turn its left hand round to 3/4 or thereabouts, the index finger and thumb shouldn't bend like that sideways [at least mine don't]. Also the colouring on that arm in general looks kinda grimey. The skin colours look very spooky and blend nicely though : )
Also, on his shoulder cape thingy, bring his left shoulder down because the arm looks as though it should be going straight down from the shoulder, not out at an angle like his right arm.

It's a really bad idea to use the preset grass brush in photoshop, mostly because it's really obvious and doesn't look anything like real grass when used excessively. I'd recommend sticking to basics rather than trying to make the background really detailed and the main focus simple. For example like in cartoons, when grass is often depicted as lines with the odd zigzag. It's simple yet effective.

How did you do the structural backgrounds in the most recent images?

Your art's looking great; of course I'd fully recommend studying anatomy with loomis, or if you want a good book sarah simblet's "anatomy for the artist" is excellent.

They are boring! If your actually wanna make decent (not boring) art then you should get a real art program and not use ms paint... http://re2deemer.newgrounds.com/news/pos t/309622

Thats a generalisation! I've seen plenty amazing arts made on mspaint, although the way these're filled, I doubt mspaint was used... :/
But yes, these pictures are pretty dull. TheRedGiant, you should work on making spiffier/more interesting images and whatnot.

thats looking pretty cool, although i must admit I didn't know what the aqueducts were, so you might like to redraw those or something : ) The adventurer is looking great though! Don't forget about using line weight to help give it more form
lil' thing though, the shield looks more like a gravestone than a shield to me, so would be worth making it thinner and less boxy, and making it complement his outfit more by taking common features and using them in the shield, like say a logo or border design : )
be sure to post the finished version!

I'd say go read art101 instead ofprocrastinating, and do what j-qb says 'cause those are probably the two best things you can do. Asking for different advice just makes out that you don't want to do what's already been suggested... :/

lol i'd be interested to see what comes out of this, even though i'd think guitar hero was more popular, not that it matters...

although i think saying what games you'd like people to do kinda defies the point of picking your own game to draw fanart of :/ just be patient and the art will come

But I did take the negative reviews into account and am experimenting with blending techniques now. I started a thread about it, but I guess most people don't care about pencil. haven't gotten a reply yet.

Those reviews are just people's opinions. I think the skin looks really good and realistic personally. It's good that you've taken the negative parts into account though : ) Good luck with getting some good feedback with your new piece! ^^

little note - her thumb and index finger should be pushing against each other otherwise the fan would fall out of her hands, and remember there's another little semicircle thing past the joint where the flat stick things cross over.

love the pattern on her dress though! ^^

Response to: Need Help With Cel Shading... Posted January 9th, 2010 in Art

sorry that it's a lil off topic but her eye looks really odd where it is, kinda like a bug or something. Try moving it over to the right and up a bit more, around where the headband is

You might want to fix that before you start colouring. Also, most cell shading that I know of doesn't use the soft/blurry end brush, so you might do well to use a hard brush instead. Also contrasting the colours, ie using a dark, medium and light colour, tend to work well too, plus shadows/highlights.
