Maybe that's why.

DeviantArt is shit too. I uploaded a cartoon of mine their which had no copyrighted material on it and it wasn't approved so they removed it. YET I've seen sprite movies get accepted. Fucking bullshit.

Yeah, what's up with that? Absolutely brilliant animation and all it gets is a Daily Second, no weekly award, and no front page?

It didn't have "absolutely brilliant animation" most of it was tweened. I think it does possibly deserve to be in Bjorn's place because I thought that movie sucked dry balls. Out of all the submissions this week I'd have to say My GOD, Robots had "absolutely brilliant animation" and deserved to be up there.

But it's not about the quality anymore these days, it's about popular artists, copyrighted content and alot of rubbish cartoons pushing underdogs into the shadows.

But yeah, sometimes that's not always the case.

Am I the only one who found Bjorn incredibly unfunny? Especially with all the lame metaphors and pointless swearing.

Some of the submissions I can see winning already. I am wanting to enter but goddamn I am lacking motivation. Especially with all the good artists who constantly do great work in these contests :(

Maybe the voting system will be improved with the new layout. Don't know how, but to make things a bit more fair.

I'm most impressed by trig so far. I checked out GazSmithGames, but like I said I am a bit picky. I need an actionscripter who's range isn't limited to just cursor effects and such. Someone who can do a variety of games. Just so I know they can create a platformer/2d sidescroller that is a bit different to a usual platformer/2d sidescroller. trig have you had any past history with games? Is there anyone else out there?

I'd like to see some work before I make a final decision. I've checked everyones profiles but it's not to the standards that I'm looking for. I'm a bit picky but I'd just like to have a smooth running game that's all :)

Hmm, I'm looking for someone with a bit more experience sorry. Thanks for offering.

I've been wanting to make a game for a while now, only thing is I don't know much at all about programming one. I have a cartoon on NG called Salty Swamp and I want to make a game based off it. Basically it's a platformer (I love platformers) but it's following the storyline of the cartoon where you have to find the sacred fish before your rivals do to complete the game. I'm trying to think of some unique ideas that would be different from other platformers.

Here is a preview of the character models for the game: www.revivaleyes.com/testgame.htm

Basically you can choose to either be Dron (the blue croc) or Loke (the green croc). Each croc having their own advantages.

Would anyone here like to be a co-author and partner with me with this project? I'd provide all the artwork while you do the programming (since I only know how to do simple buttons with AS).

If anyone is willing to help, and by anyone I mean with a good knowledge of ActionScript, I would appreciate it alot and I will co-author you for sure once it is completed!

If you're not a ActionScripter but know of someone who would help (free of charge) please let me know.

Thanks :)

In my opinion sprite movies shouldn't be up for voting. Put it this way, they're using Nintendo's/Sega's copyrighted trademarks to win this cash that other people deserve more.

Seriously. It should be considered at least.

I only make my symbols graphics because you can see the sequence of the graphic when you press enter on the timeline on the mainstage. Unlike a movieclip where you have to test the movie in order to see the sequence.

I have a feeling the new layout is nearly here and that is why p-bot hasn't been working right lately.

But I don't know.

Phoenix Fffffffsasfsfwrong Posted February 17th, 2007 in General

this is just getting ridiculous. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/364656

all of these movies are being saved with generally high scores.

They are all exactly the same. They just sync bad music or jokes from movies to the sprites.

You guys actually enjoy this crap?

Yeah sprites are a stepping stone to drawn animation but how can you use it as a stepping stone if it involves no ACTUAL animation or creativity whatsoever?

Some sprite movies in general are not too bad don't get me wrong, but when I say some I mean about maybe 3 or so out of the whole archive of sprite movies.

But the Phoenix Wrong series really takes the cake. There is a website that provides the ACTUAL animations for each character so you don't have to do anything at all. Just slap over a song and boom.

maybe someone should create a site called kiddygrounds.com and they will be more than welcome to submit there.

yeah and I hope his awards can taken away. It's unfair for the other users. You can't submit the EXACT same thing to get awards.
