when I try to select the bass from the sound packs, instead of the bass note it plays some random high pitched note three to four octaves up. My question is how do I get it play the note the I want.

dont put in high notes? put in lower notes in the piano roll?

ok i had to google this to make sure i was understanding you, sad face

how to lessen your "excessively favorable opinion" of yourself?

care less? realize your opinions arent that important to begin with

its less of a feeling that i am superior, and more of a feeling that people are inferior. nobody seems actually interested in anything in life, and trying to speak intelligently about things is taboo to the point of being outcasted and/or hated for doing so. instead everyones chatter is filled with 'omg did you see the newest insert-random-tv-show-here, or did you hear random-bands new album omg they use 1-4-5 progression so awesome just like every other mainstream band ever'

also ive lost my girlfriend like 2 of her friends because i responded with facts regarding a status they posted on facebook and they responded with hatred....just seems so wrong that being interesting in facts is a curse. i knew being bright was a curse, but i had no idea that being knowledgeable or at least desiring to be so was also

9/8 is a compound triple meter, this means that the beat is divided into 3 sections of 3 eighth notes. Most commonly used in irish folk songs, but also shows its face in progressive rock here and there and of course experimental.
Yeah usually it's that. Though sometimes it's basically alternating bars of 4/8 and 5/8, or simply 4/4 with an added eight note.

Theoretically that would just be sycopation of a 9/8 meter, but the natural/conventional beat is still triple for it. You could break it up into any number of things if you like, you could do 2/4 and 5/8, you could do 2/8 and 3/4, etc etc....I'm not trying to invalidate what you're saying though, there is a lot to meters and rhythm that often goes undiscussed

Top number is the number of beats of the bottom number. The bottom number is usually 2, 4, 8, or 16--meaning half note, quarter note, eighth note, 16th note. The notes are then broken into 2, 3, or 4 sections depending on if it's a duple, triple, or quadruple signature.

There's plenty of reasons to write in 12/8 guys....namely that you have the first compound quadruple meter where the beats are built into dotted quarters....this means you can have a triplet feel within a quadruple timing. Very common.

12/4 is completely different from 3 bars of 4/4/, because 12/4 isn't a quadruple meter, it is more likely a compound triple meter build on whole notes...less practical then 12/8 but completely different accent notes and beat.

The songs on newgrounds are written under a CC license, which means you cannot profit from it. Any songs used from the audio portal would need to be removed by the author/admin and re-released under a new licensing.

On top of that, it seems you are new to paying artists under a low budget. If you are selling products with our work, and can not afford a fixed pay, then it is customary to offer a percentage of revenue. In some cases this may seem arbitrary, because a small percentage like 5% may only equal out to 10-20 USD, but that aside, it is still recommended.

This being newgrounds and all, I am sure you could find some people to write music for your game for free or remove their media from newgrounds to be put on the game for free, but I thought I would let you know.

Only problem is that I am swamped with work at the moment. If you are willing to wait 2 weeks for the sound effects, I can surely get them for you.

Response to: Ask your FruityLoops questions here Posted January 17th, 2011 in Audio

Don't use samples for such a simple sound like that...

Sine wave layered with a punchy aired out kick should do just fine. Just make sure you dont have a bunch of oscillators crowding up the lower end harmonics because its a relatively thin sound you want and its very easy to crowd up the sub frequencies. Other than that, a sharp attack and slow release should make for a nice pizzicato sound to the bass, so you may not even need to layer it, or if you do, use the kick very lightly.

Ffr Menu Music Competition Posted January 17th, 2011 in Audio

Hey guys, there's a great competition going on over at FFR (Flash Flash Revolution) for the new menu song. This is a nearly 2 million user base game so it's a great chance for you to get your music heard. There is also some in game prizes. No limit to entries either. Sounds pretty shibby to me.

Cheers!

Quote from FFR:

"

Menu Music Competition - We Want Your Track!

We hope you all are enjoying your break so far (for those of you back in school, sux2bu!). Since our resurrection, we've seen lots of changes to the site and the game itself. However, there's more work to be done, and your help is needed!

We need new game menu music! Emotions by Trance [] Control has served us well for the last several years, but a new generation needs a new feel, and that's why we want your track! So any of you music producers out there, it's time to start composin'. If you send us a great track, we'll put it up for all the FFR Players to hear and you'll get to follow in the footsteps of Emotions too
Here is what we are looking for in your compositions:
- Any genre (just keep in mind, it should be something suitable for "menu music")
- Any BPM/Meter/Key
- Between :45 and 1:45 long.
- Must be loopable
- 16-32 bars of music (A 4/4 time signature is not required!)
And here's what we know you're looking for, the prizes:
1st - 100k Credits + song in the game
2nd - 30k Credits
3rd - 10k Credits
First, we'll battle all of your tracks against each other until the best three rise to the top. After that comes the real fight, we pit your track against Emotions to see which one has more of that FFR Vibe to it. If your track can stand up to it, then it will become the new most listened to song in the game (imagine that)! If not, well, we'll still give you the credits but Emotions will still continue its reign of terror....
And if you're still reading to here, then you probably want the nitty-gritty on how to send your tracks to us. Here's what you need to do:
1) Submit a zip file of an mp3 of your submission. Bitrate doesn't matter (we do want to hear all of the quality though!), because if you win we will ask you for an uncompressed version.
2) Also in that zip file, you should include a text document (.txt preferred) with the following:
-Your real name
-Your FFR username
- Title of your track
3) Title the zip file as follows: ffrusername_menumusic. And send it via email as an attachment or link to ffr.kidmerkury@gmail.com, with "FFR MENU" as the subject.

All submissions are due by February 10th at Midnight Server Time (CST)

Music is completely separate from mathematics.

There are a lot of relations that require arithmetic....but honestly that doesnt make it a form of math.

When you start getting into acoustics or audio engineering then yes...loads of math, but still not encompassed by math, just branched into it in order to do completely not math related things.

Oh then just sign up on different online websites, get to know your local piano events and recitals and stuff so you can have connects for your students, and other then word of mouth thats about it.
