I used to be like that but for the past few years or so I've found myself to be quite the trophy hunter. I think it was a close friend of mine that got me into it and not really on purpose, he basically explained to be why he loves getting achievements and I agreed with him. I love playing games but in all honesty I'm not really that good. For example, in games like Street Fighter, Soul Calibur, Street Fighter, and PlayStation All Stars, I can't remember combos and button mash until I win. So when I try for a really difficult trophy or a trophy that's just difficult for me, I get a sense of accomplishment in getting it. Plus depending on the game I can enjoy playing it again, Borderlands and Borderlands 2 for example, I always played with friends so I didn't mind playing them probably hundreds of times over.
So that is my long way of saying yes, I do care about trophies.
I will always admit that yes PC beats consoles in graphics, they have mods, so on and so forth. However it really it just as simple as being a preferrence and I don't see why people can't understand that. I grew up playing a PlayStation, I remember being just able to walk and sitting on my brother's bed and watching him play, or me trying to play with my tiny hands. As I got older I kept playing and beat damn near every game in their massive library (which at the time consisted of a large shopping bag filled with an unhealthy amount of varying games). So I guess you could say it have a loyalty to the PlayStation linked though childhood but there just various other things as well. You say that you can build a gaming PC for just as much as a console right? Depends. When the PS3 first came out is was $600 (didn't buy it then, fuck that) maybe for $600 you could make a decent one but I've asked PC gamers if I could build a decent gaming PC for about $300 or so (the price of say a 500gb PS3) and they laughed in my face. Granted those guys were hardcore into their gaming even more so than me but still. Now to buy an already made gaming PC (Alienware and such) the average price I found was around $1200, so even I'd bought the PS3 at launch that's $600 I still have in my bank account. Then there is the issue of having to upgrade them over the years. I've used this argument before, Crysis, when it first came out it required processing power that was even possible at the time. So if I have a game that I can play on my PC, I might have a friend that I want to play with but he won't be able to because his PC might not be able to run it, where as if I buy Borderlands 2 on the PS3 for myself and buy Borderlands 2 on the PS3 for a friend for his birthday, I'm not going to have to worry about him not being able to play with me. You say you can hookup your PC to a TV and plug in a gaming controller, then what keeps your PC from becoming a glorified console? If your PC can go up to 1080p its not going to do much good if your TV can only go up to say 720p. Then theres the fact that I prefer the exclusives on consoles, I really don't give a damn about most of the games that come out on the PCs only and if a console only game gets ported it usually tends to suck in my experience. However with all of that said that's not going to keep me from getting one, I've got friends pushing me to do so and when I have the money I'm willing to try it out mostly because the mods and mods alone intrigue me.
I personally don't understand the whole reason to argue, I personally prefer consoles. I grew up playing a PlayStation and I will die playing a PlayStation and as such it very much is a personal preference. Like shaprnove mentioned with a console you don't have to worry about any kind of OS or hardware or anything of the sort, if at all possible I buy hard copies of games and as such don't even have to worry about memory all that often since I delete save files for games I know I'll never play again. As far as Ceratisa's comment, if you hook up a PS3 controller to your PC and hook up your PC to a big screen TV then I don't see how a PC is any different than a glorified console. I know people who do that and they have a gaming PC and a PC they use for their usual internet use, so in my mind all it is, is a console with better graphics that you have to worry about updating as games and technology gets more advanced (i.e. Crysis). Then as far as Grimdalus, the money I save with my console is advantage enough for me. Of all the websites I checked the average price for a gaming PC is around $1000, had I purchased a PS3 when it was first released at $600 that's still $400 I'd still have in my bank account.
Personally I really liked the Mass Effect 3 DLC. No not the "Extended Cut" which absolutely fucking nothing but Leviathan, Omega, Cital, and etc. Its not like they were hours long but they kept me occupied, they were entertaining, and its what I came to expect from Mass Effect. Out of those though I'd have to say Leviathan had to have been my favorite, 1/3 of the reason being the husk head you can get for Shepard's cabin.
