OH MY GOD... I checked out your sig 'Best Thread Ever' and could not stop laughing...
Therefore I will defo check this out when I get time, and I agree as well... It does look at tiny bit girly with the colors on Bandcamp but I guess they might be your fav colors? xD

Have you ever tried to study reading music?
I started learning a while back on this website: Great website
I actually studied up to grade 5 and then done my grade 7 a while back just because of studying from this site, its really useful

Yeah I agree, I often write in a way which I only understand when it comes to things I don't personally understand
Notation is a way to get an idea out or to store it, so shouldn't get in the way of how to music really good.
Best thing I have ever seen this week

You can use whatever you want I guess.... xD
But when it comes to traditional writing, it makes it more clearer to only write flats in a Flat scale and Sharps in a sharp scale (That might not be true, but it does look much clearer...)

It was a little test...
Nothing over-complicated when it comes to simple double flats ;)

Oh my god, not only it would be heaven, but I would be able to play some of my games without no Lag.. My GPU is fine for the moment, my cpu just makes my games lag on high settings.. xD I do like to have breaks from music

I prefer flats, but if it'll get messy with double flats, i should write it down in B (and safe the musicians some trouble reading) :)
Yeah I understand, I love flats too...
Seriously - If you are bored sometime, its funny to give a musician Chords like , certainly works if you want to test there basic knowledge...
Give them a chord sheet of a couple of chords like Cb, E7, Gbb-9 blah blah blah,,, If you personally like to write Cb, then I would write it....
I do that a lot with extension chords when playing live so I don't get confused on the paper in case I forget the progression..

anyway guys, this thread should probably be done with, as I had stated above that I found a way around my mishap without having to switch programs.
That is great!
Just wondering, what CPU do you have?
When working with Videos on Cubase my CPU is completely shit... But when I change the Movie player to quicktime, it tends to take less memory than 'Direct Video' and 'Windows Video' (I think they are my options)

For instance, I would never use automation so much if I didn't use Ableton, because Ableton makes automation soo easy to do. On the other hand, I don't use the piano roll in Ableton so much as compared to FL studio, because FL studio makes it easy to use the piano roll and Ableton makes it a much less pleasant experience.
I would agree with you... I personally think it is true...
Each DAW suits everyone differently, its all about you finding the right DAW... I have found mine... and many others have...
I really find Cubase the most comfortable to use with Midi and because I know it more than any other DAW I have tried...
Seriously, once you get into your DAW and start to learn new things about them... It is pretty good to find out new things..
If you work with a DAW that does not suit your needs, then it will seriously not be the best of your ability when working with it... My music got better when I switched to Cubase from Mixcraft xD

Hans Zimmer is using Cubase, so it kinda tailored for that kind of music...
Erggg.. This is what got me into Cubase... hahaha.... Still...
It seriously is so friendly with midi composition.... (Not saying it is shit for audio, because I still like it for audio)
And the Expression map is brilliant...
IF you have EWQL, you can download expression maps on the internet (I think you can from Soundsonline.com) to use in Cubase which is extremely useful when working with EW products..
At 10/5/13 12:52 PM, hnieuw wrote: Yo guys, i have a brief question. I have a chord progression, which I don't know in which key i should write it down.
What would you prefer?
B | D#m/A# | A#7 | D#m| E#7 | E#7 | A#7 | A#7|
or
Cb | Eb/Bb | Bb7 | Ebm | Gbb7 | Gbb7 | Bb7 | Bb7|
You should write it down in both keys..
I never take 1 key over the over..
I went through a habbit of learning loads of piano sonatas in C minor and I personally can play better in C minor which I find a bit erggg :( I wish I could play Classical in Eb minor as I can in C minor
Cb!!!! You don't have to write Cb unless you want to confuse the hell out of people that might mis-read that..
I almost thought it said C minor ?!?! xD
I would of wrote a bit about why I love C minor... xD

Nope, think of it like a wav file...
People say wav files hold more quality... But there is also memory there that we don't need...
The quality will not be reduced and even if it did with DFD, I am pretty sure it would be such a small amount that the human ear could not recognize it...

