All my other suggestions sort of begin and end with fundamentals, such as shapes and design, but I'll respect your wishes.

It is a little jarring I have to admit. Tell me more if you wish to do so. I'm interested lol.

Line Art:

If you don't have a tablet...GET ONE. You can get a nice entry level Wacom tablet for $100 which will do wonders for your digital drawings. Also, I highly recommend doing line art in Adobe Flash first, then you can import into Photoshop or whatever program you like for color and shading. Flash is great because it does vector lines that are scalable, and you can control the smoothing control with pen pressure. For the record, I start by drawing on paper, then take a picture with my phone and email it to myself, then import to Flash for line art. A scanner would probably be preferable though.

Coloring and Shading:

You can start with your basic color in Flash before Photoshop as an option. Your color tones for your pictures are chosen well. However, when it comes to shading, you should imagine a single point of light in a room with the character. That will help you visualize where the shadows take place on the skin, shirt, hair, etc. Also don't overthink it. Sometimes through minimal lines and shading can make a more dramatic statement. There's also other shading tricks like rim lighting, color filters, and leveling techniques that help pop your image even more. (check my recommendation below)

Character Design:

This is a personal choice. What you need to do is find all the elements of your favorite characters and draw what you like to see. Scour the internet for artists you like, anime shows, movies, comics, etc. Also, make sure you're not just making drawings.......but making CHARACTERS. Imagine them with a story, a bio, a personality. Convey that through their face expressions, pose, or the content of the image. Give your characters meaning when we look at them. That's when you start finding a style in my opinion.

I highly recommend you check out jazza.newgrounds.com and especially his youtube channel Draw With Jazza. It's amazingly helpful, and helped me rocket in the right direction.

You're on the right track, and definitely show promise. Never stop being inspired or learning.

I do have a tablet.I draw 100% from the tablet since I have no way of getting paper since there is no art store near me.I really did like drawing on paper. Lineart has always been the kryptonite for me since the dawn of time. The pen tool is a sin, and it should be crucified. I could never get a clean lineart or have the lineart thin, even when it's on the smallest setting possible. The making characters part is really interesting because I am trying to rededicate my whole art motto instead of just making fanart all the time. It just feels like a chore sometimes when I draw just anime and other fanart, so lately I've been trying to do it in a style that is very much new to me. I'm no longer playing it safe. Thank you for the reply!

I would recommend not focusing on making your own style right off the bat and just draw stuff, do studies and better your fundamentals. Over time as you get better at the basics you'll be a lot more comfortable with drawing and be able to deviate from what is normal more comfortably and yield more appealing results in the way the characters look as well as the composition.
Right now based on what you've posted you should really put more thought into your backgrounds the two you've posted are really blurry and out of focus which is kind of weird especially on space gaga since the spaceship is in focus.
As someone mentioned crisper linework would greatly benefit both of these right now the padded sketchy and incomplete lines really detract from the drawings.
I think that space gaga should have been a full body shot, the cropping is a bit awkward and she's in what appears to be a nice pose. Link to the Past however is not very interesting to look at since it's just a bust.
I hope that helped in some capacity; keep posting art so we can get a better feel for your strengths and weaknesses and help you accordingly.

Yeah I am not really good with backgrounds, and was better off doing simplistic ones. I'm glad that you are actually critiquing the stuff because I never got this on deviantart. A Link to the past one is what it is, some times I just draw for the sake of drawing, I have always sucked at lineart, and usually it ruins the pictures for me because it looks better when it is not inked. The pen tool is a nightmare to use, and it takes several hours for me and even then the lineart looks too big even when I am using a 3 pixel brush. I will keep on posting, and thank you.

I've been drawing anything and everything in order to find my own style. Life drawing, experimenting with colors, and doing new things instead of drawing anime all the dang time. I am still weak with arms and sometimes the pictures don't look the same when I flip them horizontally but I have learn to deal with that as long as the picture looks appealing. I'm not Mr.Perfectionist, nor do I want to be.

But I do want feedback on some things like what is working/what isn't working not on the fundamental side but on the style side such as inking, coloring, and faces. I know what I still need to work on fundamentally. Some encouragement will be great.
