I'd appreciate if you comment more about how did you made them. I'd find it really interesting and we could learn something useful. Maybe we could even submit something.

Learn about the Vanishing Point and try something more simple next time. Just try to understand before trying complex cases like a kitchen room.
Well... my last pic for today, I suppose. Yeah, it's another Betty Boop. This time more finished, and, yes, it's from my sketch notebook so, hello again to blue grid...
I really hope you like it.

Thank you really much for letting me in this project, Luis. I promise next year I'll do something much better for it.

But I made three guesses, so it was not big deal anyhow...
Well, this morning I went to work and almost killed my partner from a heart attack from the shock. I wasn't supposed to work today, so she was startled to see a person in the store. Thus, I went back home and worked a bit on portraits and stuff.
... But... I put a bunch of Helen Kane & Mae Questel songs in my WinAmp... So, eventually, I ended up making this sketch.
I think I'm succeeding in reaching one of my personal goals: drawing a competent, classical-looking Betty Boop, without redesignings of any kind. Of course it still looks like something I've drawn myself, but if you look the cartoons, you can see Betty's not really exactly drawn the same, the animator's personal style is really put into the drawings.
On this one, I also tried something discouraged when drawing Betty: Make her lift her head. She has no neck (Or it's so small it can't be seen.), so this is almost like trying to draw Mickey Mouse's head from upwards. And I say "almost" 'cause I think Betty's problem can be resolved... What do you think?
I hope you like it, and comments would be really welcome this time.

Allow me to clarify this matter, my good sir.
To me, your sympthoms are really clear... From now on, you'll stop blinking. In a few days, you won't be able to close your eyelids at all. Then, your hair will drop and your skin will turn all scaly.
Soon enough you'll be able to reunite with your deep brothers and sisters and dance in the sea under the guidance of Father Dagon and Mother Hydra, preparing for the coming of the great Cthulhu and the rising of the city of R'lyeh...
...It´ll happen soon. And you're the Last Prophet.
By the way... Have I made myself clear that your art is totally mindblowing?
(Daaaaaammmn... The situation is even worse this time...)
Ima, look Wikipedia about the Carrie White subject. Then, watch the Brian DePalma movie. Best pic about teen angst EVER.

Euh... Well I sent the paper last friday and... well, that's all... What was the question, again...?
It's getting a little bit hard to tell what your influences are to there are times you have been switching back and forth to both anime and northern style art.
I aim to be an accomplished artist... One day... Maybe never... Mm, well, the thing is that I like all sort of stuff and I love to research in how graphic style can affect the "mood" of your picture/story... Plus, it's really good for you.
I have been quite confused on how you usually put your characters in many different angles and poses as if they appeared in three D. Where did you get such a example?
I've just drawn with the extremely poor means within my reach (A tiny piece of crinkled paper and a tipless pencil on an overcrowded table. I had to twist my back so unnaturally that almost broke my spine in two or three parts.) something to illustrate this. No big deal, then. It had to be a "1-2 minute sketch"... Oh, the one on the left is just for compensate.
As you see, for this portrait, I first drew a ball, with two lines cutting it in halves: the vertical one for the center of the face and the horizontal one shows the position of the brow (or eyes, depending on your choice of facial proportions.) and the "tilt" of the face. From this line, I draw a square shape for the jaw. Then you just draw on top of that. Simple, isn't it?
(Dammit... I have to answer this... Quick, I need a quick picture! Hmm... this will do...)

Sorry, this sort of things usually happens when english is not your mother tongue or you think too much about stuff... It was a last-minute blooper on my side.
But I still want breast :D...
Ok, I hope you like this one. 'Later! This is nice, good detail and shading without overdoing it. The only problem is I'm not sure what its gender is.. I'm guessing it is a female based on the facial features, but her jaw and neck are a little manly. Other than that, nice sketch!
Good eye, I thought the same when I finished it. I try not to be too generic in this kind of drawing, though, that's why sometimes features are somewhat unclear about gender... (And the fact that I worked on a character who could pass for man or woman and something still remains from that...)
Looking at your sig... Don't you find that subject quite interesting?
Oh, I also made my point about your blog's subject.
Anyway, answer: Look for Adam's apple.
Filler picture. Hey, Vooooousielle... <3

Well, I felt I had to draw something in order to make all these comments... So here you have it.
Do you notice something strange...? Yeah, no blue grid. It's because I noticed when doing my SB Tour '08 entry that I've passed too much time doing tiny drawings, so I needed a larger surface. It was hard at first, but it's really good for your... Uuuuh (need help here.)... for making steadier lines... I mean, that.
As usual, no eraser. Corrections take time and I want to make it as raw as possible, leaving the construction lines for all people who ask me how I do my drawings can actually see how I make them. Look carefully and you will notice.
Ok, I hope you like this one. 'Later!

