM does which leaves them far more likely to not be able to pay their debts back which leads to higher tuition fees. Soft sciences, liberal studies and humanities dont really lead onto any career, while maths, technology, hard science and engineering are always in high demand and are useful for their jobs or a broad range of subjects. I dont see what you are going to do with psychology or sociology, even if you get intoa job with it thats just one career you can follow and its not even in high demand. The fact that higher education encourages people to waste their time and money on this for profit and people take things like this without thinking is a detriment to society.