Hey!
The audio forum is full of musicians like you. What we do to keep the Forum clean is we wait for topics to be created and then we submit our work. We don't make topics for our own music otherwise the forums would be flooded I guess? xD
You can 'advertise' or show your music on your signature which is very useful or in your News Posts on your page.
I would seriously recommend posting some songs in the audio advertisement thread to get your name out and people will be interested!
There is also a 'Review for Review' for sounds you have on Newgrounds which is useful for getting feedback on your songs you create which you could find useful. :)

Yeah Dayummmm, I understand why, but sampler mode is a memory killer, I would say to make all the patches into DFD mode and it will seriously compress the size by a major amount :(
I done it with my CentralPan Flute, one of the instrument patches was around 0.8gb? now its less than 200mb xD

Soundcloud is out of the option because of the limited 3 sets for free account. Bandcamp only allows FLAC and WAV where I don't want to stress my network for uploading long tracks. Mikseri is suck for song uploading. Are there any other better option?
I guess you could just upload it as a folder and provide a download link? From Dropbox to Mediafire...
Or if you are looking to upload it on a music site, I would say Soundcloud is better with a membership (Personally I think its great)
Just found an old series I started a while back in March when I had a bad cold but it would be worth to check out as it 'explains' some simple things to know about simple UI scripting (NO Round Robin or Custom Graphics)
I knew a little bit back then but wanted to try it out of improvising a script on the spot...
You can find the other parts on the sidebar on youtube I think....
But I will defo be doing another series and actually take it far instead of doing 3 parts when I rarely explain what I am doing (I think)....
making the first episode during this week or next week is what I was meaning to say...
:)
At 9/26/13 05:32 AM, sorohanro wrote: If you have the possibility to make video, it would be easier to understand. Well, to me at least :D
I plan to make a series of videos which will start of to design the UI from scratch...
Designing the layout, planning ideas, designing the UI and then scripting and each video will explain many different things and how to use them...
I have planned for the first episode (Part 1 ) (WHICH will involve a lot of talking at the start!!)
-Planning the library
-Brainstorming the Script
-Brainstorming ideas for the UI design
-Maybe the samples, just applying them and some techniques to make some ways when sampling more professional such as Tempo change for a sample without it sounding complete shit... (which everyone seems to not know a tip)... Maybe some techniques on using 1 sample to cover a wide range on the keyboard without losing quality which is very interesting for sound design I personally think....
Has anyone ever wanted to learn the basics of Kontakt scripting to make your own instrument look better than those default ones in Kontakt?
I was thinking about creating a little tutorial series on youtube with scripting and creating a nice layout from scratch with included files.
Or I might think about creating a little PDF which will explain the basic commands to script if people have trouble reading/understanding the KSP reference (Because I really did have trouble)
The basics will include:
Standard callback commands like:
on init
end on
on note
end note
if
end if
while
endwhile
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Declare
(And the different controls you can create) and explaining the creation and how the script line works....
Maybe a standard Graphical knobs and how to create a custom image for your UI knobs (they are actually sliders xD)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Creating a simple drop down menu to select specific FX
Different FX scripting lines....
How to make the knobs work with the actual FX's...
Bypassing the FX with keyswitches or a button...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
A couple of ways to create round robin scripts... (Not FCR) Simple Round Robin, 1,2,3,4 etc...)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Creating the script so kontakt reads it smoother and making it neater...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
and then work on some more useful commands for a starter...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I plan on starting this sometime during this/next month.... Anyone by any chance interested? ;)

Edirol Orchestral has been sitting on my computer for a while and I don't ever use it no more, I used to use it all the time, I developed a habbit of not using it because I started to not like a lot of the sounds and I did not like it even more because of the key range....
The key ranges of the instruments allow any key to be played.. It can be interesting and useful..
I would not thought about comparing Edirol to the libraries above, the only libraries I would compare this to is something like GPO.... (GPO is pretty much.... ummm?? Terrible.. :( I don't like it.. )
Symphobia 2 is powerful for Full string ****sustains***** or to power up the cinematic feel and you can work dynamics with the mod wheel which is easy...
