start doing it as one big midi chunk instead of separate patterns, so you have no point of reference ;D

That's what I'm doing though :(.

What kind of music do you want? (Orchestral, techno, metal, polkastep etc)?
Would it be a paid gig?

It's pretty gay when you have to pay extra for "the name", but if you have the money to spend on a decent mac, you may find that the extra money is worth it to you. Personally, it all comes down to the software. I've used dozens of DAWs and none of them have stuck with me as long as Logic.

First off, I'm the mod so that makes me right by default.

You're correct but the tradeoff in computer price / software is still just bullshit to me.

Cheap ass PC = all the sofware you need for video editing, composing etc.
Expensive fucking bigmac = all the software you need for video editing, composing etc.

I don't see a reason to shell out THAT much extra money considering it's no world-shattering difference. I was gonna write a really witty reply but now I'm hungry so I'll just be the mature user here and say F U.

Macs suck! The only mac worth aaaaaaanything is a big mac, and that tastes like crap.

I've never used one, but the pricetag alone tells me it's probably not worth it for me.

Yeah, all the recent shit is amateurish as hell. The stuff made before nexus was much better.
I imagine dubstep was also better before everyone started using the same things.

What kills music isn't really the availability of tools, it's the lack of innovation. People get more lazy the more they get spoonfed.

Response to: Hands-Up is dying :/You interested? Posted August 23rd, 2011 in Audio

I wish you goodluck, but handsup is way beyond rescue at the moment. You'd probably have to wait it out.

Azora just doesn't cut it anymore.

So 1 artist makes the entire genre? That's incredibly narrowminded sir.

That track is from 05-06 so it was highly innovative for the time.

This was before the abundant availability of HQ samplepacks and romplers such as nexus.

But that's actually one of the more cheesy examples he could have showed you.

You call THAT generic? You really should stay away from the dance section in the AP then :P

But see here... A pro also doesn't settle for less than average results, they try to make it as good as it can be in their ears. I push forward by working on whatever I make until it sounds the way I want it, however long that might take. Or am I doing it wrong?

you've had writers block since "all the world." get over it and realize that perfection is subjective.

That's not a track of mine, but I'm assuming you mean PoE or the clones of it.

Sure thing, but I'm still not settling for something unless I think it sounds good enough to be "publicly displayed". I know that everyone has a different view on "perfection", but if I'm satisfied myself I have succeeded in making it as good as I can.

Hit me up on IM and I can show you exactly why I'm not putting it on NG at this moment in time.
