Every great kingdom in history ever has been very patriotic. Peaceful tribes and federations, less so.
Patriotism doesn't say anything about a nation's worth - it says a lot about the national psyche and idea of self. Of course, this pride can lead to a fall by overstretching your resources (see: Rome, Napoleonic France, the British Empire and America after Vietnam), but you're putting the cart before the horse brah.

That's kinda bullshit. LOTS of satires in America rag on liberals, and I can name three movies off the top of my head that hate on L.A. HARD. Thing is, compared to the rest of the world you guys are really quite right wing so of course there are more right wing nutters than there are left wing ones.
Besides, Tom Wolfe already did such a good job ripping on the liberals I don't feel there's that much left to say.

I feel like most superghandi64's posts are like TV episodes, and this is like the feature length movie.
10/10, would watch the sequel.

You act like consciousness is more than what was already explained, when you can't seem to grasp that your questions about consciousness aren't related to consciousness to begin with.
Lol you got me bro!

Consciousness is such a linear term, that of all of the discussions I came across, you're the only person that felt compromised enough to ask me "what do you mean by consciousness?".
lolk
Read some psychology on the subject brah, PM me if you're interested in a book list and stuff.

Does that include emotions? Does that include physical states? Can a person be consciousness and know/ feel nothing?

Idk, try splashing them with perfume or summat
I think we've got quite a few hiphop heads on NG, myself included. I think NG is disproportionately into nerd-core and experimental rap tho

But yeah, Scuare's album is insane for anyone who hasn't gotten the free download.

Stretch myself out in preparation and fit a bear trap inside my rectum - when your fist connects the bear trap comes down on your fist and we'll be linked forever.

Stuff them with socks, stick em in a pillow case and put them in a normal wash - works for my vans at least!
I see loyalty as really important - what does any relationship mean if you'd sell each other up the river at the first available chance?
I think it would help if you give a clear definition of what you mean by consciousness.

Calling somebody else fat won't make you any skinnier. Calling someone stupid doesn't make you any smarter. And ruining Regina George's life definitely didn't make me any happier. All you can do in life is try to solve the problem in front of you.

I don't mean online tests, I mean the actual rigorous 1 on 1 season with a professional psychologist who is trained in administering it. It gets to be pretty damn difficult to find the answer they're looking for out of all the possible lower scoring answers.
Yeah, of course I have, no-one's saying just anyone can get a high IQ score - we're just contesting that it's a true measure of intelligence as we would value it.
If someone is able to consistently answer correctly beyond your personal best, wouldn't you give them credit where it is due?
Yeah, but the question is what you give that credit for? It shows motivation, focus and being accustomed to abstract thought. It may also show some fluid cognitive ability that'll apply to other tests. The point is, you can't brag about IQ as a way to brag about your intellect - intellect is self evident, and should be evidenced through real world achievements.
At 2/26/14 08:18 AM, Ragnarokia wrote: IQ tests are good for the purpose of making sure people are intelligent enough to function properly ie. not retarded. Past that point it is rather irrelevant.
Pretty much. It's also pretty handle past that point if you want to see how good said person is going to be at any other abstract cognitive test that'll require focus, intuition and good test skills. It's not going to tell you much more than that though. Certainly being in top 5 percent just says you have the nerd skills - it may mean you're genuinely skilled at next level abstract tasks, but it also may not.
IQ's good at predicting shit, but don't fetishise it.

That's the point yo. The song's about being horrible inside and feeling disconnected from the world, so Aesop goes around finding disgusting, poisonous animals and trying to see the good in them. It's about the power and the limitations of love.

OH! And the song "None Shall Pass" by good ole Bazooka Tooth is a great one as well. I mean, they're all great, but I especially like this song.
YES. Definitely. Fucking, any Aesop bars pretty much, but Labor Days is the album you link anyone who asks about Aesop Rock. Have you played through Skelethon yet? I gotta say, even bars aside, the beats Aesop wrote for it are just crazy.
