Top Tier maybe, but not the best (personal preferance). The workflow is by far the most streamlined though IMO (Comparing that to my decent knowledge of Reason, Cubase, Studio ONE, Reaper and Sonar)There are however several things that could and should be fixed in it.

But I've heard that IL has a policy of adding more random things instead of fixing problems. Which they seem to strongly have been enforcing since version 7.

Anyhow back to the OP.....

Objectivly speaking FL Studio can do pretty much anything any other DAW can do, it's essentially a VST host with a sequencer and mixer (so is SO, Cubase and Reason (Reason run natives, not external plugins) etc etc yaddayadda).

It happened 2 years ago too, with his 'Remix my song "Russia Privjet" - competition" , he made everyone remix his crap, made everyone set his myspace picture to basshunter's gay face :/ With the promise that the winning song would get released with his new album.

After months of waiting, nobody ever heard who'd won, and everybody realized basshunter was an asshole..

Looks like he's stealing again -_-

Yes, the winner apparently didn't get a single cent from the web release either(Supposedly that was the only media the remix was released on, so the deal was broken there aswell).

And people wonder what I have had against BH & co these past years.....

That wasn't at all related, but thanks anyway :). No I'm actually still using what came preinstalled on my laptop (Vista 64). It seems that the problems are non existant inside a VM running XP 32.
It raises quite a few questions though.

I agree about the contest being a fraud and yes obviously I'm the one being a trolling whore.

really dude, no need to be a dick about it.

My intent wasn't to come across as a dick at all, sorry if that's the way it came across. I'm just more confused as to why it seems like ONLY TC is picking up bad vibes from this and none of the other contestants (meaning they seem more or less ignorant).

one of them even had the audacity to attack TC for pointing this out.

AFAIK this isn't the first time BH is involved in dodgy shit like this either, so I'm not really suprised.

Anyhow, I'm with TC on this, not against him.

Hey there fellow Fl Studio users. I've gone back to FL Studio for the speedy workflow when I'm making "VG music" but as always with FL Studio there are problems all over!

I've always been wanting some heavy metal riffs for my battle themes and whatnot and I just recently discovered this awesome pack for NI Kontakt 4.

Now the thing that stumps me is that it will load an instance fine one time in FL Studio, but FL Studio will not be able to load a project with Kontakt 4 in it afterwards.

I went ahead and checked every possible solution I could think of, (including testing cracked versions of said full version).

Things I've already tested:
Turning on/off multithreading, plugin reset on transport, sound drivers, compatibility modes, reinstalling FL Studio / Kontakt player, virus/(whatevz)ware scans.

I've googled this problem along with my general erratic daw's behaviour and have not found a single result that helped or even came close to representing a similar problem.

That being, if anything at all happens FL studio freezes with empty dialog boxes and has to have the process terminated Ctrl-Alt-Del style. This applies to Fl studio versions 7-9.0.3. I'm suspecting FL studio (being a purely 32 bit program) works like a shitbrick on a 64bit system but that doesn't explain why FL 6 and below works properly.

However FL Studio 7 and up has features that I NEED so downgrading isn't an option at all for me.

These problems apply to other computers aswell as a legit/not so legit copy of the daw.

I guess I've got to correct this if it makes no sense later, I'm kinda multi-multi-multitasking atm.

Feel free to add b0unc3.music@gmail.com as I'd love to solve this problem as fast as possible.

How ironic, I started composing a "Boss battle theme" 2 days ago. But considering I'm still a noob I'm not sure if I'll post it yet or not :O. Any VG mastah's willing to lend me an ear or 2(or 3 depending on the gender)?

Speaking from experience eh?;)

By the way, the soundgoodizer is simply a dumbed up (you get a whole extra knob) preset loader for Maximus with a wet knob.

You can see the a-d presets for the SG in the Maximus preset menu and edit them to sound better.

Whenever I'm doing a song I usually throw around demos top people to hype them up like crazy, after that's done I trash the projectfile.

When I listen to some electro, some notes are played normally while some are played with porta, is there any way to switch between the 2 without using automation clips and without the slide thing in piano roll?

Set the plugin you're using to play only 1 note at a time (mono). When 2 notes overlap that will create the portamento effect.

Response to: What's your hearing range? Posted August 7th, 2010 in Audio

Last time I checked I could hear well above 20khz.

like waaaay above, but just to be accurate I'll find the papers later, assuming this isn't locked by that time

My hearing is weird as hell though, I hear things so sharply that it's quite comfortable having my ears full of wax to block high frequencies out. (Not that I do on a regular basis....That's just nasty)

Highly unlikely since mastering will only enhance whats already good. If the mix is mediocre, mastering itself will not make it sound awesome.
