I think nintendo's smartest move ever would be to be rid of the friend code system, and make a generic username system that works across all the nintendo platforms, and all the games... it would make so much of a difference. The friend code system is the stupidest online system i've ever seen.

I got spore yesterday, they released it early here in Perth Australia for some reason. I installed it, and played it from the cell stage to the space stage, i sat down at around 2pm and finished up at 4am, and went to bed.

I'd love to come on here, and tell you you're all wrong, but honestly... i am quite disappointed, the creature stage is fantastic, and the space stage is good(but seems a little like it'll get old quick).

What sucks... is the tribal stage and the civilisation stage, they have less choice, less... customisable... 'you create the future of your species' stuff than most games... you pretty much get driven to do exactly what the game wants, and advance to the next stage.

But, all that aside, the creature stage is great, and the customisability is fantastic, i'm certainly not wishing i never purchased it, i'll still play it quite a bit for a while.

On an ending note... i have been banned from the spore online network for a week because i made this creature: Heres a video of it

and honestly... that's was so worth the ban :P knowing that that will pop up on someones planet makes me smile.

The flora editor was meant to be part of the game when they first announced spore.

They're removing content from the game so they can release it as an expansion later on.
Content that should have come as part of the game to begin with.

The game has probably more possible content than anything else, I have spore and i really love it, the main game is there, i can't really care less if i can't create my own flowers... thats not really something to get all chuffed up about.

Anyone heard anything on the multiplayer problems? The only games that dont drop out are ones with someone from down the road, and even then, when theres a little bit of lag, it drops out. Havent been able to play online with anyone else yet :(. Hopefully it can be fixed, along with the save bug, which has claimed all of my weapons and animal orbs :(.

Stil loving the game though, played nothing but it for the last few days, its kept me up till 4am :P. I've finished it with two different characters alone, and another character i've almost finished it with. gotta love my new ninja character :P. Nice work on the game, just hoping those above things can be fixed soon.

you mean you think they'll hold sales? or block the game from running, if so, i'm sure there'll be a simple fix like, not playing the game online for a few days :P. we'll see anyway, i'm happy getting it whenever, but tommorow would be rather sexy.

Yeah i passed through there with my orange knight today, i had maxed out magic but it wasnt doing crap all against the fire demons, so i had to go away and level up my strength a whole lot, then it was a bit easier, they were by far the toughest enemies in the game when playing as the orange knight.

Sorry for the double post, but i just had to say, this game is fricken awesome, i sat there playing it all morning and into the afternoon yesterday, and my mum walked past, she stopped and stood watching it for a bit, so i threw her the second controller... my mum now has a level 18 green knight going, Tom Fulp, you got my mum to play the xbox for 5 hours straight, two days in a row, you my friend, rock.

I have 3 characters going,
Level 40 Orange Knight
Level 20 White Knight
And i did have a barbarian grunt going on level 6 but when i ran the game today he was level 1, and all my items were gone, and my orbs... lameness to the max. Lucky my level 40 was still there.

Anyway, any Aussies up for a game? so far i havent been able to play due to the other person dropping out because of the crap multiplayer problems. but i'm confident that someone closeby will be ok.

I think you should buy castle crashers, because... you wont have the computer for a while right... so the wait wont seem half as bad if you have castle crashers to play, its no too expensive, so its not going to set your computer buying back too much ^^.

Just get CC, its SO worth it... other than the multiplayer connection annoyingness, which i'm sure will be fixed soon.

Is there an IRC channel set up for castle crashers? if there isnt, i'll set one up. I just want somewhere where we can discuss the game properly, and perhaps meet for games.

When i was young i played a lot of diablo(the original), and i had a nightmare that one of those little red feeder dudes chased me around the neighbourhood. I told my parents and they didnt let me play diablo for a long time after that lol. I never told them anything about my nightmares again, thought they might stop me from playing more of my favorite games :P

I'm after a voice actress that wants to do a few lines for me, i'm working on a point and click adventure style interface that will be a game, while also doubling as a website i'm working on.

I'm fairly open to the type of voice, i just know that i want at least one female character in it, and i'm willing to create the character around the voice. Anything but an american, or Australian accent is good, Jamaican would be fantastic, german, french, whatever. The whole thing is gonna have a sort of pirate theme.

I thought the exact same thing, theres so few people responding to such an inspiring talk, i thought it was great.
I dont think the animation industry is dull and listless, sure, there are quite a few reeaaally crap animated shows at the moment, but theres so much good stuff coming out. Besides, if i learnt anything from Ralph Bakshi's speech, its that we can't allow ourselves to be uninspired by other peoples work, or anything.

I'm studying animation at the moment, i'm in my last year, i am going to move to england for a few months next year, while working on some animation projects, then return to australia and do what Ralph had said and live on what i have while working with a few others on some bigger productions.
i dont see the greatness of getting a job with a big animation company, working on someone elses big ideas, sure the product will probably be of amazing quality, but i'd rather be doing my own thing.

myself, like many others, really enjoyed iron man, and love to make animations, so i was thinking that we could do an iron man audition collaboration.

What it will be, is we have someone(anyone) standing at the speech podium thing like in the movie, and the character says something along the lines of "I AM IRON MAN".

surely you all remember that part of the movie.

My ideas so far are to like, have a man completely made of irons saying it, and another where will smith stands there and says I AM LEGEND.

or something like that :P

heh, its interesting to go through and see who has drawn theirs from scratch, and who has used a reference on another layer, theres some good stuff, i'm getting less and less confident :P
