Thanks for the idea. A sponsorship wouldn't be a horrible idea, and certainly an option for me to consider while I don't have YouTube partnership status. For the time being, the production will not cost me anything except time so I will be trying to keep it bias-free and focused on education and not the financials. Obviously later on as it becomes more of a demand and my commitment becomes greater, I will be seeking ways to compensate myself for the time invested, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
Hey guys. I'm a college student in a tourism and travel program and I'm considering putting together a travel channel as a bit of a fun project. I'm looking to gauge interest from you guys and see if there's anything I've missed.
Each episode will cover a different region or country, depending on the size (for example, I plan to do the first episode on the Montreal-Niagara corridor in Canada (my home country) which covers Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Niagara). The topics covered include:
-Accommodations: this gives you an idea what your price ranges will be for different levels of accommodation, covers different common features that are common to that region, and approximately what level of quality the type of accommodation is in comparison to North American (a 5-star hotel in Mexico is not necessarily a 5-star in NA)
-Transportation: what forms of transportation are available to a traveller? Do you need to negotiate the price of a cab before getting in or is it a fixed fare? Are internal flights the bed way to get from point to point? Can you use your home- country's drivers licence to rent a car? How much is a car rental?
-Attractions: in this category I cover everything from natural, man-made, historical, cultural, festivals and everything else that somebody would want to see. Everybody travels for different reasons, so I am not being exclusive with certain groups.
I also make recommendations for different types of travellers. There's a lot more different kinds of travellers than people realize. Some of them include:
-Eco: these are people who want to explore a destination by seeing in its natural form.
-Adventure: the adrenaline-driven thrill-seeker of travellers
-Culinary: travellers that like to paint their palettes with rich flavours of food and drinks from around the world.
-Cultural: like to explore cultures unique or different from their own. These often include museums, temples, architecture and cuisine.
-Cruisers: those who feel at home on a cruise ship that range from river boats to mega-ships like the Norwegian Epic
-all the other kinds too. Throw me you suggestion to make sure I didn't miss any.
I'm thinking I'll divide the section into many different episodes, each one themed for a different type of traveller. Then I'd go and research another destination (for example I would want to do the islands and coast of Belize for one and Morocco in another).
Is this something you can see yourself watch? Would you find this useful if you were planning to travel? Do you want to travel but don't know enough to be able to commit? If so, I want to know what you think of the idea.
I also want to know what you don't like in this idea. Is there anything you would add/omit/change? Why would you not watch this channel?
Finally on a side note, I could use an animator for a short intro video. I know I should be looking in the other forum section and I will do if I get some more support here, but I just wanted to toss the idea out there.
Thanks guys. I'm excited to hear what you say.

Hello potential applicants,
Without going into great detail, I need an animator to make up a working flash demonstration of a project I'm working on. The reason I don't want to get into great detail is because in a year an a half, I will be graduating from a Tourism and Travel program and I want this idea (which seem really new and revolutionary to me) to have a working demo ready to be used.
Essentially the project is a new travel aid for any type of traveller. All I'm looking for at the moment is somebody to make a pretty and professional version if the hand-drawn demonstration I have created already.
I am a college student with a part-time job, so as such this position does not pay. However, in the near future I will need somebody experience in flash when the website goes online, and also when we start to make advertising. It is not until I have the working demonstration that I can start seeking investors and bring in funds for the project. Over the next several months, I will be seeking out an animator and programmers for this project, so only serious applicants please.
Whoever gets the position will be given the specific details of the project, the sketches, any voice files and any other required information.
Please note any interest below and highlight your three most impressive submissions for me. Any further information will be discussed at a later date at your convenience.
Thank you and take care,
-A
I found the "Informal Poetry Thread" and move this article over there.
If i find out how to delete this after posting, I will do that instead.
Here are three of my favorite poems that I have created in the past. I'm looking for your opinions and critisisms more than anything else. Thanks :)
Slowly Drifting Through a Star Ocean...
September 24, 2009
High above the mountain tops
High above the sea
High above the Milky Way
Flying high, just you and me
Grab my hand
And hold on tight
With nothing but stars
We're alone in the universe tonight
All around us
A meteor shower
We could drift on forever
Carefree of the hour
Out here in the endless
There isn't a sound
Just my hand in yours
Lets turn around
Back into civilization
Passed the space debri
Joyous from the time with you
Ma petite cherri
High above the Milky Way
High above the sea
High above the mountain tops
Grounded until tomorrow, just you and me.

Lost Garden
December 14, 2008
A silver tulip
In a garden of grey
Caught my eye
And my heart one day
Magnificent leaves
With a lucid reflection
Reflecting the light
In every direction
I'll sit in the dirt
Beside the efflorescence
Content to become one
With the beautiful essence
After tomorrow's dawn
And the spring morning dew
We will see if we have become one
Just me and just you.

Seaward
March 16, 2009
Standing ashore
But mind floating high
Lost in the currents and reflections
Of the horizon's forgotten tears
Seaward the mind floats away
Dancing on the ripples
From the soft melodic voice of the wind
And maternally caressed by its will
Of all the times lost
Where stories are born and told
In the endless expanse of sea
Is where I'll spend my years
It's time to set sail
And aim for the far
I'm off on a journey
To the edges of the earth
Should I return
I'll be surprised myself
But how can one predict
A future not in sight?
A forward only journey
A trip back in time
Where a mast has become
My body and mind.

