Indeed- I heard in some documentary on the Black Death that for those who survived the Black Death gave their descendents some sort of immunity or high degree of resistance to HIV/AIDS.

Something that helps me from time to time when I've got writers block is not being home- being out at the grocery store, coffee shop, shopping mall/shopping center, etc. Interacting with people can spark an idea; make sure you got means to write thoughts down.
