World Politics

The more I know about this topic the more I realize that I have no fucking clue whats going on. A new world war would seem pretty silly.

I don't know if the US has ever not been in a 'war' though. I'd almost prefer if Russia or somebody else took us over. At least maybe then our country would focus on something else for a change.

H2N is legit. If you ever get really into field recording you can save some dinero by getting just a field mixer to go to the line in on it instead of buying a whole upgraded unit.

Speaking of East West.

My EW libraries take up 660gb and its all on a 7200rpm hdd.

I have to drop like 500-800 bucks to get an SSD big enough for it. Thats more than a hollywood pack cost. And apparently I'm an idiot and need to spent a couple hundred bucks more to replace my RAM with a 32gb set up (using 2x4gb currently).

fffffffffffffffffffffff............

Do music expenses ever end?

I have less and less finished tracks because I get more and more excited about stuff and switch around too much.

Development of compositional ADD one might call it, but not lack of excitement.

Science and technology and the future of it may only be one example, but currently that alone is one of the most vast and inspiring and awestriking topics of humankind ever.

Artificial Intelligence
Robotics
Nano Technology
Quantum Computing
Biotechnology
Mechanical Innovation
etc...etc....

Politics and International Relations and the future of that is both terrifying and wonderfully inspiring.

And hell, if your brain hurts that makes sense too. Smoke some weed and write some music, or go for a bike ride or hike, or do some sort of hobby....shit I spent like 2 months learning and practicing knitting once.

The point is people focus on cultural fads of stupidity. I dont know what influenced this mass disinterest of the world, but drinking games, hollywood actors, top 40 music, dancing, and sex are all things that could be focused on in a much more enthusiastic, enjoyable, intellectual, and productive way.

And yet all these get pushed into a mediocre cluster fuck pile of social formalities represented in the form of singular fun.

like me :D:D

But I'm not. I'm very extrovert. I just hate cliches.

Why not gather with people and do something productive? or at least discuss something intellectual?

Its a mystery to me that so many people just want to numb their senses and focus in on stupid random unimportant shit when the world is so full of important, amazing, and bizarre subjects.

I don't know whether EWQL hired ex-NI devs to do or they just licensed the source codes from Native Instrument, added little changes of their own and put up their own fork of Kontakt calls PLAY. Since it's actually part of Kontakt you can even decrypt the EWI and EWS (used exactly same encryption as NKS file) files then repack to NKI/NKS and open them in Kontakt.

Can you provide more information on how to run these libraries in kontakt instead?

Also if you didnt know, East West used to be a part of Native Instruments. So they are actually old NI devs(some of em).

Response to: The Blue Nessie Posted August 18th, 2013 in Audio

This sounds like an infomercial. I cant really see the purpose of this over the yeti since that has dropped to the same price point. The Nessie must be more or less the replacement for the regular Yeti with a few extra bells and whistles (namely the DSP). Its designed for super simplistic set ups but has no upgrade or future investment potential.

Snowflake, Nessie, Yeti Pro will be the order of things from cheapest to most expensive. The regular yeti will probably fall off the market or get super cheap. Not sure which yet.

I personally suggest to people to save their money for an interface so that you can always add to the system and select from an infinitely larger pool of microphones (including those from Blue). Much more future potential and quality going that route.

Ok guys do we all remember Para?

Well...I guess he goes under the alias Emperor now....for those not familiar Emperor is a huge name in DnB

Can anyone confirm this though? Cuz that would make 1 more person to add to the famous newgrounds EDM list.

xKore, Space Laces, Emperor

It makes me happy.

Response to: Getter Bass Secrets? Posted August 14th, 2013 in Audio

Hey just for the record we don't all hate neurofunk and dark dubstep here. I find there is a lack of it here but the people still have good ideas about synthesis. Getters reeses sound good because they are mixed really well, but what he has going on in this track isnt toooo complex.

You can use any synth. In massive specifically there isnt much more then different combinations of wave table modulations going on. A lot of getting that good grimey sound comes from playing with lots of effects and synthesis types. Here's a list of stuff to play with when designing a reese:

- FM synthesis (and its modulation)
- Wave Table synthesis (and its modulation i.e. Massive)
- Vocoding
- Formant filters
- Notch filters
- Bit crushing
- distortion
- saturation
- flanger
- chorus
- phaser
- vintage emulated effects (especially anything tube based)
- sidechaining

You dont necessarily need all of that stuff in one track but they are all go-to tools for chaotic and highly modulatory basslines.

Studio Drummer
Addictive Drums
Superior Drummer
EZ Drummer
BFD 2
Ministry of Rock 2

All of em are easy to run. Most of em need Kontakt. Listen to demos, check prices, and figure out which one you want, and thats about that.

Response to: Gate Posted August 3rd, 2013 in Audio

Think of it as the opposite of a compressor.

A compressor squashes the loud signals and a gate squashes the quiet ones. The controls are mostly the same although simple gates will only come with a threshold setting because they are designed just to get rid of super quiet noise. Where-as one like in iZotope Ozone allows you to control the ratio as well which gives you more power over your dynamics!

YEAH! SCIENCE BITCH!

Dont even start with upward expanders....
Response to: Overrated audio software & hardware Posted August 2nd, 2013 in Audio

I would say exactly zero of those things are overrated. Nothing is a "must have" and I have never heard anybody say that about any of those. They are industry standards and they are all good.

Especially Logic man. Thats just weird to say its overrated. Pro Tools is what every bafoon tries to label as a DAW thats needed to succeed, not Logic.

Correct. Calorie-wise I'm getting between 1500-2000 a day. My body usually only needs 1500. Ive tried the low cal diets and they completely suck ass. You have to starve yourself with small portions and you hit brickwalls. I once did a 1200 cal diet for 3 months (thats really low btw) and only lost like 5-10lbs. Im about to lose 30 with low carb and its only been a month and a half or so.

Still eating 10 carbs or less a day.

Still losing weight.

Also bought a really nice juicer. Gonna do a 2 week detox where I literally only have veggie juice (not even fruit). I've already received like 10 high fives from vegans.
