Yeah thats whatsthe most important, your own style and doing your own thing and then it doesnt matter what your making. not saying that you 'have' to make breakcore -.<

Some crusties or hippies decided to make a docu about it >.>

Anyways, breakcore comes in a wide variety, cuz its more of the step up from DnB and jungle. The thing is you can do anything with Breakcore, when it started it was more of the thing that was harder then DnB and jungle, now you can do just anything with Breakcore really, heck I even make a lounge/breakcore track, but I also got terror/happyhardcore/trance/tekno

The thing is you can do whatever you want, as long as its well loud, a bit crazy, and er, fast even though you can also do it slow >.>

bit hard to define I think xD

After reading through the DnB Time blah blah contest topic and listening to some shit I was wondering if I am the only person on newgrounds that listens and produces breakcore.

I have been running in to some more breaks lately and I was wondering if there is any other person on here that produces (would like to produce) breakcore.

So for that reason: breakcore contest...
and actually not really a contest more of a get together of people who (as its says above) produce, listen to breakcore.

If anybody's interested in showing of some breaks and stuff, please do apply, and hopefully we will turn this portal into mayhem.

Masterings a bitch with a hat,
You could spend 4 years mastering before you really get the hang of it, (i myself suck at it so :P). When you start producing more and more studio monitors are definetly a must. But still, I might produce mix and whatever on my studios, but after that I check my songs on a good headphone, and after that I'll listen to its on a PA system, and after that I'll randomly listen to it on a couple of mp3 players. And if that all together sounds good, then I'm happy, otherwise, its back to the studio monitoring drawing board.

ps. A thing I always do when I have finished a song is turn up the bass till it cant go anymore, if your song still sounds good after that, then its ready for playing live. Cause when you'll be turning it up live, there's a good chance that you got like 4 huge woofers next to you, and then you're bass has to sound good otherwise your fucked, atleast thats my idea.

I use audacity, but that doesn't really say anything as I also try to use ableton and nuendo.

2. Its a bit hard to tell you what kind of bass sound or line you got to use when we don't know what kind of drums you are using and what kind of genre you are trying to create music in. So untill we know that, or atleast know how your 'drums' sound, I don't really think anybody can help you :P.

You should look up the Korg Microkontrol, it has everything 49 or 88 keys, pad control, synth control, you can just simply control every bit of equipment in like (reason) with just that microkontrol, but yeah, then it costs quite a bit though :P

Currently waiting myself for my Korg 49 but what I actually want is a Korg microkontrol+a Khaospad

Look up laurent garnier, he was a fashion designer blahblah but he actually wanted to make music, so he started making acid/house/pussy :P. But look him up, he's like the guru of 'fashion house'.

I personally don't like reason 4, just use reason 3, I think its much more user friendly, even though some of the reason 4 features are nice.
4 Just doesn't really add anything to me.

Just a catchy melody and simple beat at 130/140 it doesnt have to be difficult to sound nice, alot of times, easier and more minimal sounds beter

yeah, but in time the flkeys sound is very limited, with the synths you can produce much richer piano, even though it is just not like a real piano :-/ thats the flaw of FL I guess, compared with REASON

Look I did not say I was not going to give any credit, as I said 'collaboration' , the person who will take my offer will offcourse get alot to say about the outcome of the game and will receive twice the credit I get or even more, like I care (I JUST WANNA MAKE THIS IDEA REALITY), I just have had this idea stuck in my mind for several months now and this is my last option, to ask somebody else for help. Believe me I've tried, I've tried and thrown three keyboards against my wall and atleast a dozen of mouses in frustration.

Topic: Game Idea, need help with script

Posted: 02/16/07 10:43 AM

Forum: Flash

I'll skip all the jibbering jibjab and jump right to it.

I have an Idea for a "great" platformer flash game (ill explain my idea later) the only problem is I cannot seem to get any platform engine playing, there's always something wrong and it's getting really frustrating since animating everything is not a problem.

Thats why I need help,
I am looking for somebody who can write me a flash game engine that can do the following parts:
-Scrolling background when the character moves, also when the character moves up (jumps) or falls down the background should follow that movement as well, so x and y.
-Mouse controlled character : The further the mouse moves from the character the faster he will walk in that direction and the character has to jump when the right mouse button is clicked, the character should also move in the direction that the mouse is headed when jumping.
-A ground that is walkable and an open area that if the character falls in he dies.
-A life system in which the player has a maximum of 3 lives.

Doesnt sound too difficult now does it? Well to me it obvious does since I failed in getting it to work.

Anyways. My idea for the game is a richly (and with that I mean very rich) animated world with a very unique and crowded feel to it. challenges in the form of loads of moving terrain and other interactive challenges like airballoons which have to be ridden and just loads of other stuff.
The game will consist of 3 levels with a unique feel and setting to everyone of them and different sorts of challenges.

Now I have calculated that for the animation purposes I only need that simple engine, so I am desperatly looking for somebody who could supply me with the script, see it as a collaboration of some sorts.

If anybody's interested leave a post and otherwise send me an email: tim_mfc@yahoo.com

ps. If you want to get a feel of how the style of the game is check this little thingy I quickly made: http://nixonx.110mb.com/animatedwebindex.html (not finished or anything.)
