This is an experimental one I made. No outlines at all. Everything in the below picture was drawn using the lasso tool in Photoshop CS2. And yes, this was done with a graphics tablet.

Another one. Also drawn in pencil and inked. I call this one "A Small Surprise".

I've been drawing a lot lately, and my art is usually scattered throughout the art forum. That's why this I'm going to put everything into this one art thread.
Below is a robot-type thing I drew. Drawn in pencil and inked with micropens. Suggestions? Comments? How is it?

Yeah, woodshop was my favorite class back in the day, and wood's just really fun to work with. A block of wood can become so many things... I've built working model airplanes out of wood, and half of my basement is devoted to woodworking. So yeah, I guess you can say I like woodworking.

Install XP, or go the Mac way. Vista just sucks, and there's nothing you can really do about it.

It's actually quite simple. Make your blade, but make sure it's flat and not curved. Then, get a handle out of wood or plastic, but it has to be an inch or so (2.5cm) bigger than the blade. Using a saw, cut out a "slot," long enough and wide enough to fit the blade fully. Using a drill, make a smallish hole on one end of the handle. This is where the blade will be attached to the handle. Drill a hole at the end of the blade (make the metal strong enough, so it doesn't crack from drilling), and align the blade's hole and the handle's hole. Find a rivet or screw and put it in the hole to secure the two parts. If everything worked successfully, the blade should be able to fold in and out of the handle smoothly. If not, use a different screw, or try oiling it with machine oil. For a finer look, you could also sand down the handle. Hope that helps.

Also this isnt difficult, draw your picture in flash, colour it, select all and remove the lines....

Yeah, but that's technically cheating. What I meant is draw the entire drawing without using outlines at all. Try using the lasso tool in Photoshop to draw. Now that's a challenge.

Does it matter? PunBB and FluxBB look the same, and most forum users don't really care how the forum is written. Besides, PunBB's extensions work fine in my experience. It's really a matter of which one you choose to go with.

Here's an idea that might be a bit of fun for the artists here at NG. Try drawing without outlines, and post the result here. I have here my first drawing with no outlines whatsoever. Remember to have fun, and don't use MS Paint unless you're a master.

Don't go with either SMF or phpBB, as they are pretty hard to customize. I highly recommend punBB. It's free, and minimalistic, so it's easy to customize. There are also thousands of extensions available for it, so the possibilities are endless. When I installed it, it took me less than 4 hours to integrate it into my site. It's that easy. Here's the link.

yeah... but you gotta do a clean install, and because it's one of the rules, i can't tell you where to get XP. If you have the original disc, then just install it and overwrite Vista. If you don't have a disc... then look... elsewhere... Vista sucks, doesn't it?

Sorry for double-posting, but I just noticed this, and I have the answer. It does not affect the OS', whether you update or not. Just make sure to partition a part of your Hard Disc, and keep the disc partitions separate. I've been running OS X and XP for months, and there have been no problems, and I update both of them regularly.

Virtual Machines use actual OS', so software and everything should run perfectly, if not a little slower. Make sure your computer can run two at the same time... You need to allot at least 512mb of RAM to Ubuntu for it to work decently. And Citricsquid, it is possible. VMWare allows both to run at the same time. There's also Parallels, which I use to have OS X and XP on at the same time. Have fun with Linux!

I have several computers. I have an archaic Windows 95 machine from IBM (13 years old),
I have an old, shitty Windows XP-based laptop, which I use for IE 6 testing and for writing viruses and Windows exploits.
I have a crappy Sony Vaio, with a measly 500gb HD, and only 3 gb of RAM. With XP Media Center, also dual-booting with Ubuntu.
My best computers, however, are:
A Power Mac G4, which I got from my school for free when they switched to Dells.
An iMac (new) with 4gb of RAM and a 1tb HD, as my home computer. When I travel or go anywhere, such as the bathroom, I use my MacBook Pro 15-inch. I'm still saving up to buy a nice, high-end Mac Pro with 32 gb of RAM and 4tb of HD.
