This song brings about sadness, sorrow, peace, and olden times....but I'm confused you said you were looking for horror....? I relate horror to edgy, scary, terrifying, evil, unknown, etc....

If you could more accurately describe what you're looking for with more examples of music and emotions you are trying to evoke that would help us all show you work you could use.

Also, you originally mentioned getting original music for this game. Does that mean you are looking for someone to compose a song specifically for it? Cuz that would be more of a challenge to find then finding non exclusive music here which if you arent going commercial you could certainly use.

Response to: Your biggest composing peeve? Posted July 14th, 2013 in Audio

My biggest peeve is that no system seems to be able to handle what I want to put in. I am creatively limited by my computers processing and memory abilities.

I spent way too much money getting slave computers to help and its still not enough. I spend way too much time trying to take out effects or using group buss effects to make room for more instruments. Either my sample quality or my composition has to suffer. Every new computer set up helps but its never enough.

I just broke the 250 barrier, first time since 2010. Started at 272 about 2 weeks ago. Not fucking around in the least, but still fat yes.

Small World

So a guy came into my shop in chicago today who was from Romania. Out of curiousity I asked if he ever heard of our good friend @Sorohanro ....sure enough he was in the Romania National Orchestra at the same time and knew the name. I wish I could remember his name but it was...complex

What a small and interesting world this is.

In other news:

Go Egypt! We will need to do the same soon here in the states.

I've used the QuNeo a little bit. It definitely takes longer to get used to. I cant say its not worth it, but something to consider none the less.

I never believe people when they say that crap. If you want to gain weight, then fuckin start exercising and doing strength training. You don't want to gain fat, that would be useless.
erm. i went to the gym for 6 months.

nothing happened. even with addons every week or so

Then you didnt do it right obviously. Building mass is a matter of low rep high weight exercises. You might lose some fat in the process but overall if youre actually at all commited to it then you will see results.

Not to mention its just pretty damn good.
Do you think if I get a hand-me-down from eBay it'll work just the same?

Yeah if you can find one thats worth it. Those things have a very high resale since theyre so new so it seems kinda pointless to get one used. Best I found on ebay was a sale for one for 135. Thats only 35 bucks less then brand new and who knows what it woulda been with shipping.

If youre getting this soon, might as well get one new. If you live in the states I can get you a discounted one new with guitar center. Just PM me for details on that.

Hello super fancy acoustic set up! Took about 30-40 hours overall to get everything measured, made, and installed.

After about an hour of listening, I can safely say that my low end is generally muddy when I thought it was clear and powerful. Dynamics are also much more apparent. So are things like reverb tails and other stuff low in the mix. Overall way more clear sounding.

This should improve my mixes greatly. 2k well spent.

Those are my poisons, call me whatever cuz I use stevia instead of sugar....its better then asapartame or splenda and Im a fatass so sugar is my enemy.

Response to: Questions about using multiple DAWs Posted June 27th, 2013 in Audio

Its fair to say that most DAWs do most things, so comparison aside....its worthy to note that plugins and libraries however are much more variant and can be more intelligently acquired to achieve higher quality sound.

I mean using Ozone as a main master isnt gonna be any different across DAWs. Massive isnt gonna sound any different either. The native effects and sounds in a DAW might provide a little, but buying a DAW just for that isnt justifying as much. Rather, buy Native Instruments or some Waves or Universal Audio plugs man...thats how you increase your tools and expand production value (second only to good old know-how).

If you're comfy with FL then stay with it as long as you arent running into core functioning ability. For instance if you wanted to sync SFX to a video in FL you would find out that the video player is shite and only linked via transport controls not time-synced to audio. Thats a reason to get another DAW, not the things you seem to be looking for.

Sorry, forgot to mention, you will need 3 IEC cables, one for each speaker and the sub

At 6/23/13 03:47 AM, LemonCrush wrote: So, if the monitors are powered by themselves, why are there plugs for plugging into the wall? is that just an alternative method?

Let me briefly explain powered and unpowered (also known as active and passive) speakers.

There are three main components of a speaker system. The cabinet (the box/casing), the drivers (the cones and tweeters (either what they call horns or it could also have just smaller cones)), and the amp (what drives the cones to move back and forth and create sound).

Active or powered speakers have an amplifier built right into the speaker cabinet. This actually has its benefits if you want me to get into that. Most studio monitors these days are powered.

Unpowered or passive speakers require an amplifier seperate from the speakers to power them. Older studio monitors and bigger live sound venues mostly use these.

Either way however, the amp will need to have power, which is what the IEC cable is for. In your case, those are all powered speakers, so you will need that to power the amp thats built into the speaker....its 3 prongs you were talking about on the back. Without that, you cannot use them.

Also, by looking at those speakers specifically. I can confirm that the best route is to get

Two balanced 1/4" male to XLR male cables

Two XLR female to balanced 1/4" male cables

No RCA unless thats the only output you have available on your recording interface. Which is what model by the way?

Yeah that shits nasty.

I lived in the heart of this beast when it happened. While its a little different from the hazing you guys get, it was nasty as all hell to breath. Fire came to within a few hundred feet of our condo, completely wiping out the other half of the community.