Doodling At Work #02
Drawn yesterday and the day before yesterday. This time features the consequences of watching too many American Greetings postcards, a guy I think you call "white trash", some portraits, and whateva stuff.
I really hope you like them.
Dammit, I didn't want to send it so late, but I really panicked about the idea of trashing the only one sheet of paper available.
At 8/8/08 08:57 AM, Luis wrote: Yeah it should flatten out moderately. I think Occluded's idea of scanning before mailing is a good one. I'll have to include that in the next tour. Some entries do inevitably get lost in the post office. That would be a nice get out of jail free type of option.
I also thought of that... Maybe I shouldn't have rushed to the post office so happily...
The online version is just a byproduct of the real sketchbook. The project is a 'sketchbook' tour for a reason.. the pages should in theory exist in a real sketchbook.
Luckily, next week, you'll have my paper in your tiny little hands...
It come out quite unimaginative and I have to admit I took the coward's way to overcome my problem of screwing the page... But, well, you all will judge by yourselves eventually.
My final day-off for this week... Back to work tomorrow... So here's another old doodled page.
Oh gawd, how I've missed you.
And you came with the excellent work you accustomed us to... Welcome back, JaggyDude. Please, don't leave us like that again.
Gosh, this really sounds weird... But I really missed you, honetly.

I really liked your thread, but there has passed some time since I saw anything from you. I'm really happy to see you posting here, giving me the chance to praise your skills. You go,grrl.
Here's another sheet, just because I don't like to post without images.
This one features my rendition of Cecil, the Dark Knight from Final Fantasy IV. The first RPG I've ever played and, possibly, my favourite FF to date.
Hope you enjoy them.

This morning, I felt that I need to go back to the basics and took my "How to draw comics the Marvel way" book and copied this John Buscema picture. I really suck at copying pictures... But, nevertheless, it was good practice.
I thought it fitted this thread, so here it goes. I hope you like it.
I'm really glad you liked them! thanks to all you people!

Daaayumm... It's a real pity to hand out the answer only for the last character... but here it goes:
The last one is Pink, from the funny hentai manga/anime Dragon Pink.
By the way, PrinceFlea, although your art remains as interesting as always, I'd appreciate if you start to use the puctuation signs in your posts. They look kinda creepy without them, man...
Well, here's another sheet. I really hope you enjoy it.
Well, I think I call it a day for now...
This last one is dedicated to PrinceFlea. And, no, don't bother trying to guess which super-robot is this, because I made it all up.
I hope you enjoyed all of these... Maybe I could repeat this show next week.
OK, this one's not really good... but I liked the idea and I wanted to share it with you.
This was a goofy concept for a comic about a special task force like Charlie's Angels... But with famous kitty-like manga/anime characters. I know there's a male, but he's not "Charlie". "Charlie" is not shown on this pic, but if one day I do this, you'll have some laughs when you see him...
Do you recognize all the characters?
Another little comic panel dedicated to Colonel Vousielle.
Hope you enjoy it.
I think I'm going to be some more time here... So here's another.
As PunchOrBePunched said... Nothing like the ol' good Bic ballpen.
As you can see, I used (well, I still use.) any kind of paper to draw...

This paper reacted really bad to ink, so it looks horrible. But, well...
Well, it's really interesting.
Maybe you should take a look at a european comic called "Sky Doll" by Stefano Barbucci and Barbara Canepa. Your pic reminded me of its main character, Noa. Browse its homepage, I'm sure you'll like it.
And for the PhotoShop thingy... Well I don't know to do that, so, point for you!

Oooph... First day-off I've got to post sumthin'... Sorry not to be in the mood of typing, I'd want to thank Vousielle and Flap-doodlez for keeping this alive.
I have to scan some more of my old stash... Meanwhile, I'll post this one. Hope you like it.
OK, I'm really disappointed.
How much days has this thread been open? A week? And NO starting pictures yet.
Dammit... According to the rules this should've been locked... Well it has been dying anyway.
BUT... It's still a good idea. And I´m not fond of opening threads myself. So here it goes one.
I drew this a long time ago, but when I saw this thread I decided to vector it. I started this tuesday... but then, a phone call interrupted me. It was an offer for working as a videostore clerk... And, boy, work is really, REALLY scarce around here. Today I´ve been able to rest at last and finish this pic, so it was kind of a quickie.
Well, It's easy to know who is this, isn't it?
