I saw a mod changed the tag of my submission from last year so that it is submitted for this years calendar. Thanks to whoever went through the trouble of doing that, but I wasn't trying to ask for it to be added. I was just trying to say that it'll be interesting to see if the deadline is pushed this year, when last year I had asked for one and was shut down.

I removed the 2011 submission from the art portal as I spent a great deal of time on the one for this year so it's the only one I want considered for this years competition. Sorry for any confusion.

I saw this a while back and thought it was a pretty unique story and setting. The animation is a little choppy here and there, but it seems as if RedHarvest put a lot of effort into it, and it was a shame to see it never got the attention it deserved.

I don't get why there are so few submissions this year. There were 5 or 6 pages last year. I'm liking what I see this year though, so even with the fewer submissions I definitely think we'll have a solid 12. I just hope its not too solid where mine gets bumped off. :D

Thanks to all the voters who allowed me to be in the top 5 monthly movies. I've come 6th a few times, but this is the first time ever I've made it. I'm pretty excited about it. When I receive the certificate I'll probably post a pic of me with it. Am I fat? Am I ugly? Do I have a goatee and wear a fedora? Am I black? Only time will tell........

The movie "Closing In" should get some buzz. I'll check those others out.

Well, I don't really have scenes anymore. It's two scenes full of movie clips. Those movie-clips contain the frames from each scene I had before. So a next scene command wouldn't really do anything. Thanks though.

Right now I need two scenes since the first scene reached the 16000 frame limit. If you use scenes, it doesn't limit you.

I was thinking, on the time line, it should play something like frames 3000 to 3250, and it skips them, and goes right on to frames 3251. Is there a way to play a range of frames?

Before I had AS on the frame before the "scene" (it's a movie clip on the timeline now), that said "gotoAndPlay ( 3000 );"

It would play the next frame, and then cut away. Is there a way to force it to play frames 3000 - 3250 using AS?

OnionsXD, I have the same problem, but if you put your sound in a movie clip, and put that movie clip where the sound is supposed to be, it plays fine. It's stupid that you have to do that, but that's the case.

As for sounding like an angry 13 year old, each day I have this problem, my age regresses a year. I've spent entire days trying to figure out how to fix this and I still don't have a solution. I've tried using action script to force the movie to play, and it sort of almost worked but didn't. Still hoping someone has an idea on what I could try.

Sup guys. I'm about finished with an animation, and now I'm getting to the point where I can't ignore this problem anymore. I created this movie in multiple scenes to make things less confusing and free of clutter. I recently compiled all the separate scenes into one big scene by converting each scene into a movie clip. That way I have one to two layers in one scene, and that's it.

The problem is, before and after I compiled all the scenes, when I tested the movie, it would skip entire scenes. Another scene plays about half of what it should, and the last scene I have just sort of skips in an endless loop. When the problem first emerged, I copied everything I had into a new .fla and it worked. I tried it again the second time around, and it didn't work.

What blows my mind, is when I compiled everything into one scene, I re-did the scenes that were fucking up, and it played all the way through. I backed that version up, and started working on it some more. I tested it again, and it fucked up again. I'm about ready to blow my fucking brains out with a mother fucking shotgun. Has anyone else had this problem before? If so, did you fix it?

I feel slightly responsible for the delay, since I dicked around at the office and made you guys lose valuable time. To make up for it, I submitted some stuff as soon as I saw it implemented. I like what I see so far, and will continue to submit things. Fucking sweet.

Hahahah oh man, that shit is funny. When it's the best 5 my movie is 6th. With it's best 6 my movie's 7th. I can't catch a fucking break. Congrats to the winners though. I enjoyed them all thoroughly.

I'm surprised you guys broke down and gave a choice. Obviously it's going to take some time to get this system as tight as the now dubbed "Classic" view. That's a hell of a nice thing to do.

There are a few suggestions I have, but I can't imagine you guys aren't already working on them as I type this, so it's probably redundant.

I know that there are ratings icons on the top left, and I know what they mean. If I was just coming to this site, I don't know if I would. With the wide layout you have a lot of space to put "Mature" or "Everyone", or "Only For Grandpa and the Dog". Also, with so much space in that bar, you have a change to display the awards in the top bar that people covet so much. To put them below the Author Information doesn't lessen the achievement, but might obscure it for people who don't know where to look.

Movie score is also a bit harder to find, but it's not a scavenger hunt or anything. And maybe that's what you guys want, so people will start watching without a preconceived notion on the overall "worth" of the flash that score is associated with. It's also been said that the voting icons themselves are a bit smaller in comparison now, but I think Lil'jim already addressed that was being worked on.

All in all, I see a lot of potential for this layout, and think it's going to make this site even more cutting edge than it already was.

I've been wanting to make a game for a long-ass time, but when I asked if anyone wanted to help program, I got nothing. Maybe with this new project pitch I can finally find someone who is willing to join the team. Below was a 5 minute mock-up of a character. I guess I'll start the PMing now.

I really like the new loader. I'm digging the rougher style. It's got a more "painterly" feel of it. Adds some personality. I'll definitely be using it for my flash. I'm going to try and add the API into it, which I've never done before, so lets hope I figure it out by thursday.

i just got flashmx on my computr and i wanna know if i can sumbit sumthing to the collab im not the best animatr but i got a lotta ideas of things thatd be reall funny. i wuz thinkin itd be funny to have chun li do that kick real fast n shed hurt her leg and have to get a leg cast, or a guys car dies so blanka uses his elektricity to jump the car lol. if you guys could pm me id really like 2 no if i can b a part of the collab or maybe sum1 would help me animate since im not very good. what do you guys think?

I'd just like to say that Naruto is the best thing ever created, and that not only should there be a Naruto Collab instead of a Street Fighter Collab, but Newgrounds should become a Naruto Fan site that solely consists of Tribute Music Videos with popular alternative rock songs. Believe it, bitch.

Even though everyone goes apeshit for the Metal Gear Awesome series, the characters aren't original Newgrounds content. Even though it draws a lot of viewers to the site, I personally would rather see original characters from well known Newgrounds artists - which there are a ridiculous amount of.

Khale is a legit character, and since the guy who makes that series said he was planning on somewhere around 40+ episodes (holy shit), he'll be around for a while.

Paladin was a long series that attracted a lot of viewers.

Synj would be a good addition. Though Dan has moved on to other things, Synj is still my favorite character of his.

Rebecca would be a hilarious character to add, but so would the guys from cotton roots, Eddie from Eddie, and so on. The stick figure with a face character idea was pretty good too. I'd choose the one with the mustache.
