Of course! We Cubase users still are in defense in our DAW wars!

Jokes,

but I still use Cubase 5 and 6 because I am used to them. I'll upgrade to 7 soon...

Same here, I have just over 1000+, They listen to like 2 of my old compositions and don't check any of my new stuff out. A lot of them also message me saying "Follow us on facebook" or "Follow me back...", I don't follow people who instantly message me like that, or random people. I like to know people who enjoy anything I write, by all means I'd rather them unfollow me if they don't check out my new stuff.

I may not be the best tho lol, but I'll try :D

I see! I'm more in-depth with the cinematic/hybrid type sound design, it's extremely hard to find tutorials on YouTube for that kind of subject on Synthesis. :( Make's it very fun though when your experimenting and coming up with the exact same sound you tried to find but couldn't. xD

I'll look at the .wav sample if you upload it, I wanna compare! ;)

I bought Mass Effect 1 on the PC and still need to play it properly, haven't had any spare time...

Of course! Hans Zimmers Zebra 2 (Dark Zebra) has a lot of patches that sound similar to this.

It's extremely easy to create a patch in Zebra 2 or Massive, using Performers/Steppers with the Cutoff. Choose a waveform that sounds suitable to your liking, add some reverb and some Delay. Delay takes an important part in these sort of sounds because it really enhances the rhythm in a patch (I like to think so anyway...)

Try using dotted rhythms along with a common rhythm: Left: 1/8. and Right: 1/8.... or experiment!

It's extremely cool how easy this sound is to make, it's just tweaking little tiny parameters and it completely makes the sound much better if you just keep tweaking until you hear it right.

Another free preset Pack - Massive Posted April 11th, 2014 in Audio

Section B - Kontakt Demo Freebie Posted April 8th, 2014 in Audio

Hey guys!

I wouldn't post the product here as I don't think I can, but! I think I can post a free demo of the product here right?

Section B is a Kontakt library I've created (2nd library yet!;) ) which includes 3 main core categories focusing around Synths and Rhythmic Loops (Tonal/Percussive Loops)

You can download the demos here:

or

Feel free to check it out and comment on it! It's a fairly simple/small demo of the library, I didn't want to include too much! ;)

But you can view demos on the website including demo's created from Steampianist himself! Hope you enjoy, he did a great job in using the library in different ways! He's already got his 1st demo he sent on his profile at:

What socket is your motherboard?

If your low on budget, go buy a Intel Quad core from Ebay from about 50-70$... I bought a Quad core for 50$ because I was in need in a new CPU really fast for 1 project and it done me well, I also played a lot of modern games on high with a HD 7790...

Response to: Using presets Posted March 31st, 2014 in Audio

If you make a preset,

your bound to find another preset out their that sounds similar...

I've had it loads of times and it scares the fact with copyrights when selling packs etc.. If you sell them, just PLEASE make sure you don't take a patch, tweak it and sell it...

Response to: Using presets Posted March 31st, 2014 in Audio

Presets are such a fantastic way to learn how to use the synth itself...

If you're using Massive/Gladiator/Zebra etc... And you end up creating a patch and it sounds quite similar to an old one, you're thinking too much on something.

You're taking a specific technique that you always do and applying it to a certain parameter of somekind I guess?

Sometimes, mucking about with all the features to get a new sound can be entertaining, but sometimes it can get boring. If you start studying about the Synth itself and also search up the common Synth features and how they work, you can get a better understanding on what you are going to make. It's also very common to switch between synths, but the main ones I use for Synthesis/Sound Design are Massive and Zebra 2 (and of course a microphone/and hand recorder!)

What Synth do you work with? I might be of interest to a little project I'm working on that will be paid money, if you are interested then contact me.

The major thing I think is fantastic when making presets and giving them out, is that the user has full control on tweaking the parameters. It's always good to create presets that also have excellent real time control with Midi CC or (Macro controllers on Massive) that completely changes the sound in a good way etc..

A really good technique of getting some awesome glitch effects is export the sample of whatever your using (Drums, Synths etc..)...

Then chop the sample into 16th beats and re-arrange some of the samples, if you get that clicky effect add a envelope with a short attack and add a extremely small fade out and that's the clicky problem sorted...

Check out D-blue glitch... They have Glitch 2 out now which doesn't cost a lot (I think)...

Also check out.. Ohm Force: Ohmicide, I recently bought it due to hearing some videos and it's an awesome distortion plugin

Does anyone know a good free solution to get rid of noise in such tracks btw? :/

I had major problems when recording through USB links.. The stealth plug is an example and it's awful...

I just got given a Soundcard from a friend which has a guitar input and the quality is a lot better in my opinion. It also sometimes depends on the wiring inside the cable, so I went out and bought a decent Jack lead and it helped a tiny bit. Also, when you do record a track, try splitting out the parts where you are not playing (if the noise gate doesn't do it for you)..

I don't think so, I think you need the full Kontakt version, I haven't tried it out, but I assume if it was made on the full version of Kontakt, it won't work in the player version?

What did you think of the samples anyway? "Glitch" may have been a slightly misleading description of these sounds as they are more like Bop/Microfunk Crew than Glitchmob style sounds.

Yeah, I liked the samples! I think they were not fully "Glitch", but then again... I am creating a few glitch sounds in a current library of mine, I might get a few people say to me "THATS NOT GLITCH...". xD I don't know exactly what glitch is, but if it sounds gtlichy to me, then it's glitch.. haha

I could of got this to you yesterday, but I had trouble uploading the file!

Here is a little patch of the Glitch samples inside the Kontakt NKI instrument for people to load out and have fun on it!

FX have been scripted onto the GUI such as delay, EQ, distortion, Filters, reverb and a stereo mod.

The design was a quick design just to have interface controls! :)

Download link works, no trouble downloading!

How about if we put all these glitches into a Kontakt instrument file so people don't have to drag+drop the wav files into the project... A lot of people use Kontakt! I personally think it would be useful as a Kontakt user...

Of course this would limit to people that only have NI Kontakt, but might get you a couple of downloads!

May I? I'll also sort out a little script for the interface on Kontakt if you give me permission to do so ;)

Good to see more people doing little packs like this! :)

I normally spend between 1-4 hours if I am in the zone....

When I create Piano pieces, I can take up to months...

When I write scores in notation, I make sure I am careful and not rush it, so far been working on a piece for about 4 days yet I only have 20 seconds of music, I don't want to ruin the rest of it! xD

I have composed 1 song which took me a year (to get it right) and that was for my partner... Hahaha.....

and lately, I have been working longer on pieces which can take from a day to a week :(

Response to: Community Collaboration Posted March 2nd, 2014 in Audio

Get teams of 4-5 people, each making a track together as a team,

but put people who are totally different together... That would be interesting to see what the outcome would be of a bunch of total different bunch of people working together...

Could work, or maybe not...

This is not aimed at you buddy but I just wanted to write how much of a retard this guy is who done the video + blogspot...

1) What a retard....

2) Look at those "system requirements" he put to run "GTA V".... It could open the game, bet you won't get to the main menu.

3) Look at the so called "screenshots".... They are poorly edited and to make it look more realistic, he over-layed a fraps "FPS" over the picture, each screenshot at 60 frames..

I know it's fake, but come on! I could do a better job than that...

Response to: Whats The Name Of The Song T_t Posted February 23rd, 2014 in Audio

Sorry don't know, but I would like to mention just for those who are not careful with computers and downloading, GTA V is not out for PC and it will be out soon. GTA IV came out almost a year after coming to console so GTA V for PC would come out around April... DO not go fully retard and try to download it (for those who try, not the OP)...
