Ad block plus is free and is your friend.

Ad Block is also destroying sites since without ads the sites can not make any revenue which makes the Supporter upgrade a great thing.

A great thing I can't afford.
Response to: Games You Keep Going Back To... Posted February 3rd, 2014 in Video Games

L.A. Noire - I'm currently on my 2nd playthrough of it and I love the story so I will regularly play through it every now and again simply to re-experience it.

Red Dead Redemption - Currently on my 2nd or 3rd playthrough and I will probably continue to play through it again in the years to come.

Metro: Last Light - I have not yet beat it once but the story and gameplay are sucking me that I am expecting myself to play through this a few more times before I put it down for good.

Mafia II - It's one of my favorite games ever and I've beaten it 3 or 4 times without ever owning it.

Fallout 3/New Vegas - So many options so little time. I've probably beaten 3 twice and Fallout: New Vegas once with my 2nd playthrough being paused a few missions before the end.

If that is the one coming soon then I'm in because that trailer basically sold the game for me.

5,000 posts for me!

Can you give some details about your submission? Perhaps someone thought it was stolen for some reason or perhaps someone asked for it to be removed and they had a valid reason.

I saw he was adding some Unity stuff to the API part of the wiki with Bren's help but I didn't know he was going to help so much. This is great for all the Unity devs out there.

Response to: The Game You're Currently Playing Posted February 2nd, 2014 in Video Games

At 2/2/14 11:35 AM, Dean wrote: Currently playing Uncharted with the intention of playing through the 3 games on PS3. To be honest, I'm not all that impressed with the first game so far, although granted it is almost 7 years old. There are just a few things about this game that bug me. The first thing that comes to mind is how awkward it is to pick up ammo. This shouldn't be difficult but it seems like you have to be standing in a pretty specific spot before it allows you to pick it up.

I always though that picking up ammo was a bit awkward myself and I have to agree with you. If you aren't standing at a precise point in the game you can't pick the ammo up which can cause death easily.

Another thing that bugs me is the difficulty. Sure, it's not exactly a hard game but some parts are just awkwardly annoying. If you want to kill an enemy without wasting more than half a clip, you need headshots and the aiming doesn't feel precise enough for that to be achievable in a couple shots. Like the section that I'm at now, for example, I've died at 3 times. Why do I die? Because enemies don't spawn until I walk through a door and I seem to have nowhere to take cover, get overwhelmed and die. It just feels like a cheap difficulty at these parts rather than rewarding challenge.

This couldn't be more true. Playing through the first one getting headshots was either impossible or I got shot before I could aim properly. Now the enemy spawning is atrocious sometimes. It is way too easy to get overwhelmed by enemies which is a big weak point of the game.

I'm not calling Uncharted a bad game, it's just not feeling like something I'd have considered a console selling exclusive. Just now it's feeling like a pretty average third person shooter/adventure game.

Just wait until you finish the first one. It will get better.

I watched the TotalBiscuit WTF is video on this game and if I had the money I would probably buy it. It looks pretty fun and he said the community is pretty helpful and the servers are always filled with a good amount of people.

I finished The Keys of Marinus two days ago. Started slow but the third episode and on was really good. I'm probably going to start and finish The Aztecs today.

BBC reporting that Philip Seymour Hoffman has died.

Already made a post in the General thread but this is pretty sad. He was a great actor. I wonder how the Hunger Games movie will be since they are filming the next one now and he just died.

I wrote a story trying to get into that book. My story sucked though. If I had money I would have gotten one way back when they came out.