Don't know if anyone has posted this picture already.
Like some people have already stated, I'm an agnostic, you could even argue agnostic theist. However at the same time the idea of some magical floating man in the sky with a magnificent beard casting magic is incredibly unbelievable to me.
Personally I have a PS3. I've been meaning to get an XBOX 360 but just haven't gotten around to it. There are pros and cons to both but I grew up with a PlayStation and PS2 so it was easy for me to decide to get a PS3 without even thinking about it (within reason). Say PS3 was truly the inferior console, and there are those who believe it is, I'd have still gone with the PS3. Now the reason I'm going to get a PS4 isn't only because of the childhood link but simply because as far as I've researched its a lot better than the XBOX One and it won't big brother my ass.

So much yes.

I know there is a lot over the years that I've talked with other players about, but I have to run to school right now and write an exam, I'll make up my list of what I'd like to see and what I'd like to see different in number 4 once I'm home in a few hours.
I'd really like to see more starting options for hair and tattoos. I didn't really want to spend money on simcash to buy get different styles of hair and I didn't feel like spending $30 on the Ambitions expansion pack to get better tattoos either.
Bong, Bowl, or Pop, whatever you want to call it. Coffee Cup.

I agree with these guys. Why would I want to play as Niko when I could play as Master Chief in the Gears of War universe or Marcus Fenix (preferably Clayton Carmine, bite me) in the Halo universe, all in a sandbox style with normal vehicles, Halo vehicles, or Gears vehicles to jack. Also with weapons from all three universes to use.
My bad peoples, both of those are gameplay videos, I tried to post the trailer just now and the bbs wouldn't let me.
I apologize if there was already a thread for it, I couldn't find it.
That said, has anyone else heard about this game? Being a daily visitor of IGN, GameInformer, and the like (almost to the point where its unhealthy) I find it just a bit weird that I've never heard of this game until today. Apparently its schedule for a June 2013 release and honestly my first impression as far as story (from what I know) it seems a lot like Mirror's Edge to me. With all that said, I don't know what else to put out there since I just saw an ad for it on Cracked, did a quick search, and decided to make this thread since I'm lazy and was hoping the NG community might know more about it. One thing I found out that I like is that apparently you'll be able to create and customize your own combos in the "Combo Lab". I've never seen this in any game I've played, that I remember anyway. So yeah NG...discuss. I've posted a trailer and gameplay video below.
At my first High School you had the options of German, Spanish, and I think French. I already knew Spanish and so I took German which I passed with a D-. When I moved that High School only offered Spanish. I was born in Brooklyn and English was my first language so when I speak Spanish I still have some grammatical errors as well as when I write it but they still didn't let me take it, said it would have been too easy of an A.
I don't know if this counts as professionally or semi-professionally but I did participate in an Unreal Tournamet 3 and Gears of War 3 tournament at local gaming event in the town I live in but after those two never again. I'm one of those people that once in a blue moon I obliterate everything that dares stand in my way and if anything does survive my wrath its only so that they could send the message to the others before I slaughter them all and build a shelter from their skin. However, for the most part my ability to play games whether its multiplayer with games like CoD, GoW, or UT3 to fighting games like Street Fighter or MvC3 ranges from decent to fucking sucks.
Like most people have already said I enjoyed the first, the second was my favorite, and the third I found to be enjoyable but a disappointment compared to the second. I understand that Saints Row was never completely story oriented like say GTA or "Red Dead" but I think The Third went a bit over the top with just wanting goofy shit to throw in there. The second one had a decent mix of serious and funny and I was able to take The Protagonist more seriously. Now that's not to say that the The Third isn't worth playing, on its own its still rather fun, running around with a giant purple dildo and beating people to death with it never got old (at least for me) and even though I haven't bought the DLC for it yet the Shark-o-Matic weapon looks like it could entertain me for hours.