You're completely right there. Other's visiting this thread should ignore the comment that says otherwise.
AlI really wanted to say was covered already by Dreamer so the best I can say is plot it out a little more and they let us know. You didn't really give us anything to critisize here but I'd be interested in throwing my opinion out there and maybe helping you figure out how you want it to play out.

Very good guide! I learned a lot from that. I have a really good mic too but the port only fits my Olympus audio recorder for when out covering a story. Does any1 know if you can buy an adapter that will allow me to use it a usb port?
Either works for me. I'm excited to see what you'll do with it.
And thanks for the praise :P Dispite having it online I don't really advertise it so it's nice to get a little recognition here and there :P
Thanks a ton man. I know there's a couple errors in some of them (I'm a terrible proofreader!).
Anyways, mind letting me check out the final product if you do end up using it?

That description actyally belongs beside "Fantasy Element"
I'm considering a project for the upcoming Lit Portal. I recently wrote a story with a friend where we chose a clear and defined general plot and ending and took turns writing a chapter. The catch was that we couldn't share with the other what path the story was going to take until we finished the story.
My proposal to you folks is to toss me an idea in the format I'm about to list and I'll contact you folks when we're ready to start.
My only recommendation is that it involves a fantasy scenario. It doesn't nessesarily have to have aliens or different worlds, but it must have something about it that sets it apart from our world.
Idea Format *NOTE: I chose a cliche scenario in the example below for realatability. You would be best not to follow that style :P
General Plot: Boy Falls in love with school-mate, decides he needs to gather the courage to ask her to the school dance.
Ending: Boy manages to ask her to dance, has the best night he's ever had.

Anyways, I'll be chacking back to see if I get responces. If you need to contact me directly for furthur info you can email me at: desert_fox858@hotmail.com but just make sure you use "Collaboration Story" in the subject line.
ok, so ive started to hang around the BBS lately because i'm trying to get some of my work out there. I haven't had the time to actually write up my stories yet because college is a real workload, but I've written down a few ideas for sotries.
In fact i'm planning a project sometime in the future - whenever I get a lot of free time - called '14 Shorts in 4' (inspired by Adam Phillips 30 shorts in 30 days) where i write 14 short stories over the duration of four weeks, or one story for every 2 days for a month. I'm well on my way to having each story idea down on paper, but im refusing to allow myself to start writing them until I start the project.
Here are two stories that came from my planning that I submitted to the Storybook Collab, but haven't been picked up yet, and I was wondering if you folks wouldn't mind giving me some critisism on them (or if you like them a lot, work with me on a flash about them :P).
Bear in mind that they are more of a summery than a story because I've been so crammed to write lately (and i don't want to write them up and miss using them in the story in case they dont get picked up for a collab!), but I'm sure you will get a good idea about them.
Story One: The Best Gift - http://arthur-swordswinger.newgrounds.co m/news/post/279125
Story Two: Words like Daggers - http://arthur-swordswinger.newgrounds.co m/news/post/279128
As mentioned above, critisism is welcomed, and feedback in general is requested. I'm willing to create new material for an animation or collab. I'm more of a serious writer with a message then a comedic writer as well.
Thanks guys, I hope to hear back from yas :D
due to the lack of responce from this post, artists have 1 more week to respond, and the thread is being closed. i only received a handfull of messages so far, and i can't respond back to them untill i see some more competition. please participate, because like i stated, thread is being closed in a week
im not much of a forum kind of person, i prefer interaction (when online) via email. Ive still been on newgrounds, viewing and voting, just not here. so anybody with their inquiries, let me know, or if u need info, ask away.
hey folks, i am an addict to flash animation, music and writing. these are my three biggest hobbies. i play on creating some high level content later on in the future that im going to post here.
In the meantime, im looking for an animator i can write scripts for. they will likely be along the lines of music videos with north american and european origins.
If you seem like your interested, then any serious inquiry can be sent to me in a personal message, along with an email to contact you (or i can message back if you prefer), along with a link to another peice of animation you have created in the past. This would be a good chance for persons looking to furthur a career in computer animation, as it will be something your can add to your portfolio for later on. If your link proves to be of decent quality (in my subjective opinion) i will get in touch and periodicaly send you scripts/storyboards and audio files that you will need for the flash.
I realize the idea of not having control over your animation may not be appealing and that is why im asking for only serious inquires, so as long as u follow the general stoyboard, then you can use whatever style you chose.
hey guys, i recently made an entry, and i was wondering where some room for improvement could be. Be warned, this is about an online show called Pure Pwnage, so dont judge it bad cuz uve never herard of it. I used some sounds they had posted on their webpage and made this soundboard: http://newgrounds.com/portal/view/314298. i just need to know there i can do better on my submission for next time
no, its fine now i got it working. Turns out my coding wasn't in the same case as the tittles of my scenes.
All i need now is how to link a webpage now. any help?
oh, ok, let me try that then
is any1 here able to let some suport/advice?
it was a button already, and i pasted that code into the actions panel, but when i tested the movie, the button did nothing
hrmm... didn't work, can some1 explain how to apply it please, im still somewhat new to flash, but im not a noob.
wow, i refrashed the page and there was already a reply, lol wow fast. anyhow thanks man that helps a lot!
i need to know the code for a button that jumps scenes. Im making a soundboard with multiple people's voices on it, all on a seperate scene for each 1. Say for example, i want to get from the into screne, to the "Doug" scene, how can I do that?
So if any1 can help it would be appreciated, thanks. If my question gets answered soon, u can expect to see it soon here.
Arthur_Swordswinger
