eBay? Might not get the educational version, but some of those are pretty cheap for Flash.

Response to: Tankmen spritesheets Posted October 5th, 2007 in Game Development

What on Earth is wrong with you people? There are dozens of Tankmen t-shirt designs already, and I can assure you that using art created by someone else, especially site staff, will not win you anything. You are the same people that wanted Madness sprites as well, aren't you?

There's this thing called "originality," look it up.

If you can't be arsed to fill in all the gaps, you can change the settings for the bucket tool to "close medium" or "close large gaps".

Oh yeah, I forgot about that... good call.

Response to: Help please Posted October 5th, 2007 in Game Development

Either you're trying to fill the wrong layer or there is a small gap somewhere in your shape. Zoom out a couple of times and try to fill it again or zoom way in to search for the gap and fix it up.

Response to: want to get flash for cheap Posted October 5th, 2007 in Game Development

Here's the skinny: Flash costs a lot of money because it is a tool for professional artists, coders and internet companies to create professional quality things. Those people can afford Flash and make their money back very quickly using Flash.

A student discount price is available for much less money with the hitch that you can't make money using it.

I don't know why you wont buy off of eBay or Amazon, because the best deals on Flash usually pop up there.

As far as other programs that can produce .swf files (.swf is the extension of published Flash content):

Liveswif: Free forever! Yay!! Wait... this program sucks... =[

Other options:
KoolMoves-$49 (Free trial available)
SoThink-$79.99 (Free trial available)
Moho 5.31-$99 (Free trial available)
SWiSHmax 1.0-$99.95 (Free trial available)

Response to: Small parkour collab! Posted October 5th, 2007 in Game Development

1 - It's been done.
2 - You have no movies or games on Newgrounds.
3 - Obviously you do not have a batting average of 3.00+.
4 - Collab rules.

Response to: New game project - need help! Posted October 5th, 2007 in Art

Couple of things:

1 - This is not appropriate for the art forum, keep it in Flash.
2 - You will not get a halfway decent animator when you offer nothing in return.

Response to: Paint Zombies Posted October 5th, 2007 in Art

MS Paint art, unless funny, well thought out and/or done well, isn't allowed here. Your zombie defies all of those categories.

Response to: My art collection. Posted October 5th, 2007 in Art

It looks like a digital painting to me, I'd have to see it in high resolution to be sure, but hair doesn't fall that way.

However, photography, and the manipulation of such, is art and allowed on this forum.

@OP: What do you mean by your "art collection?"

Response to: The Flash 'Reg' Lounge Posted October 5th, 2007 in Game Development

..::reg lounge::..

The reg lounge is for anyone to talk about pretty much anything... =P
You don't have to be a reg to post in it and you don't have to do Flash, you just kinda need to know the thread exists...

We are supposed to talk Flash in here, but if you've read more than one post you know that rarely happens.

I can't judge you on something that doesn't exist, you don't have any movies or games in the portal.

Batting average requirement.

There are flash 8 -> cs3 transfer coders (its a program that changes it)...

so google it up :p

That solves nothing regarding the question asked and you look like a total ass by not reading the post.

@OP: Do a save as, change the version to Flash 8, then open the file in Flash 8. That should solve your problem.

Response to: Has anyone made a CSS collab? Posted October 4th, 2007 in Game Development

You could, ya know, try using the search feature or asking in the Where is/How to? forum.

I've not seen one here, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist...

Response to: Draw Your Nahual! Posted October 4th, 2007 in Art

How the fuck do we find out what our "Nahual" is?

Spend more time on your art, especially if you're starting a thread with it. Look at some references so you get the idea of the form of the creature then carefully draw it. The one you posted is very bad.

Response to: Help Posted October 4th, 2007 in Art

God, I hate these types of threads, they make me feel very conflicted. I want the OP to get the help they need but at the same time I have to close it down for basic rules violations.

Only thing I can think of: Make sure the image file is unselected and not being used by another program.

Anyway, if you still have the problem take it to the Flash Forum

Bai.

Response to: submit plane art Posted October 4th, 2007 in Art

Response to: Eddsworld Competition - Cash Prize Posted October 4th, 2007 in Game Development

Just a few things here:
- How much is the cash prize?
- You just posted a link (twice) to a site that redirected to another site. Next time you want to link to your stuff you should, ya know, link to the right site.
- So this is just a little scheme to get a few Flash advertisements made about your site?

Good God, don't you have anything besides bomb-shelter food? What's the deal with that?

..::mullet::..

That's a pretty gnarly mullet there, I haven't seen one of those in a long time. Having a mullet is, like, a total punk thing to have, defying all standards of decency, just saying "fuck you, I don't care" to the world. You are a bold man TheCriminalDuder.

Response to: Hows This Posted October 4th, 2007 in Game Development

While jellybeans bumping into each other and flipping around might be amusing to you but, truthfully, it is a very poor quality Flash. I'd just scrap it and retain the things you learned while making it so that you can make something better.

Response to: A t-shirt lacking a home Posted October 3rd, 2007 in Art

That will never happen. No company on earth would stock blank shirts of every possible hex code of color. I seriously doubt that they could even mix dyes with that kind of precision. Just not possible.
