IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ALL PEOPLE THAT I FORGOT TO MENTION (WHAT A STUPID TWAT I AM....)
This was made by Kontakt 5.0.3 but it has been down patched to Kontakt V4.0.1.368.
Make sure you have version 4.0.1.368 or above otherwise you will not be able to load the instrument patches.
I have been working on a library for Kontakt called 'Cinematic Rhythms'.
This library will be released on December 31st 2013.
Here I have a free version of the 'weak' arps that will be used inside the library.
Each instrument has 1 sample per arp only because it is the demo version. SO you may find that playing over an octave than the original note might sound weird.
If anyone has some spare time to download 280mb for 28 individual instruments then go ahead and check out the free download page on the website:
http://brandonspendlove.wix.com/centralcomposers
The website will be www.centralcomposers.com once I have sorted it all out with the packaging. ( AND its still in construction.... so its not fully developed)
I have used some of the arps in some of my compositions so if you have ever checked out my music, you might hear some of the sounds I used.
The full version will consist around 300 individual instrument files (.nki) which will be separated into 4 categories.
Arps, Percussion Loops, FX and Percussive Kits and Instruments.
It would be a big support if you liked the Facebook page that I made (It used to be Brandon Spendlove but now its Central Composers)
https://www.facebook.com/BrandonSpendloveCompositionForFilmT vAndMedia?notif_t=page_new_likes
(WARNING FOR THE BITCHY PEOPLE: Don't get bitchy, Every sound is not 'copied' or stolen, a lot of people I have came across have said this to other people.... I directly contacted Native Instruments about the library.)
Please do not attempt to copy any of the sounds that are in the download. Each sound has been specifically designed with a 'water mark'. I can tell if the sounds have been stolen from my library by contacting Native Instruments.
I had some hard work starting this library off because I had a long talk with some of the supporters from NI and I now sorted it all out how to sell libraries!!
Also! I ask of a favor for those who try this out, please note down any error's or bugs that you come across.
As I mention in the .rar file, I am hiring a sound designer and Kontakt Scripter for a future project. Please do not apply if you have had less than 1 year of experience. Email brandon-spendlove@hotmail.co.uk for more info.
ALSO!!!!!!!!!! When you buy the full product (When its out!) You get the boxed edition. (The box is the same size as a DVD case and comes with a small manual.)

His percussion is of real audio, the amount of audio he has for percussion he has his own personal library for percussion. It also focuses a lot around mixing.
You are not going to get that 'epic' type of percussion unless you know a bit about mixing.
I have not seen any software that could be described as 'epic' like Hans Zimmers Percussion but I will tell you some pieces of software that you could buy.
East West Stormdrum 2 Around £300
Cinesamples Deep Percussion beds Around £110 (All the samples are percussive loops)
Heavyocity Damage (THAT will blow your mind with the sounds, I only bought it the past month ago) around £250??? I think xD
Heavyocity Evolve around £150??? (It is not just percussion software, but it has some strong percussion loops in)
Drums of War (Not full on deep drums, but really good ethnic percussion) Around.... £70??? I think...
There are some more I have but I would need to find them... that should get you started...
Look at the youtube videos of behind the scenes and it will give you some ideas on recording great percussion phrases...
I really wish I could help you by pointing out some free software that could sound as epic as Zimmer but I have not found any yet.
*Chug chug chug, chug chug chug chug chug* xD
Some parts of the first track reminds me of the Red Alert 3 'heavier' type of soundtracks. That's alright because I love the Red Alert 3 soundtracks.
2:40 the tap - slide gave me an idea you was going to go into some sort of Guthrie style, that would of been a awesome surprise.
I have only listened to the first one so far and its pretty sweet, although I would go a bit heavier (but that is just me). xD
Great work.
Glad to hear that! Your music is wonderful, so I'm amazed to see that you don't take pay for it! Well, I'll PM you the information when I have some free time, is that alright?
Thanks so much! That would be great to hear some more info!

Try the mic with a different cable. Have you tried that to see any results?

When using the LASS 2.0 1st Violin FC patch, I noticed the blue range covers keys which don't make a sound when pressed (F#2 (53), C#6-D#6 (97-99)). When looking at the mapping, there seems to be a sample covering those notes, yet they aren't played. Has anyone got any idea how to fix this and whether those notes truly can be used?
I just had a look at my LASS and its the same, its not a problem or a bug, they must of made it like that for some reason.. Let alone C6 sounds horrid in LASS.... xD
Its actually the same with other patches not just the FC Legato Sustain...

I have a question, though: are you thinking of making profit from this project? Because we're making no money off of this game (nonprofit, for Hetalia fans' enjoyment only. No payment). If you're alright with this.
Thanks mate! A lot of projects lately I have been doing for free. (I don't really moan about not getting money because I need much more experience until I start asking for money), so the only thing I really want is the experience and credit for the music.
Check out some of composition works on soundcloud. If you are interested then give me a pm or message brandon-spendlove@hotmail.co.uk. :)

Try KVR audio as well!
They do a lot of free VSTs, I mean A LOT... I have downloaded so much from there..
Scroll down to where it says pricing, add requirement and click free....
There are more than 50 pages with about around 30 plugins on each page. Its worth checking out!