Personally I think girls with tattoos are pretty fucking hot as long as the tattoos aren't stupid or look like crap. For example, the girl in the picture that the OP put up I find attractive. I'd even deal with a face tattoo if it wasn't too over the top i.e. Kat Von D, though I don't find her attractive the tattoos on her face I wouldn't mind but if a girl tried to pull a Bombshell McGee, we'd have a problem.
Of the ones I've played I'd say Saints Row, Red Dead Redemption, and The Godfather games. Personally I'd says Saints Row is the closest you'll get, just with more comedy but not everyone likes it. Red Dead Redemption is pretty much GTA in the Wild West, and The Godfather games are pretty much GTA in the 30s, at least from my understanding. Of course there are things that make each game unique but I'm judging them at their most basic level.
Can't believe I'm about to add to this but here goes.Putting each in a scenario that takes place in the others respective universe the ninja wins hands down, no ifs, ands, or buts.
----
In the Fallout Universe:
Yes the BoS have power armor and and incredibly advanced weaponry but say they're outside in the open wasteland ninjas from the Naruto Universe have dozens of techniques to hide themselves and surprise the BoS. They can make clones of themselves, some that disappear after being hit, and some are actual physical beings that can attack and hurt you. Now with all of that said, they have to use sowrds, kunai, shuriken, or explosive tags, enough of them using a strong enough fire jutsu would roast the BoS alive inside those suits and they have techniques to keep them from moving while those ninja do so. And that's just one way of doing it. The ninja in the Naruto Universe are pretty much super fucking human. They can produce lightning, fire, water, earth, and wind from nothingness.
----
In the Naruto Universe:
This is even a worse scenario for the BoS. Even if they surprise the ninja and kill one or a few they are going to have even more places to hide in the forests that surround Konoha. It would go the same as in the scenario described in the Fallout Universe. Yeah the BoS have all these weapons and armor but the ninja have techniques to exploit literally all of their weaknesses.
Watching my brothers play this massive collection of games on the Sega Genesis and Dreamcast and Playstation. Even as young as three they'd let me mess around with the controller and I guess that's what I'd say got me hooked. Then obviously I got older could actually understand what I was supposed to do and the rest is history.
Bioshock Infinite, Army of Two: Devil's Cartel (for me anyway), Last of Us, GTA V.
Its a nickname from a kid I used to babysit.
I've been keeping up on this (because I have nothing better to do) and I just keep finding out more and more stuff that makes me want to assault anyone who legitimately defend their purchase of this game. Apparently the number of screenshots that were released for it were complete bullshit.
The first game system I ever played was the Sega Dreamcast but I also had the Sega Genesis, SNES, Super Nintedo 64, and the Playstation growing up due to my brothers being lazy bums.
The lead developer for Big Rigs, Sergey Titov, is also the lead developer for The War Z. That's all I needed to know for me to not want to buy that abomination, everything else is just happens to make it worse.
I really enjoyed it when I started playing it around 2006 or so. I wasn't much of a gamer at the time, though I don't think you can call Runescape a game for serious gamers, so I didn't really get to a high level and mostly got all of my good stuff from help from friends. I occasionally go back to it for the nostalgia or just when I get bored but it never lasts long.
I'm a firm believer in "to each his own" but if I had to pick a video game genre to kill off it would have to be sports. Yeah FPSs have been bad for several years now but the ocassional diamond in the rough is enough for me to not want to kill it off. Sports games on the other hand seem kind of mundane. It would mean I'd have to go without UFC Undisputed but they aren't making anymore of those anyway.
Of the possible choices that I've played, those being Assassin's Creed 3 and Black Ops 2, I'd have to give it to Assassin's Creed 3.
Someone send word to the CrimsonFuckr.
All I hope (though it isn't likely) is that Tetsuya Nomura realizes FFVIII is crap, no one cares about it, and no one cares about its continuation. Instead of sitting there, wondering how to make another FFVIII game, if he went ahead and made Kingdom Hearts 3 then people would be much happier and he'd make a lot more money. At the same time though I urge him to just hurry the fuck up and make KH3, if it ends up half assed, there will be problems.
