Glavca, you're kind of getting on my nerves. don't give us crap and then call us dead. and how in the world could the .swf file be that huge? unless you're talking about submitting the .fla to mickey, which you shouldn't be doing anyway because he hasn't accepted it.

My brain Is dying. I need sleep. Damn insomnia ruining my thought process!

Response to: Throw The Ball! (collab) Posted December 9th, 2009 in Game Development

Nightbird: someone posted that on like the second page of this thread lol. btw the collab is using a whoever is best system to determine who's in.

rich: just a round ball. I'm pretty sure the colour doesn't matter.

Response to: The Kirby Collab Posted December 9th, 2009 in Game Development

It doesn't really matter to me about the other sprited parts. I just really want to see this collab be a success, limiting yourself to sprites is totally just putting a limit on how good you are now, and will ever be. and the sprited parts are outnumbering the drawn parts, which was something you didn't want to happen. and on the flip side using sprites to animate because of the time advantage is pretty silly. most animations take a long time to do. also, if you want me to animate that sound clip I totally will. after I finish my throw the ball collab part. I'm scared to death of working on 2 animations simultaneously. I even have camera angles planned out in my head for that part. If you want me to make a version just send me the audio. It shouldn't take very long.

Response to: The Kirby Collab Posted December 9th, 2009 in Game Development

>_> at least do it for yourself. they don't even move in that skit lol. they just stand in place. PLUS sprite movies will subtract from the collab's overall score. BREAK FREE FROM SPRITES, nobody will hire you based on your skill as a sprite animator (unless thats the kind of work you would be doing) trust me. You'll be glad you threw them away. It may seem hard at first but don't give up. Practice practice practice! And Ive seen your fryguy drawings, its not like you could only animate a part for this collab free hand if you somehow made kirby a stickman.

Response to: The Kirby Collab Posted December 9th, 2009 in Game Development

That doesn't really matter lol. that would be like saying you dont want to eat a sandwich because you've only had hamburgers.

Response to: The Kirby Collab Posted December 9th, 2009 in Game Development

aw, c'mon. as the leader of the collab what kind of message are you trying to convey by declining most sprite animators. it's okay for you to use them? drawing that part would only take a day. DO IT

Response to: The Kirby Collab Posted December 9th, 2009 in Game Development

thats actually REALLY funny. but since its short you could have drawn it, in fact you should.

Response to: The Kirby Collab Posted December 9th, 2009 in Game Development

I'm pretty sure you guys aren't co-authored because you aren't done yet...? I haven't been following closely but thats my first guess.

Response to: The Kirby Collab Posted December 8th, 2009 in Game Development

*drool* The collab is starting to take shape!

Response to: The Kirby Collab Posted December 8th, 2009 in Game Development

Nooo this means I have to pull another flash outta my ass before the end of the year to make my submissions list of '09 not lop-sided. I think i'm gonna go yell at the wall now.

Response to: Throw The Ball! (collab) Posted December 8th, 2009 in Game Development

I can't believe I just did that.

Response to: The Kirby Collab Posted December 8th, 2009 in Game Development

Heh... sorry. I was eating dinner and then I started animating a part for the throw the ball collab. I'm really sorry the file size is enormous. but in .swf form its like less than 400kb. thanks for the enjoyable ride. I'll lurk around this thread from time to time. BTW co-author me.

Response to: I can't put audio in Flash MX!! Posted December 8th, 2009 in Game Development

youre right, but wav files are bigger. and for some reason .wav files crackle and mp3s dont. but that could be just me.

Response to: Throw The Ball! (collab) Posted December 8th, 2009 in Game Development

You should spent less time on the ball floating because when the ball gets kicked away its so fast the viewer isnt able to understand whats happening. To me it just looked like a mass of flailing limbs.

I'm totally having some .fla size issues. I can't upload it to spamtheweb. any other sites I can upload to?

Response to: The Kirby Collab Posted December 8th, 2009 in Game Development

lol, i didn't read the list. I'm usually not on it.

Response to: Throw The Ball! (collab) Posted December 8th, 2009 in Game Development

the ball floated like it was in space. thats a LITTLE BIT too slow :P also you might wanna not use stick people or use a jpeg bg. its basically wasting what little time you spent on it.

Response to: The Kirby Collab Posted December 8th, 2009 in Game Development

can someone tell me I'm done? it doesnt even need to be a member of the collab. just someone acknowledge me for once.

Response to: The Kirby Collab Posted December 7th, 2009 in Game Development

I am SOOOO close to finishing. All I have left is cel shading. does it matter or can I just be done now?

Awesome! I'm glad you guys got in. I just have to finish my damn kirby collab part. (I'm SO close!)

Response to: The Kirby Collab Posted December 7th, 2009 in Game Development

We should release it before 2009 ends. (I don't want mt submissions of 2009 to be lopsided)

Response to: The Kirby Collab Posted December 7th, 2009 in Game Development

Hello, my name is Radwalrus I've been here quite a while.

Response to: Throw The Ball! (collab) Posted December 6th, 2009 in Game Development

I think we all prefer that type of entry. Good decision O' great Mickey.

Response to: Throw The Ball! (collab) Posted December 6th, 2009 in Game Development

Well in that case I'm confident he'll be accepted... If he know whats good for him. *cocks shotgun* I'm really close to finishing my kirby collab part. I'll be able to start really soon.

At 12/6/09 08:59 PM, Skelo wrote: Greetings! I am here to request that I may partake in such an event as this. I've been animating for several years, and would like to get some practice for submitting to NewGrounds with collabs such as this in order to prepare for bigger projects. I intend to work for a extended period of time making this as excellent as I possibly can.

I think we should let Skelo join, I know him in real life so I have the right to keep an eye on him and make sure he is doing his best. I KNOW he will spend more than ten seconds on his part I'll make sure of that, HDXmike and I were worried about how little time people spend on there animations. and at this point I think there probably a few animators who suck but were accepted anyway. I really think we should give people who were too late to sign up a chance so we can filter out the sucky parts. in conclusion Skelo is great.

Response to: The Kirby Collab Posted December 6th, 2009 in Game Development

theres nothing stopping you from making a stand alone kirby flash.

Response to: Throw The Ball! (collab) Posted December 6th, 2009 in Game Development

@hdxmike: I plan to work really hard on this. I wont let us look stupid. I really want this collab to be awesome, so harsh criticism Could do anything BUT make the collab look bad.

@the1manwiththeplan: theres a little strip of white at the bottom. also if you send it to me I can add sound effects.

@mickey: does the colour of the ball matter, and can we have a bios section? I love reading those on other collabs.

Response to: Throw The Ball! (collab) Posted December 6th, 2009 in Game Development

I thought it was pretty good, maybe you could add a simple background, and maybe facial expressions on the blue thing? It kinda looks like a *you know exactly what I think it kinda looks like*