Great! You should post some in case other people are looking for more videos to watch!
(So, what do you rely on?) ;)
But this is one of the reasons I want to learn more about music, I want to improve on parts that I can be much better at. And apply useful knowledge into my own music. Maybe I should just start reading and studying about it in my own.
Make sure you plan out your study. Try to study for a specific amount of time! and note down everything you would find important or would not remember. Read through your notes at the end of each study...
Once you have finished the book, read it again... I planned on reading the Piston Orchestration guide 2 times and I am still reading it again to get the most knowledge in my brain.
Or make your own?
YES!
DO THAT.... Earn some money if you publish it.. Exactly what I am doing but with different kinds of sounds. Arps, Percussion loops, Instruments...
Been recording a lot for the past couple of months and I will be selling it soon as soon as I find out how to send download links once someone has paid for it.
It also gives you a feeling of you using your own sounds/libraries and when people ask 'What software did you use?' it feels great to say 'I use my own library'....
:)
I recently bought 8Dio's Hybrid Tools 1 and 2. They are phenomenal. Its a library for Kontakt.
You have a lot of sections to choose from, screams that were recorded in the woods, unique sounds from 8Dio like megahorns, Hybrid drones/sounds and very dirty sounds that are just crazy.
At 6/23/13 03:13 AM, Breed wrote: I have to admit, technology seriously limits my composition desire. The thought of using more articulations has defaulted to being just....like adding another instrument or being able to add one less instrument.
I think technology has helped me to get away from it (If that makes sense)... I barley use to write my scores by hand until I actually started scoring on my computer, I then realized that I was on the computer too much! So I went out a lot and decided to bring some sheets and a pencil and I actually could think better than being stuck in doors.
MORE QUESTIONS WEWWWW
So my question to yall is, what do you do when youre stuck horizontally? I find myself having to basically restart the whole song to make any progress, wherass when im stuck vertically, i feel it pretty easy to either theoretically play out where i should go with the harmony, or even just trial and error.
Maybe I should just write all background music and stop trying to write melodies haha.
WHAT DA !!!!!!!! I am completely the opposite. I can fly through creating horizontal phrases, but when it comes to melody, I have to think a bit more....
I always kept in mind with the Bach Chorale rules about writing for the voices.... (4 voices but it can be applied to the Orchestra and I might of mentioned Bach Chorales a lot because I love them xD)
The tip is not to write a 'strong' Soprano or Bass line. Because it can cause difficulty when writing for the Alto and Tenor..(and vice versa) (But this is similar to the Orchestra as well)
Seriously, if you get stuck a lot with harmony, PLEASE look up Bach Chorales! Learn how they work!

Oh... I understand now, the arrangement of instruments on the score?
Woodwinds
Brass
Percussion
Strings
------
Flutes
Picolos
Oboes
Clarinets
Bassons
-----
Horns in F or C (French Horns)
Trumpets
Trombones
Tuba
--------
Varies on the score you are writing for percussion..... typical would include
Timpani
and
Percussion/Cymbals
--------------
Violins
Violas
Cellos
Double Basses
(I sometimes write my scores differently to this layout which I always stick to... sometimes having Flute I and II or Violins I and II etc....)
I hope that is what you mean..

Let's talk about voicings for extended harmonies. Given the importance of considering harmonic resonance in voicing chordal material in the orchestra, do you have any good examples from the literature and/or videos/sections from orchestration texts/etc that go into further detail about effective voicings in different contexts with complex harmonies (as seen in jazz for example)?
I had a couple of Jazz books with great lessons of creating voicings for extended harmonies!! And of course you can use them in any style of writing, (JUST because it is a Jazz book, does not mean to only use it in Jazz right? xD)
I could name a couple when I get home, or upload some off the books to a site like mediafire for you to download?
They're all shit and the pack is filled with duplicates which have been processed differently.
That is free sample packs for you! xD
We only direct people to those threads when they are looking for a VA or advertising their services as one. There are a lot of VAs on this site, and if all of them created a thread every time they were looking or advertising, the forum would be spammed with them. That's why we have those threads.
Sorry I should of said it more clearer, some guy posted a thread on how to get started with VA and someone replied saying not to post on the audio forum.... (That is why I said it was quite rude, I mean't he was rude for saying it)
I'll look through these links for sure, but I have no idea what kind of microphone to look for at this point!
I would personally say go to a music store and test some out yourself, or YouTube?
If you go try it out for yourself then you can get the guys/girls who work at the music store to help you (I think talking in person up the music shop would be better) Just a idea :)
As for getting started, a decent mic, and a lot of practice, put yourself in a lot of different styles of voices, try imitating other people/characters, broaden your horizons.. It's not really a whole lot different than acting for a movie or whatever.. Except that you have to show all your expression through your voice instead of actions.
That's all I've really got for you, cause I'm not really a VA.
On another note, if you are looking for people to work with, the links posted above are what you're after.
GREAT because I thought that was completely stupid. I had seen a post the other day involving the same thing and they told them to go away to these other threads. I thought it was quite rude to be honest. Sorry :P
A lot of people in these forums direct you to some of these links (Only Wanted and Advertise) with any topic related to voice acting that gets posted in the audio forum...
Wanted Thread:

Advertise:

I am sure some of the nice guys in the ad thread will put you on a road to learn this.

Sorry if you know everything. :(
Try and be unique. Otherwise no one will buy your sample libraries.
I have been working on a couple of libraries (sound FX, Percussion Loops etc..) for around a year with a partner and we got no where because we was exactly like all the other libraries out there!
So if you this library to get around and people talking about it, go research and literally think outside the box.
My favorite sound was the transformers sound design when they dropped a piece of ice on a metal support pole and it sounded phenomenal!
I would also recommend looking at a lot of sound design for certain films on youtube! it might give you a couple of ideas from watching them!
I hope it all goes well!
Thanks for your help but I don't get it, could you be a bit more specific? Thanks! :)
A RCA cable which connects stereo to go through one mini jack?
What are the input sockets? what type?
